If you saw a girl getting yelled at by her Boyfriend, and it was starting to get confrontational and what not and lets say the girl is really attractive..not like a supermodel or anything, but fine. and there was a chance of you getting with the chick after you saved her from her bully of a BF/husband.

now would you step in knowing that there was a chance of you getting her afterwards or would you step in because its the right thing to do?

what if the chick wasn't really attractive at all? answer all questions that apply.

same for the women but opposite scenario.

you post this on a comicbook message board, community or not, so I think all of us have read a comic in some form or other, and would step in in some way or other, whether it be actually breaking it up, or walking past to get to a payphone and call the cops.

I have actually seen this scenario in person, and got involved, sure I knew the guy and was looking for an excuse to start something with him but thats beside the point.

what the **** have comics got to do with it?

If you consider reading batman comics to be some kind of training I see some severe beatings in your future...

Thats not what I meant, I meant anyone that reads most comics will acknowledge, there is a hero and a villain, and the hero does the right thing while the villain does the opposite, I never said anything about it being training, its a matter of doing the right thing or not.

comics are generally excessively black and white concerning morality

the fact that you use the terms hero and villain in this scenario makes me think you've got a lot to learn about life...

Exactly, the world isn't black and white.

It's gray and theres a **** ton of shades.

you seem to be under the impression I am a kid let me clarify I am a 24 yr old man working in law enforcement and have been working in this career since I was 19, so I have learned my fair share about the law and what not, but I also have the testicular fortitude( cheap prop to mick folley) to fight for something I believe in, in this case right and wrong. I acknowledge there are grays, my best friend is so gray he is dang near black, but that doesnt mean anything. I was raised to believe in right wrong and the right way to deal with this situation would not to get actually physically involved, it would be to ask them to take it somewhere else, and not air their dirty laundry in public, and if they refused call the cops, only get physically involved if he is actually getting physical, and hurting her.

I just saw your post on the previous page hippy facist, nice sleeper hold/choke hold if I am picturing it right.

I wasn't refering to that, I was referring to you describing yourself as a "Hero"

That fact that you're twenty four really isn't helping. If anything I'd expect you to have grown out of this mindset by now...

I dont view myself as a hero, that isnt what I meant, I was trying to be humorous with those choice of words, you just took it a little too seriously.

Wow........ I wouldn't step in to try to break up any fight. Asking if the people are HOT or not is just dumb. I mean, I guess you'd have to be really shallow to say "Well if the chick was hot I'd step in....... but since she isn't I'll let her face get beat in" :whatever:

As for me, if someone was in trouble I would call the police.

I think we confused each other, lets get this thread back on topic.

In your case, you getting socked in the face trying to step in would probably cause them to make up.

and as a positive side effect it's GAH getting a kicking for being ignorant, so everybody wins! :)

are the actually any hypesters left that haven't longed for the opportunity on SEVERAL occasions?

I've done it before. Actually, I've helped break up many fights, regardless of the genders of the people fighting, so if the girl is hot or not doesn't matter.

If I can take the guy, and I'm in a fighting mood. Then yes.:bh:

I'm not the only guy who chose the 'bad' option! HUZZAH!

the answer to this is simple

if he's just shouting you leave well alone. You don't know what's caused this, for all you know the woman could have shagged the guy's brother. You don't get involvedi n other people's arguments since you don't know their history. Also, often this will simply result in causing a lot more **** for the woman in the long run

The fact that you include the possiblity of getting with the girl shows that you are:

a) Creepy
b) Virginal
c) A ****ty person with little or no moral fibre

d) All of the above

I wouldn't get involved to be honest, it's their business.

I'll get involved if he attempts to strike her or gets "rough". I've even stepped in when a smaller guy was getting beaten badly by a way bigger guy. It's just the right thing to do.

I've done that before.

Walking home from work I heard this guy just yelling, screaming at his g/f calling her all kinds of things..I said to myself..."if things dont get violent I wont step in". The next thing i knew ....he hit her (hard) he knocked her to the ground, I ran across the street and started "throwin dawgs on him" (hitting) He never saw me coming, NOW HERES THE SAD THING ABOUT IT. Hes on the ground I'm kicking him I'm telling his g/f to leave run go get some help, The girl starts screaming at me,telling me to stop kicking him..leave him alone..get off of him. I'm like "wtf". Then all of a sudden the b#tch starts hitting me. Atfer that i just walked away...crazy b!tch

Honestly its never okay to jump right into anything like that, if there verbally yelling at each other its fine, but if foes to hit the girl than that when you can jump in and be all chivalrous.

dont have the mindset that ur getting something out of it, do it cuz its the right thing to to, if all your looking for is something than your just as bad as the other guy..

I've seen more than enough examples of where the chick gets pissed at the hero for stepping in, even if she's black and blue. Wacky females.

I had this EXACT situation happen to me a couple years back when I was in my grad year. There was this girl who I was good friends with (although we were sort of more than friends). Anyway, she was a hot little chick, and she had a pretty obsessive boyfriend, and one day he cornered her in the cafeteria while it was lunch hour, so it was busy around -- I was surprised nobody really did anything.

Anyway, I saw this whole thing happening. She was trying to move and leave and he'd block her off, so I took a deep breath because he was a pretty built guy. Went up, told him to stop...he did, she hugged me...I got laid a day or two later. The rest is history.

EDIT: I may have left out the part where I asked my strongest friend to come with me for protection. :D

But yeah, true story.

I'd step in if I thought he was going to get violent. Have done so once or twice at theatre functions. But if he's just yelling...leave it alone. You cannot solve people's problems for them...she'll just have to learn on her own.
