Would Stallone work as Frank Castle?

Seems to me he would.

He's got the right age to be comic accurate, he's got the build, the experience, and the knowledge.

He played John Rambo, who is similar to Frank Castle in some ways.

What do you guys think?

His involvement would add some definite "street cred" to a Punisher film.

yea stallone has all the right attributes, but for me i think he brings too much baggage from his other roles, which i do not think i would like.

plus you can see stallone is starting to go over board with the face lifts like his ma jackie, i have seen a couple of pictures of him in public and he looks just plain silly................

Fat Freddy's Cat and Brenden nailed it. He'd be a good Punisher for sure, he's got the menace, he's got a decent enough look for it, but he's a B to A list star who already has done numerous similar roles. It'd be sort of like if Christian Bale played Superman in the next Superman movie. Black hair, tale, handsome, but he's already tied too close to another successful superhero franchise.

I heard an interview with Stallone that said Rambo 4 (technically Rambo) was originally going to be John Rambo vs. an MS-13type gang.

I never read a Judge Dredd comic, but basing it off the movie. The Punisher is nothing like Dredd.


I never thought of Stallone for the Punisher.

after watching the latest film "rambo" recently, now i know why this thread exists

the brutality, blood and gore of this film (rambo) is a must-have for PW
although its ultraviolent, the actions are much sensible/reasonable, appropriate and not over-the-top

i hope PW brings those same aspects of action as rambo
