Sequels X-Men Live-Action TV Show in Development at Fox

Fox still has Fantastic Four according to EW:

They spoke to Marvel and Fox to confirm.

I can just imagine the response FOX will receive when they announce their FF reboot/sequel/X-Men crossover. It will be FANTASTIC!

Also, to my knowledge, Fox is still developing an X-Factor series.

This ridiculous situation demonstrates why you should wait for the Hollywood trades (THR, Variety, Deadline Hollywood, and Entertainment Weekly) to report on something before you start parroting it as truth.

I doubt that Fox would give up the FF movie rights, for a show about Legion or The Hellfire Club. Now, onto the shows:

I don't know enough about Legion to really comment on that one.

The idea of a TV show centered around villains=Intriguing.

The idea of Emma Frost (or Selene) being the main protagonist (or antagonist=Exciting.

It's just as rediculous to hold these denials as fact as it is to hold the rumor as fact. Fox isn't going to want news of a deal to get out until after F4 gets a DVD release. We won't know anything for certain until either Fox announces a sequel or Marvel announces a deal.

Anyway, as for these TV shows. I really want Bacon to come back. But if he comes back, then they'll probably want Jones too, in which case she will have to really step up her game from last time.

Not really excited for these two shows. I'm just not looking forward on how the X-Men spin-off TV show would do in the ratings in a network like FOX where ratings really matter more to get a renewal and people would dismiss it as a failure if it doesn't get a second season or it doesn't perform beyond expectations. Hellfire also isn't exactly the ideal X-Men spin-off show, they aren't even the most well-known villain group of the X-Men. I hope Emma Frost is in the show.

Legion, eh... but since its a FX show, I could see it lasting longer since its a cable show. I'm also concerned on how these shows would be limited to VFX and action. Like I don't want 13 episodes to 22 episodes per season with more of it are talking and the big stuff are just being saved to the final episode.

But I guess good for the people who wants more from X-Men Cinematic Universe, this is another step for FOX in making their X-Men cinematic universe larger.

I had same thoughts as you.Fox's past with genre shows make me nevroas
with it.Hell i get nevroas about gotham.and FX has never really had much history with genre except for american horror story.

now both shows seem to be avoiding what I criticed agents of shield for just exsisting to promate films.however both may yet fall into agent carter problem.being pointless.Hellfire may be better connected to films than legion but will it come off as doing something that didn't need to be told.

The amount of people at "The Site Which Shall Not Be Named" who actually believe the "reporters" claiming Fox always had the rights is rather bothersome. I mean, the facts aren't difficult to figure out...

Lets just hope they don't bring back January Jones as Emma Frost.

It's not like she's a bad actress, she just slept through that entire movie. I wouldn't mind seeing her come back so long as they keep her on a steady diet of coffee or something.

It's studio spin, an attempt to convince those who haven't been paying attention that there is nothing else to this deal.

There is poential they could bring back emma frost for Hellfire especilly since on DOFP audio commantary Bryan Singer hinted emma frost could return in future despite her apparent off-screen death.and there is opening to use other hellfire club members on show that weren't In First Class.

Oh really? In which part of the commentary did he say that? I haven't had much patience for commentaries.

I also think there is a possibility that Emma could return. Just so the show could be anchored to what the general audience is familiar with.

Hmm I do hope they bring her back IF Emma Frost is indeed in the show. If its pre-First Class, I would like to see Kevin Bacon return too. I would like Rose Bryne to appear in the show to play the lead character however i don't think thats possible since this is TV and she's now into movies.

Problem with setting it before FC is that the movie was set in 1963 so i dunno how much of the 60s they could tell, unless they fit FC continuity mid 4th or 5th season if it gets that far but then how would you explain that to a tv audience

it most likely will be set after FC then they have about 6 ot 7 years worth of the 60s to get through

I wasn't impressed by the Hellfire Club set up in First Class but pretty sure Magneto killing Shaw and recruiting Emma means the end of that group.

And really how interesting could it be without those two.

So I'm fairly certain this will be set before that movie.

*So if they want to set this after 1963 then there would be a fair amount of retconning, which they've shown they're not opposed to.

If they set it after they can and probably will say whatever they like happened since very little is known about the 10 year gap and its not like the movies haven't done them themselves

And to set it before FC means you have at least 3 years of the 60s to explore before 1963 for however many seasons they want to make and thats only if they set it at the ealiest point 1960

Personally i doubt they will use the FC set up hellfire club because it gives the show developers more freedom to do what they want with the show

Good to see this franchise being used to it's full potential

Interesting that they didn't cast Legion yet. Though, that is going to be the key role, so I can understand it taking longer.

But, good to hear casting news. Can't wait to hear more.

In my head, Hellfire would be out-of-continuity with the X-cinematic universe. It would follow Tessa, as an agent for Xavier, to spy on the Hellfire Club.

The series would look at both viewpoints (Xavier and Hellfire Club) through Tessa's eyes, which would have her conflicted at times. The Hellfire Club would come off as anti-heroes where Xavier is more straight-laced and somewhat naive in his viewpoints.

The show would also come to feature the actual first class of X-men, which Tessa would feel excluded from the team. I would also feature the Hellions.

I can't wait to hear more about Hellfire. I would actually like these tv shows to be outside the film universe though.

Great! Any idea who she might be? Hope she's not just a personality of David.
