I was just wondering, would you guys want Wolverine to have his own trilogy? Do you think Hugh Jackman will stay that long? Do you think it can hold its own?

I personally would like the Wolverine movie to go into a trilogy. They can do so much with him.

I thought it would be a good spin off, I doubt it'll happen.

It works best as a single. Just a more in-depth look into an X-man.

OK, somebody has to say it...

I thought the X-Men films were a Wolverine trilogy. :xmen:

Good point. But I really do want a Wolverine trilogy. There are countless storylines to base the films on, and a lot of potential, there.

Mister J beat me to it. Just one Wolverine film is fine. We already got three as is.

Hell no. One movie might even be too much.

^Exactly. If anything this movie will bomb, and the studio will figure out that people don't like Wolverine as much as they thought. Then they could go and make an X4,and this time not have Wolverine as a main character as before,or maybe not have him in it at all.

So at least something good can come from this movie.:yay:

Yeah, they could do alot with Wolverine. But Mister J does have a good point that the X-Men trilogy was kind of a Wolverine trilogy, and I didn't like that, even though Wolverine is a cool character.

had his own comic for twenty years, always in the top 20 so im sure it can go 3 movies, he has plenty of people that like him

Perhaps fan boys like him. But I don't think the general public know him enough for the film studios to make 3 movies of him. IMO one is enough.

Considering the fact that the X-Men movies were a huge success, and Wolverine was more of less the central figure on those movies,i would have to say that the general audience probably know him by now.

Also, didn't the movie Wolverine was voted as the most popular movie character of the year or something like that by the entertaintment weekly magazine a while back? beating other movies characters such as harry potter nad shrek?

If this movie turns out to be succesfull, there's no doubt that they'll make more.

i think he should have his own trilogy, but it'll be tough because its a prequel.

A trilogy is a bit much imo and he's my favorite Marvel character. To me a tv series would have been much smarter. His origin issues is enough to last seasons upon seasons and you'd have his side-stories. It wouldn't cost any more than Blade: The Series did, if not less because people don't ash when he kills them. A trilogy to me is just...too grand for this character.

I doubt WV will make so huge box office (especially after X3 terrible legs), so that is why I don't think there will be even sequel.

X3 may have 'terrible legs',but it was a box office hit nonetheless.

Wolverine movie probably wouldn't cost half as much as the X-Men movies, it wouldn't need to make five hundred million dollars profits for the studio to guarantee a sequel.

Yeah, Wolverine could go a trilogy. I'd see them. Jackman's contract for the solo flick probably has a sequel clause in it anyway. If it did become a trilogy, or more, how would you like to see it done? All of the movies as prequels to the X movies or the first as a prequel and the rest as adventures set after X3?

Yea, he deserves it, he's the deepest character with the longest story. To all the punks who voted no...why not? He has the most story and is the most beloved, are you jealous? His story is too long for a single movie. You know that!

But he's more than a TV mini-series! His story is too long and corse for a crappy low budget tv series. And who would buy it? Sci-Fi? Spike? A major channel? Doubtful. It's one movie and you go from there. It will do well enough with a much lower budget than X2 or X3. Easily. If it was a TV series what would you expect Wolverine: CSI or Logan PD Blue? That wouldn't work, it's for the fans and the fans want a long well drawn story of Logan's past. And, trust me, I'm not attacking you but the Blade mini-series, which I knew would only last months, is getting canceled and I thought he was popular enough for his own show. Seriously, Hugh Jackman is no sitcom star or live action star. He is big screen hero and everyman and he is made for the big big drama.

Who else deserves a series? If any, Gambit.

Gambit could definately handle at least one movie of his own. I can't really see him as a movie series, but hey, I'd love to be wrong if it was cool enough. I could see him in his own first flick and then transfer him over to X4 or something like that...

You just said it in your second line. His story is too long. It's too big. You think 6 hours is going to handle all of that? 30 years in comics hasn't been able to handle all of that yet. A moderately mudget tv series is fine. Like I said, the show would cost less than Blade since it requires less CGI. A Wolverine series could be the modern Incredible Hulk with him going from place to place in search of clues to his origin.

Wolverine is marvel's number two man. If we are not going to get more x-men films, wolverines's the logical choice to have as fox's marvel franchise.
