Worst Batman tpb?

I've never read Knightfall and I've heard mixed opinions towards it, anyone really love it?

I do. I think it's great.

Hey everybody today I finally collected the whole No Mans Land arc t:. It's definitely not the worst story but it's so annoying you have to buy EIGHT!!!!11111!!!!! tpbs to complete the whole storyline and spend over $140

Technically, the No Man's Land arc is only the No Man's Land TPBs. When Gotham becomes the NML is when it starts and when Luthor begins to rebuild the city at the end of Vol. 5 is the end of NML.

Yeah but Contagion led the way to Cataclysm which led Gothams downward spiral to No Man's Land and Evolution picks up after No Mans Land left off.

Has anybody mentioned The Poison Tomorrow? I thought it was really disappointing--even more so when you consider how great Denny O'Neil was with Batman and Green Arrow back in the day.

I really liked Knightfall. I just wanted to read the first trade, then the second and third at a later time, but I got sucked into the story and read the first two trades in a couple days.

I assume this is directed at me, so I'll ask: Have you read The Poison Tomorrow?

Look, I love Denny O'Neil's 70s Batman and Green Lantern/Green Arrow stories. There's a reason that those books are so revered. But that doesn't change the fact that Poision Tomorrow is a bad story from 1992. Even the greats make mistakes sometimes.

But, hey, if you're content to assess the quality of a story based on the author's name, more power to you.

I am content to do so, only because he has made Batman who he is... he has more of an understanding of Batman than anyone....

a lot of the concepts (arkham, ra's al ghul etc.) were given to us by Oneil

Look O'Neil is great and he can be your favorite bat author if you want. But I am so tired of hearing people attribute Batman to one person. Or say that one person is the best at Batman.

O'Neil is great but Batman is great because of lots and lots of writers who are all really talented. O'Neil isn't the God of Batman. He doesn't have more of an understanding than anyone either.

My original statement wasn't directed @ you, it was meant for the guy's dissing Knightfall.

I don't attribute Batman to one person, only the elements of his world. If it wasn't for Oneil, the revamp in the late 60's may have been very different from the dark & serious aspects of our beloved modern Dark Knight.

I attribute Batman to many people... Denny is obviously @ the top of my list, but there's Frank Miller, Paul Dini (for BTAS elements which have carried into continuity), Grant Morrison, Jeph Loeb.... the list goes on & on & on...

And yes, next to Bob Kane/Bill Finger, Oneil has more of an understanding, because he's the one that created most of the mythology!

I think Abosulte B&R is decent. I just think Frank Miller and Jim Lee don't mix.

Seriously? Everything he does for DC? This actually looks quite iconic to me. In fact if you look up Batman on the Wikipedia I'd bet you'd see that picture right there.

First you say Jokers Last Laugh is good and then call Jim Lee a bad artist....

Anyway...I just finished Brubakers Bruce Wayne- Murderer?, Fugitive storyline. Ithought it was decent at best. I'm not a huge fan of Brubakers Batman. His Daredevil stuff is great though...
