They’re an anthology series, Cloverfield is the universe. They aren’t really connected by anything.

Actually, the only thing that's connecting them all is Tagruato.

True. That is the one overall thing. But other than that these so far aren’t direct sequels. Just have that one thread through them all. Still anthologies.
