Please bare with me. I usually don't follow Marvel threads. But, it seems the relationship between Marvel and Sony is better than Marvel and Fox. Can anyone see where a deal would be made that allows Spidey and the Avengers (or the individual characters) to if not appear in their respective films....at least be mentioned?

It is a win-win for both studios. Also, unlike the X-Men mutant verse...Spidey and the Avenger worlds are a lot easier to mesh together.

I had heard rumors that they would like to some kind of deal. But, was hoping fans hear who follow this more would know.

I think Spidey's world could easily mesh with the Avengers world. But I don't see Disney/Sony working anytime soon.

No deal is ever being made. Sony will eventually be forced to concede the rights to Marvel anyway due to audience fatigue and them not being able to give the character a rest without the rights reverting.

If it means screwing with continuity then hell no.

Sony certainly *wants* some kind of deal, at least enough to let them imply that Spider-man is in the MCU. I can't see anything significant arising from it, though. There just isn't any real incentive for Marvel to play ball. In particular, trying to stick him in an Avengers movie is a non-starter: its only worth it for Sony if they get a cut of the proceeds ( or some serious equivalent in barter ), which is almost certainly *not* worth it for Marvel, as the odds of it meaningfully increasing grosses are slim.
