Worst console ever?

I never really cared for the Dreamcast. I hated the controller and I hated the 3D Sonic games. The same said about my preference for the Xbox. I didn't hate them, I just didn't love them...at all.

The worst experience I've had with a gaming platform goes to the Virtua Boy and N-Gage. I never played the 3DO and Jaguar but from what I hear, if I did, they would probably be right up there.

Also Horrorfan the Dreamcast did not fail because it was supposedly crap in your eyes.

It failed because:
a. The Dreamcast lacked so much 3rd party support that it made the Gamecube look like the Playstation 2

b. The Playstation 2 had a DVD player, a cheap one at that.

c. The Playstation 2 had better graphics.

d. Sega was already on the decline mostly due to the failure of the Saturn and 32X

Dude check out games like God of War, Resident Evil 4, and Metal Gear Solid 3

LOL Not that I disagree, but comparing games that came towards the end of the PS2 life cycle to a console that was a non starter isn't really fair :o

IA. The DC graphics were pretty good for its time and there were instances where it was better. Soul Calibur was absolutely beautiful and I thought it looked better than the PS2's main fighter at the time Tekken Tag Tournament

Well the Dreamcast had a year advantage over the Playstation 3 of course they're gonna look better. Take a look at the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The 360's games are currently looking better when in truth they are pretty much the same graphically.

you mean the Playstation 2. Actually Soul Calibur was a launch title of the DC, so first year advantage had nothing to do with this. But basically you're saying its not fair to compare the games that the DC produced in its 1 year advantage over the PS2, but its okay to compare games that are released 5 years into the PS2's life cycle up against those same DC games?

As for the 360 and PS3, Im not seeing the 360 games look much better than the PS3. They are about the same to me

Whoops!

Not at all. I think it's fair to compare games from all periods. I was just explaining why some Dreamcast games looked better than the early Playstation 2 games.

There have been reports of the Xbox 360 version looking slightly better.

guess it depends on the game and who's rating bc there are also reports of PS3 games looking better. Oblivion being one of the biggest examples

That's because it was released with a patch that improved graphics that 360 owners should also be able to download soon....

I know it's been said before, but the DC was one of my favourite consoles back in the day. Crazy Taxi was brilliant and something different, Shenmue wasn't too bad as it had tons of elements to it, the Sonic Adventure games were well done and Soul Caliber looked lovely.

I came across tons of games for it, Phantasy Star, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Power Stone 1 and 2, Samba de Amigo, some robot fighter I forget, MSR, just to name a few.

It even had internet access. Sure, it was a bit restricted in places...but it was something brand new.
I even own the limited edition Yuji Naka blue Sonic DC =]

Back on the subject of the worst console ever, I'll hafta go with N-Gage.

Maybe the Game Boy Advance Micro.

I mean that was ******ed to release after the DS.

Oh no, its not BAD, but its like releasing the PS2 slimline now.

I'd have to go with Sega CD, it just went nowhere and the games were mostly crap (outside of a so-so Sonic). 32x wasn't that great either with games like "Spiderman webs of fire" lol. Personally I liked a 3d tank game on the Jaguar, but not really much else on it.

As for gamegear sucking, I never got ppl thinking that. The gamegear was ahead of the gameboy, and the Nomad was miles and miles away from it. Heck Gameboy only recently caught up with the Nomad in the Gameboy Advance. The only downside to the Nomad was that it was a battery guzzler, but being able to plug my genesis games straight into it and play while in the car while my friend was playing a black and white 8 bit gameboy game ruled.

:up::up::up::up:
Gamegear owned. I think it was the size and battery requirement that shy'd some away.
Castlevania, Sonic triple trouble, Mighty morphin power rangers, man all their games ruled.

I think the battery guzzling made it suck... thank goodness for the AC adapter
