Worst Batman tpb?

I saw Lovers and Madmen in Waterstones today. Is it a good buy?

I thought lovers and madmen was great. Gave great insight into the Joker

I loved Lovers and Madmen, but you have to be willing to have another take on the Jokers Origin. It also might be tough to swallow the art but Honestly I thought it was a great addition to my joker collection

Lovers and Madmen was good but I definitely don't consider it canon at all.

It's great, IMO. I liked the "ugly" art style and the writing wasn't bad either. I'd wait for it to be a softcover though. $25 is kind of a rip off.

unless it is TKJ
eh nah I still wouldn't even consider that canon. Everything the Joker does after the "unfortunate incident" should be considered canon. Everything before, like him being a stand up comedian, or a hit man, or someone at the wrong place at the wrong time shouldn't.

i agree i guess... i mean TKJ is a phenomenon, but the joker's past should be shrouded in mystery

TKJ is phenomenal but I don't consider his so called back story truth just the backstory he felt like having at the moment.

i didn't really like anything w/ hush... i liked some of the plot elements in HUSH itself, hell i thought they were great! but for whatever reason i didn't like the character of hush... thought he was kindof a mediocre character... a mix of previous batman villians

he seems like a character who was forced to be related to Bruce Wayne. Also he likes to complain alot

Too true. He hates Bruce because his parents died? The way how Tommy envied Bruce was stupid.
Ya honestly I think they needed to sit down on that one more. Maybe something like, he always was second fiddle to Bruce, since the families were close. Hell maybe Tommy was always under Bruces shadow and when Bruce returned from training and made headlines Tommy lost it since his press was taken away again.

Yeah.

The new Hush story in Detective Comics by Paul Dini is great though. Really shows how Tommy is one crazy mother****** and hinted in the last issue that Hush might not be Tommy.

"Heart of Hush" is really strengthening the jealousy aspect of the Hush character. He was a bad egg from the get-go, wanting his parents dead and all, then he's saddled with his overbearing mother. Seeing it all dramatized makes it a bit more....dramatic. :woot:

I'm not sure what Selina's reaction to Hush's face was about. I mean, I thought this arc had been making it pretty explicit that Hush is Tommy. Who knows, maybe, somehow, it isn't Tommy, or it is and he's had surgery to make himself look exactly like Bruce and it'll all tie into that post RIP "Battle for the Cowl" or whatever.

Hush probably made his face look like Bruce Wayne so when he kills Batman he could assume Bruces identity.

Then have a whole monologue that goes something like this " Wayne! Your parents died when you were young, you always get what you want! I wish my mom died but no your father kept her alive! (insert ancient Greek quote here) I will have my revenge Bruce!"

Yeah I'm guessing that too since we have seen Hush cutting away at his face a few times.

yeah I don't like him, has anyone read Batman: Cult? I haven't, but I heard it was pretty bad!

really! the people I've talked to said it was weak... I've seen the art & it is indeed impressive, but I just dunno

I liked the Cult. It makes Batman kinda seem weak at some points (Jason Todd saves him a couple of times) but Batman gets rocked pretty hard in that book, so its justifiable.

Black Mask was awesome in The Cult. That's when he dawned the skull look.
