WTF?! "Hilton's good behavior cuts jail time to 23 days"

I know, but Joe Regular won't go to where Hilton goes to serve her sentence will they?

Actually they do. From what I can tell, there's only one women's facility in the jail system there that can house female inmates. She's going where all the women go to serve their sentences. The only difference is that they'll keep her segregated in protective custody so that one of the more hardcore female inmates doesn't try to kill or molest Paris since she's a "celebrity". They do this with any inmate the other inmates might post a danger to for whatever reason, so it's not really all that special as far as treatment goes. And, as has been said, she'll be in a cell with no TV, no radio, and nobody to pay attention to her with only an hour of exercise and shower time per day. She'll probably lose what very little bit of a mind she's got.

I don't like that because it says Justice is blind unless you're a talentless celeb. Then you'll go to the part of prison where all the rapes don't happen. She can break the law the same as everyone else, but she can't be raped like everybody else... meh... shame.

Yeah, but she's also a thousand times more likely to be attacked or molested by the other prisoners just because of who she is. An average person wouldn't have as much risk of having something like that happen to in general population as someone famous would. Same goes for someone who'd turned states evidence or committed a crime that other prisoners despise like child molestation. Hell, look how many people on this very board would love to punch Paris in the face if they had a chance to do so, and they aren't even in jail (that I know of). Imagine what the actual inmates would love to do to some snotty, stuck-up little rich b1tch who has an ego the size of Alaska?

It's not a celebrity thing. This happens often with low-risk offenders in the penal system due to overcrowding.

Seriously... are any of these people actually READING any of this thread before they post?

Read a thread before I post my opinion based merely on the title? Now who's the crazy one? :o

Its interesting that all of the sudden everyone here is extensively knowledgeable in the ways of the prison system.:whatever:

I have family and friends that are cops and prison guards. I also used to work in the court system. So, yeah...I know a thing or two about how it all works. ;)

P.S. - We aren't talking about the prison system, we're talking about the jail system. There's a difference. :)

So good behavior constitutes driving without a license, 2 days after being sentenced 45 days in prison for doing the same thing?

Paris probably had to get a little diirty diirty. ;p

I don't believe she was caught and formally charged for that, unfortunately. It's a shame, because she'd definitely be getting more time in the pokey. Interpret that any way you'd like.

This thread is slightly sickening for various reason.

1. People actually seem to want her dead just because she is annoying.:whatever:

2. Just because a crap load of people drink, & drive. Some posters seem to think that it is ok that she gets a shorter sentence.:whatever:

She broke the law. She shouldn't get a smaller sentence just because she has to be in solitary. You do the crime. You do the time. She should of been fully aware what happend to celebs when a crime is committed. Unfortunetley what usually happens is they are either:

1. Never found guilty (Blake)

2. Are let out so that they can make movies (Rob Downey)

3. Given a shorter sentence (Paris)

I am sick of people playing down the horrible effects that Alcohol has on society. in the time that is has taken me to write this post 7 people have died, or been affected by a drunk person.

I work with the Sheriff's Department and will be attending the Academy next year.

How is it "all of a sudden"? This is the first thread in quite some time that has focused on the jail system. I see that you are one of those people who chooses to form an opinion before actually thinking about it.

And I'm sick of people who can't f**king READ! She's getting a shorter sentence because of severe overcrowding in the jail system. Maybe you missed it the first ten times it was brought up in this thread.

I can't believe you can be that stupid to believe that, but still have the ability to spell.

It happens all the time in nearly every major city that has a jail population overcrowding problem. Lesser offenders are given abbreviated sentences in order to make room in the jails (an often times in the prisons) for more hardcore, dangerous offenders. This is nothing new and that it is a surprise to you reveals that you know absolutely nothing about the inner workings of our penal system. Congratulations on shooting your mouth off about something you don't understand in the least.

You do know not everybody is going to read a entire thread of part of a thread before posting, right? If not....you do now.

Yeah, after looking things over, I agree with jag on this. Sure, what she did was ******ed, but again, it wasn't as severe as I pegged it to be.

My fault.

Maybe not, but when posts just a few above your own or at least on the same freaking page kind of lay it out for you in living color, it's ridiculous. :down

For the love of god! Yes they do shorten people sentences, but I am sure that there is a list set up for those people. I am sure that there were plenty of people ahead of Paris. You wanna take a guess at why she was moved to the top of the list.

LOL! If you really, really think that her celebrity status had nothing to do with it. You have alot of growing to do. LOL!

I am going to sit this out now. I have said what I wanted to say, & playing the lame debate game with some one as naive as you. I have better things to do. Enjoy thinking you are the king of the hill. Peace.

I now realize that your affliction doesn't strictly pertain to this thread, clearly it's not that you haven't read this thread, you just haven't read anything... like, ever. Those rectangular things you see so many people turning sideways and opening, they're called books, and they contain enormous amounts of what we like to call information. You can access a lot of this so-called information via the internet and you local library.

They shorten sentence time on first time jail inmates (and even more frequent visitors of the penal system for that matter) that are low-risk and have committed minor crimes, regardless of whether they are celebrities or not ALL THE TIME. Paris is not being treated any differently from anyone else in the system. Go back to your oblivion.
