IIRC, Scott has already revealed his identity to the government during his X-Factor days. So I'm not sure he would be against it

That's right... I forgot they use to work for the government as X-Factor. Although even back then, their identities were concealed behind blue hooded body suits and dark glasses. I think the late 70's was around the time they lost their masks as X-Men/X-Factor, or whoever they were.

if scott is FOR the SHRA, ill hate that guy even more... and i dont know if thats even possible. him being against it wouldve given him some points for me because, on a normal day, i think he should die.

Whatever:o ....Scott a grown man that can make his decision...Bishop is going for the act since he use to work for the govenment...its gonna be him up against Cyclops, who should be against it since he is the headmaster of the Institute

and considering that before all this happened the X-men were US Marshals and part of the government

cyclops is anti registration. just check the marvel website. bishop is pro registration.

why is Bishop Pro?????

that's the big question on everybody's minds. personally it isn't that much of a surprise to me. in his time he was a member of the X.S.E. a highly structured, quasi-government strike force. he had to go through rigorous training before he got to see any action.

Where does it say that? I can't find it.:)

I just makes sense to me that Cyclops would be pro due to how he's handled things recently. If he was going to be anti I would think events leading up to it would point him in that direction but I don't think they have. He has worked for the government before. He's allowed the school to become a prison bascilly with O.N.E seeming to have full control over what happens, even going so far as they are allowd to go through the rooms of X-men living in the mansion. He has allowed the Sentinels to stay around.

Now if he was reall anti I would think he'd be a bit more forceful and against what has happen to the school and would be trying to undo it or forcing them off. Yet I don't think that has happen.

I'm starting to think that the only reason he's being shown as Anti in this situation is because Bishop is on the pro side. It's only logical that Scott, current leader of the X-men would be the one to be on the opposite side. Doesn't mean that he should actually be on that side going by what he's done or allowed to happen I think.

Bishop is ideal to be on the Pro side and due to that, you can't tip things by having Scott on that side either even when he should be I feel. I think naturally as a progression of his character Scott would be Pro but is forcely being writen as Anti.

X-Factor's government days began with havok's team, not Cyclops

i think scott being anti makes sense. yes, he has let a whole lot of s*** go down with o.n.e and stuff, but the SHRA, to him, could be going to far because he knows what it could lead to. the x-men arent about forcing mutants to train and save the world. they give mutants the choice unlike the SHRA whick WILL force ANYONE with a metahuman gene to sign up and train.

Hmm...are you sure? I remember an issue with the first five sitting on the front lawn of the White House.

Let me see if I can find that issue.:)

My understanding of the SHRA-- which could be in error, I admit-- is that it'd only force regular metahumans to sign up. They only have to train if they're going to actively fight crime.

At least, that's how the bill would make sense...

Yes, they were, but it was the last couple of issues with them there, and they were there because Val Cooper and Xavier had called them, to attack the Shadow King, in fact it was the 2 issue of the Muir Island Saga, one more issue of that saga and then, Havok's team

Nonsense. On what planet does the branded guy go Pro-Registration? It doesn't make sense for ANY of the X-Men to go pro-registration, that's the BASIS of the mutant rights the x-men have been dealing with since day 1.

I could be so bold as to infer from the cover that the four origional X-Men on the left would hold to that dream while Bishop and two of the most fringe x-characters around, Shatterstar and Domino, may dare join him.

It's too odd, and I'm almost sure that this must be some sort of ruse on Bishop's part. There's simply no ground for him to fall in line like this. He was a cop, and a government guy, but he was also oppresed because of his DNA as a child. That's not something you can just forget, or help bring to pass...

Here's October's cover

I read the book... and read when the four origionals split off to go handle things... I still think Bishop's excuse is a bit wonky... I'm not sure why he thinks he can make it work, but it's not as bad as I thought it could be... just not as precedented as I'd like...
