ok, after watching this film as well as the deleted scenes i noticed there could be a better version of the movie quite easily.
firstly i would add xaviers intro, i know it would feel a lot of intros with the 2 prologues but it just felt much more like the x men films beforehand, sense of familiarity.
i would get rid of the dialogue with logan saying there not readyin the danger room, make him seem his just wandering in there, who is wolverine to say if they are ready or not, hes not the leader.
i would use the scene where pyro tells eric about the cure, it needs the setup to show where the base is otherwise you have absolutely no idea its underground in the forest.
id have beast growl at logan, it seems out of place but why not - its beast dammit
there is a small bit in one of the featurettes on the dvd where storm explains her background to xavier on the balcony - i would keep this, she needs this to give her character a bit of understanding
i would extend the first part of the fight sequence at jeans house where wolverine realises juggernauts power by saying 'holy ****' this felt very much like what he said to deathstrike when she appeared and so its keeping a bit of the humour, then have him stab him in the arm, i wouldnt have any of the storm using her electricity in the house or channeling it through logan, that is just ridiculous
id have bobby and kitty kiss, its a bit more dramatic and interesting for the characters, bit more of a push for rogue to leave as well
id have hank warn trask of magnetos plans as it shows him being pushed away, more on that later
i would have jean sense the girl, this character needed this scene, it shows why she didnt go into battle, it shows jean is within her, the good side is holding back the dark phoenix, yet it also showed her determination in marching into war as the phoenix, the lighting transition was great here to, helped understand why it shuddenly got dark
id have storm create a wave, she needed a large scale power scene instead of close up fighting stuff, id cut the stupid face she makes at the end of the shot tho
i wouldnt have bobby freeze phat but id insert the start of the scene with colossus fighting in the background and then have bobby shoot ice, but then cut to the ice wall he makes to stop the guys running at him, then have colossus smash through this aparent ice wall but it is actually phat
i would have the scene where storm looks at the children and says 'looks like the weather is changing again' this was a nice storm line for me, the fact that beast stays is brilliant due to the fact 2 teachers have died, iceman as a possible teacher is brillaint as well, therefore i wouldnt have logan be at the mansion at all 'the fur ball' line at the end was cheesy and horrible, and logan looking out onto the mansion all happy is horrible, its not like wolverine, id cut to the shot zooming out of the mansion after the scene with storm beast and bobby as it then goes into the bridge being re built.
seconds into the credits after the shock of magnetos powers returning id cut to logan returning to canada, this for me rounded up his journey with the x men, he hasnt become part of them, but hes learnt stuff with them, hes still the same loner, not the happy chappy he was made out to be in x3
therefore sum of his scenes need to be cut in x3, id cut his leader lines, i would cut him tellin the soldiers to cover the doors and the x men to hold the line, they know what to do, he doesnt need to tell storm to create cover she knows what the game, the only line id have him giv a command is tellin iceman to take out his old friend, it would seem stupid to have iceman just suddenly run out from behind the car.
the boarding the x jet scene i would change a little, i would have boby state there is only 6, then have logan say there outnumbered and that they lost sum people and he doesnt want what they stood for to die with them, his standing together calling themselves x men was terrible, id cut this, instead id cut to beast reciting shakespeare, this was brillaint, funny yet touching, then keep everything from there with bobby sayin were in and storm telling logan what to do with jean
i wouldnt have logan say i love you to jean, id have him say, for you jean, then she says save me and he stabs her, i love you is cheesy and not wolverine
id cut his forest scene, unnessasary action to be honest, have him sniff around grab a coat and go watch magneto do his grand speech.
id cut storm and logans bedroom scene a little, id cut where logan walks towards the door and storm stopping him, id just cut to him looking away and storm saying if your with us then be with us, i dont want any mention of wolverine loving people its ridiculous, deep feelings yes but he doesnt admit to love in my opinion, for me cutting wolverines bits above keep the character more intact, and get rid of him seeming to have the spotlight all the time like getting rid of his forest action, cyclops didnt have a sudden action scene on the way to alkali lake so logan should not.
other quick bits i would change is have the guard tell mystique to shut the ***** up, this was brillaint, theres no reason for this apart from its hilarious, so id keep it
the psychic battle is fantastic, really feels like theres a history between them when listening to this, really really would keep this
i would have jean use her bright atomic power at the forest, it makes sense to have eric be threatened by cure darts as he is going to get cured at the end, but her power display was brillaint, it wasnt quite fire but it felt closer to what she did in x2 than anything else.
id have eric ask jean to help in battle, the fact she doesnt like being told what to do shows why she didnt join in really
id have eric torture logan for longer, shows jean nearly breaking, it gives the feeling that shes going to break any minute and then the tension is released when eric is cured, then only for soldiers to come and shoot her, is really suprising that way.

finally although it makes sense to show both decisions of the cure i would not have rogue take it, it shows the characters strength as a person and how she can finally accept herself after 3 movies, it also shows icemans maturity and acceptance of her as he is proud of her for not doing it, have them both hugging is sweet yet still sad, the scene where she does take the cure bobby is really moody, i like the non cure scene as well as he calls her rogue, this is nice as it shows her mutant name is still intact as is her ability
