IMDB.com lists The X-Files 2's production budget as $35 million.
Which isn't bad at all. From what we've seen, they're obviously using the budget well.

I guess it's a good thing Duchovny and Anderson never got big enough in film to command big paychecks.
^According to someone with ties to an 'insider', Chris Carter, Gillian Anderson, and David Duchovny are receiving very low upfront salaries in exchange for gross percentage points. They stand to receive millions of dollars each if the film does well.
Ok so that whole werewolf Mulder thing is a bunch of bull**** then? If so then I'm a happy guy.

Since the TV series ended with Mulder and Scully on the run from the FBI and talking about being in communication with the dead, I am curious as to how they will be involved in the events of the movie.
http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=3&id=49211The sequel mirrors the passage of real time since the end of Fox's The X-Files TV show. "The truth is, after all that time, Mulder and Scully were different people, and we were different people, so the 'X-File' we came up with five years ago is still the X-File in the movie, but their personal lives--the state of their relationship, all those things--have changed over time, and that was kind of interesting," Spotnitz said.
Easy. The movie will take place in a year between 1993 and 2002.

They kissed numerous times in the series, and this takes place 5-6 years later. It's not a spoiler.
