I thought this was an absolutely great idea for a thread!... In both spidey 1 & 2, the film opens up with Peter saying a couple of opening lines (which is just great, cause it sucks you right in!)

Who am I? You sure you wanna know? The story of my life is not for the faint of heart. If someone told you it was a happy little tale, if someone told you that I was just your average - ordinary guy, without a care in the world, somebody lied.

But let me asure you, this story like any other story worth telling is all about a girl...That girl, Mary Jane Watson. The women I've loved since before I even liked girls. I'd like to tell you that's me next to her...Ah heck, I'd even take him!

SM2:
She looks at me every day. Mary Jane Watson. Oh boy, if she only knew how I felt about her. But she can never know. I made a choice ones to live a life of responsibility, a life she can never be a part of.

Who am I? I'm Spiderman - given a job to do... And I'm Peter Parker, and I too have a job.

NOW! I think it's for surden that Spidey-3 will have a voice-over opening also. It would be W-R-O-N-G not to have it (and quite frankly, I'd be dissapointed). We dont know how it's gonna go, of course, but that shouldn't stop us from experimenting with it, now should it

Looking at the teaser, and knowing what we know at this point in time about the movie, how do you think it'll go. What would you like to hear Peter say?

im not sure what the VO will say. i think most of us would naturally think it would be about darkness, but technically spidey wont be 'evil' until the symbiote gets on him. the other Vo's though have a feel to them that is not necessarily dark, but definitely sets the tone, letting you know that this movie is not just going to be a web-slinging romp through the park, it will be serious and have real issues. that said, maybe the VO will have something to do with Peter's life becoming mundane...

i dunno, someone else can do this much more justice....anyway, good thread

I think the VO will involve how all people are flawed even heroes. And how everyone has to fight the darkness from within. Or something along those lines.

Edie Broc and Venom

Doesn't apply to Sandman. But, does apply to Parker and Brock- although Broc wasn't necessarily that great of a guy to begin with, he never was a 'Venom' until the symbiote either.

The cool thing about spidey 3, and what differs it from the previous two films, is the fact that the villains are EVIL this time. Maybe not Harry all the way... but Eddie/Venom and Sandman... in Spidey 1 & 2 both villains had a conscience (not to mention that they were both scientists who got ****ed up by their own damn experiment. Funny, actually)

In spidey 3, the villains are 100% evil!!! And Even Peter goes down the dark path... Come on you guys... Let's hear your voice-overs Dark is definitly the way to go.

I think it will be obvious...At the begining of this movie Spidy is on top of the world!!! He finally has MJ, she makes good cashola, He is now loved by the city and is considered a hero (spidy appr. day) and is aquiring fame!

After establishing that then the movie will progress on how spidy goes toward the 'dark side'.... takes advantage of fame....tempted by female fans....overconfidance....

My movie intro would be all about how good it is...then leave a 'but all good things must end' type of ending as the last sentance.

For once in my life I'm happy -- I have the girl, a steady job, and even some praise for my alter ego has been rumoured. It's hard to believe that after all I've been through things could look so positive . . . it's almost to good to be true . . .

While that's true, I hope it's NOT the case this time around! Spidey 3 really looks to differ from the previous two. More mature, and it'll definitly enter some dark corners... Raimi said that after spidey 2 he felt that he had layed to tracks with peter and MJ very well (honnoring what they did in the comics). In spidey 3 he had earned his rights to, and I quote "have fun!". That says it all! Spidey 3 will be different from the previous two. And knowing that the movie is practickly about how Peter deals with his inner most self as darkness takes him over, I definitly think that the opening voice-over should be about HIM. NOT about MJ! That was good in the other two movies. I'm all for him mentioning that everything is going great and he finally has the girl of his dreams! But after that, the dialouqe should only revovle around him self, and NOT MJ! We're past that now, that part is in place... Which is basickly what Raimi means with the words: have fun!

I promised to just be her friend and her personal protector. Now she knows who I really am. She knows all my secrets and more importantly she finally knows how I really feel about her. Ontop of my heroic duties and my odd jobs for cash I see another job in my future. My job as a good husband to the woman I love. Mary Jane Watson will you marry me??? There's only one way too find out....

yeah i figured lets get the obvious out of the way. i mean we know pete loves MJ and it's inevatible that he's gonna ask her to marry him. one thats what happened in the comics and two we see the engagement ring flying in the air along with Peter. i think its a great way to open up Spiderman 3.
