Shortly after Smackdown was taped on Tuesday, edits were made to the show to reflect Michelle McCool vs. Layla El now being a "Loser Leaves WWE" match as opposed to "Loser Leaves Smackdown."

In asking around today, the word was that McCool, who's been the top heel Diva for some time, was finishing up with the company.

Maybe now some other woman can get a more serious shot at that top spot and the focus. These days Layla has the looks and seems to be the workhorse of the two anyway.

Hmmm. I would figure that they would get rid of Layla before Michelle because of the Undertaker connection. If Michelle moves on I really don't care much. It's not like she's all that attractive like Layla, and her matches aren't spectacular. Layla is the only diva with some real meat on her bones, so I'm glad it's not her for now.

Like Pink Ranger said she probably wants to settle down and is tired of the grind...plus she needs to take care of her old (dead) man. Either way we FINALLY get some fresh blood at the top of the divas division instead of McCool constantly getting back into the spotlight.

Holy crap!McCool gone after all that work invested in her.Not that I'm complaining.

She's the top heel in the company but its not much of a loss since she never really got over that much.

There have been a lot of rumors about lawsuits involving the TNA of late. To the best of my research, I can find no evidence that any current or former talents have filed any legal action against the company, beyond former TNA Knockout Daffney. With that said, there are several suits involving the company ongoing, including one where the company is the plaintiff, which I'll write about once I have a chance to read through the cases, but none of them are talent-related.

I called bullsh** on this story as soon as I read it. For one think Honky Tonk Man has been "reporting" on it and that alone makes me suspect. The Jimmy Hart/TNA story was misleading at best.

I'll believe PWInsider over most of the other dirt sheet sites that just steal there news from other sites or post anything sent in to them.

Daffney should sue the hell out of TNA though. Their treatment of her was terrible and later putting her in the ring with that big slab Rosie Lottalove was just foolish. She was clearly still green.

Exclusive: Behind-The-Scenes Update on Undertaker/McCool
by Nick Paglino

A post today on PWInsider.com revealed that Michelle McCool is reportedly finishing up with WWE, as she will participate in a Loser Leaves Smackdown Match against former Lay-Cool partner Layla El.

We can confirm, based on conversations with several wrestlers and a key WWE insider, this move has a lot to do with the fact The Undertaker is not scheduled for TV anytime soon, and simply wants his wife at home.

McCool's tenure on Smackdown has been somewhat controversial, as she has not appeared on house shows, and only works TV tapings and pay per views. This preferential treatment rubbed a lot of the full time wrestlers the wrong way, especially since so many "part-timers" were in featured roles for WrestleMania (Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, Trish Stratus, Vickie Guerrero, Snooki). To make matters worse, the Cole vs Lawler match went very long at WrestleMania, taking up valuable time that others could have used to put more of a spotlight on their own match. Agent - Producer Dean Malenko was the one who laid out the Lawler vs Cole match, and that touched off a whole locker room discussion about the part timers who get so much air time, when the house shows are hurting and pay checks are down because of it.

McCool is said to leave in WWE Chairman Vince McMahon's good graces, and is expected to return to television about the same time Undertaker appears again.

So she's leaving but she will be back? Lame. And another example of preferential treatment because of who she is with.

I've heard a lot of stories of WWE wrestlers not getting to take long periods of time off to spend with their spouses without fear of losing their spot. She'll get to come back and get her old spot back with ease.

I've got no problem with her getting time off to take care of her husband but if she gets this kind of treatment EVERYBODY should. Taker is the one who has earned the right to get special treatment not her. If she takes time off she shouldn't be treated any differently than anyone else and should do as much work as everyone else to get her spot.

Thats not the way it is though. Oh well.

No surprise that Jeff Jarrett has issued a challenge to the royal newlyweds...TNA is desperate for attention and issues these types of "it'll never happen, but maybe we can get some press out of it" things.

As far as Michelle McCool leaving...she was selfish her entire run...was treated like the most important female on the roster...and now she splits because she'd rather do something else. This time could have been spent building some of the Divas who actually ARE over with the crowd (um...Kelly Kelly?) or have talent (Gail Kim). At the VERY LEAST Kharma should debut by destroying McCool, ending her career.

I guess im the only one that likes McCool. I think shes hot as ****.
She's attractive but she's got a voice that irritating as hell. Never cared for her when she first showed up and still don't know.

I think both Layla and McCool are as hot as ****, and I'm surprised that Gail Kim is even around anymore.

Watching Smackdown!,my thoughts.....

-Nice new updated intro!

-I'd be interested in a Drew vs Randy feud!!,LOL@A-Ri not even getting a word in before getting the cutter of doom(Drew&especially A-Ri sold it pretty damn good though),ADR!!!,It already feels like Orton is the main star while Christian is still just the help!

-I love seeing Sheamus kick some arse,But a damn shame Kofi keeps going down like a B****h!

-Sin Cara vs Swagger was a pretty nice little match and I enjoyed it!(Mistico's best match so far, although that ain't saying much),Kinda surprised Sin Cara didn't get too much offence in though,Swagger is definitely turning face at the ppv(which interests me.

-Kong/Kharma needs to debut already damn it!,I'm hoping at the ppv.

-Justin Gabriel did good in that tag match as usual,I really hope he does turn face soon and leaves the Corre group!!!

-I assume Jinder is debuting on the main roster soon!?

-Mysterio vs Henry was pretty decent,Henry sure dominated,Cody FTW!

-Layla looked damn good,in appearance and character!!

-Pretty good backstage promo for Christian!

-Nice ME tag match,Orton FTW!,I would love to see Brodus get a damn win on Smackdown though!

-An overall decent episode as usual!

Please Vin...I mean God let us have Gail Kim vs Kon...I mean Karma one more time. It was so awesome in TN...I mean that wrestling company.

Layla is beautiful. She's the finest diva imo.

I think Kharma will rise up, leaving McCool as a second thought. No one will care when she returns.

"I was wrestling in South Africa against Yokozuna. Seven hundred pound savage.
He picks me up, slams me in the middle of the ring, I **** my pants.
What do you think I did? I kept going. I **** my pants and I
kept working a match. What do you think about that?"
-Stone Cold Steve Austin

:hehe:

Their feud in TNA was good. I wish they would get a chance to do it again because it could show that women can wrestle if they pick up the right talent. It's too bad that they still have that model focus. Supposedly Serena from the SES was a really good wrestler, but they just up and released her without giving her much to do.

never got mccool hatred i find her very attractive and she was quite solid in the ring

but oh well

Chief Marketing Officer Talks "New WWE"

Michelle Wilson talks about the company's new vision…

Credit: Mike Johnson & PWInsider

WWE held their annual stockholder's meeting in Stamford, CT this morning. WWE's Chief Marketing Officer, Michelle Wilson, explained the company's vision for the "New WWE."

Wilson said that the company's management team got together towards the end of the year to look at ways to challenge themselves and find new opportunities. The changes are about fixing and growing their core business. They also wanted to find new business opportunities to grow WWE into being more than a "wrestling organization".

She noted they company will be known as WWE going forward. She said they will never take their eye off the ball of wrestling but they position themselves as KFC or Apple, branding themselves beyond their core product while also building the company in new ways.

Michelle explained they were going to develop a new talent development process and they were re-focusing on developing talent with Triple H going forward.

Wilson discussed the debut of WWE's Tough Enough, saying it's bringing 3 million viewers to the company outside of their core product and they are going to continue to create new programming outside of their normal base.

Wilson discussed their licensees, noting Mattel (toys), THQ (videogames) and they will continue to innovate on those levels. Wilson noted their new partners, including K-Mart, who are investing in their television product, live events and advertising within their own stores. M&M Mars has returned as a sponsor as well.

Wilson said they are looking for new opportunities. "Content will remain king." They will be using traditional means as well as new content providers, noting Netflix, Google and Amazon looking for content. She noted they will continue to seek out new ways to provide WWE programming going forward.

The WWE Network was brought up next. She said that the WWE Network was a natural evolution and they hope to launch in 12-18 months, "whether it be a traditional format or an alternative format, as I just mentioned."

Wilson said they want opportunities to use their core competencies, in production, licensing and marketing. Wilson said they could go out and identify other companies who's intellectual properties aren't being "leveraged and maximized" as much as they could be. She said they could put them through the WWE model, bringing more revenue to WWE.

Wilson also mentioned acquisitions in the content front. She noted it could provide growth here in the United States and internationally.

Wilson closed out with an announcement that they are excited to announce that the preliminary buys for Wrestlemania are up 30% domestically and they are "confident" they will break the one million buys mark.
