Comics World War Hulk: X-Men

sorry for the exclamation point...i got a little excited

Wow, Cyclops wasnt being a d-ck to Xavier. What a shocker

At least Gage said in the interview that it might hint at a reconciliation rather than being it.

man I cant blieve he kicked my girl Monet from Westchester to New Jersey

That panel rocked so f****n bad. M getting pwned always is bonus points in my book. :woot:

In hindsight it seems to me that the cover of #3 would have been more fitting for issue #2. And Colossus engaging in a contest of "mercy" with the Hulk made no sense. He would have lasted longer if he took advantage of his greater speed and agility. Colossus has after all has had years of combat training since being an X-man.

Yeah, beating up a bunch of kids because he wanted to know how Xavier would have voted?

He's beaten those people because they wouldn't let Professor X be taken willingly.

The moment that pissed me off at Hulk in the whole WWH is when his own cousin whose always been good hearted towards him steps up and tries to reason him? What's he do? Punches her face first into the ground. Not cool at all. :cmad:

She-Hulk made a last ditch effort to reason with him. But after learning what's happened to him, she should have known that Hulk wouldn't stop. She said it herself in the prologue. "Cassus Belli" or whatever. Heck, her cousin even gave her a moment to step away from it all. And that moment was all she got. If your not with him you're against him.

The gauntlet was thrown down the moment Hulk got exiled.

It wouldn't matter. The Thing can kick Piotr's ass and he still got beaten by Hulk. Hulk learned some skills during his time in the death matches of the arena. Also his gama strength gives him considerable agility and speed for a giant of his size.

Finally, being locked with Hulk like that was a bad idea. The Hulk is bigger, stronger, so he had more leverage to pull off that move. He could also kicked him in the nuts, leaving a serious dent.

Colossus is still faster and more agile and no slouch in the fighting department.
And with all due respect to the Thing, it is not a given that he'd kick Colossus ass. Hit a rock with a sledge hammer and there's your result!:cwink:

The Thing was the last guy standing in the first fight against the Champion. He displayed more brains, skill, and heart, thereby saving the human race. He also has lots more experience fighting. The boy from Brooklyn beats the Slavic fatalist.

That story was like 30 yrs. ago. Colossus was around 17 yrs. old at the time not nearly as strong as he is now or as good a fighter. There were also a lot of other powerhouses in that story that could possibly beat the Thing in a fight. That was a Marvel Two-In-One annual; it was a story set up to do the Thing proud (and it did), but the Thing came no closer to beating Champion than anyone else. So that argument does not stand up; sorry but Colossus is now more physically powerful than the Thing. Marvels own Man of steel wins.

The Thing was the last guy standing, so yes, I think it does speak very well of him as a fighter. Even when he's not bombarded with extra cosmic rays his power naturally increases annually. A third year Thing can knockout a 1st year Hulk. So by the time Colussus reaches his prime the Thing will still be stronger and a better fighter - especially with all the wierd adventures the FF has.

Well, at least Ben can beat Cena...:woot: ...and he has beaten Mr. Rasputin.

Don't seem to remember that.
Furthermore Colossus outranks the Thing in all power levels strength, durability, stamina, and speed. The Thing has real attitude I'll give him that, but Peter's not as mild mannered as he used to be now he's made of RAGE!

You don't have to remember something to make it real. I can't remember this planet forming... yet here it is. (X-men & FF mini & Contest of Champions, I believe)
Whatever "power levels" type stuff you are looking at... that ain't a fight.
I'm a long-time (1978) Collossus fan... but Ben can take him any day. As much heart and fighting skill plus experiance as Piotr has, Ben has twice that... esp. experience. That can't be minimized or wished away even by those who love the Collossus character.

Hell no. Thereby proving he's definitly the better fighter.

One of them needs to get mind controlled or something so they can duke out it.

With all due respect, that's a pretty dumb analogy. By your logic, just because I don't remember Aunt May taking down Doctor Doom doesn't mean it didn't happen.
The reason I don't remember Colossus and the Thing ever having a battle is because it has never happened, thus providing the impetus for such a debate. If Colossus had such a battle I would definitley have remembered it. As for the X-men/FF mini, there were two; he was in neither. He hardly appeared at all in Contest of Champions and he did not face off against the Thing. I'm not trying to say that the Thing does not stand a chance against Colossus. Any writer can come up with a way for anyone to win a fight whether we like it or not (does anyone remember Wolverine beating Lobo!:whatever: ). But my money is on Colossus more times than not. I'll try to back up my reasoning again with these examples....
Colossus can go toe to toe with a fully powered Juggernaut and although he did not necessarily win he stood his ground; so saying that because the Thing has tangled with the Hulk makes the difference is moot. My favorite example however is that waaay back in Uncanny #137 a very young Colossus went up against Gladiator of the Imperial Guard and stood his ground. They traded punches and brought a huge structure down upon themselves in the battle. Gladiator was the victor, but it wasn't a short battle. In FF #249 the Thing and the rest of the FF got their asses handed to them by the same Gladiator. Ben didn't even land a punch, it was no contest! And don't give me the "he didn't know how powerful his opponent was" line because Colossus battle was their first encounter as well and that battle began with a sucker punch while Peter was not ready.
So as it is quite obvious that Colossus is my favorite it is not blind "fanboyishness" that drives my opinion. A Colossus/Thing battle would be exciting regardless of who wins, but don't tell me that Colossus has no chance; I say the odds are in his favor. I just wish we could have seen Colossus go up against the Hulk before he was elevated to his new status.:cwink:

Ironically enough, the Hulk said almost the same thing in issue # 2 of WWH:X-Men.

In a pure toe to toe fight, my money is on Colossus. He's more durable and has greater endurance (and is slightly stronger than the Thing).

I know a bunch of people think Colossus came across heroic in the WWH:X-Men, but I don't see it that way. If anything, Petey got humiliated and we'll have to endure jokes about him getting bent for years.
