Sequels X-Men Live-Action TV Show in Development at Fox

There is a cool female personality of him. The one with fire powers, iirc.

My knowledge of Legion is limited to early New Mutants so unless she's that character or his Mom (or Moira), I have no clue.

Yeah I remember that personality too. But I'm not sure about the "human touch" part.
Please don't be Rogue.

In my head, Hellfire would be out-of-continuity with the X-cinematic universe. It would follow Tessa, as an agent for Xavier, to spy on the Hellfire Club.

The series would look at both viewpoints (Xavier and Hellfire Club) through Tessa's eyes, which would have her conflicted at times. The Hellfire Club would come off as anti-heroes where Xavier is more straight-laced and somewhat naive in his viewpoints.

The show would also come to feature the actual first class of X-men, which Tessa would feel excluded from the team. I would also feature the Hellions.

I can't wait to hear more about Hellfire. I would actually like these tv shows to be outside the film universe though.

All we know is that its set in the 60s

it's very unlikely to be out of contunity with films.

if they were doing that don't you think they would do more recognable characters.

we know from legion showrunner

1:Bryan Singer and Lauren SHueller Donnor were pushing for x-men universe expansion to tv
2:Singer and Simon Kinberg talked to him about X-Men universe

everything is pointing at these being more like ABC marvel shows than Cb and CBS and fox DC shows

It will likely be like the daredevil tv series where its in the same universe and you may get the odd reference here and there but for the most part it will be its own thing

Legion will probally be more self contained while hellfire could have connections to FC.

The concept of the show may have a connection to FC but apart from some references it will probably be its own thing

Well unless january jones or just emma frost in general is in it

Well on the bright side there's a script which is in development. So Deadpool, X:A and Legion in 2016, Wolverine, Gambit and Hellfire in 2017.

Losing them to 24 is not a good sign. At this point, 24 is so formulaic that a writer will probably do more interesting things on an X-Men TV show. On top of that, without Jack Bauer, I don't see how it'll have staying power. A Hellfire Club show (particularly on cable with lower ratings expectations) seems a better career move than a 24 show these days.

Supposedly Hellfire lost those showrunners because 24 is happening NOW while Hellfire is still not quite ready. 24 needed them more than X-Men.

So it really is set in its own universe, I Wonder if that counts for hellfire too

FX's Legion Anticipated to Debut in 2016; Series Not Set in X-Men Film Universe

Interesting

"It's not in the continuity of those films in the sense the current X-Men films take place in a universe in which everybody on planet Earth is aware of the existence of mutants," he said. "The series Legion takes place in a parallel universe, if you will, in which the US government is in the early days of being aware that something called mutants exist but the public is not. I wouldn't foresee characters moving back and forth because they really are parallel universes."

I would think so. It'd be a shame for Sebastian Shaw and Emma Frost to not factor into a Hellfire Club show just because of what the movies did with them.

Good. Let's them be more creative. Legion especially would benefit, since it is already a drastic departure. It would be nice for Hellfire as well.

[cue Marvel comparisons and complaints]

I've suddenly lost interest in Legion...

Why? It was always likely to not touch upon the movies anyway. So, this is hardly a big change, with the chance of actually making him Charles' son.

EDIT: Just saw that as of now, Legion isn't using any previously used X-men. So, that is nice to keep it stand alone.

This show is a co-production between Marvel and Fox. It's not set in the Fox film universe. It's specifically in a world where the public isn't aware of Mutants. The public in the MCU would technically qualify as people unaware that Mutants exist... :para:

Y'know, even if the show isn't set in the MCU (it very likely isn't) this technically establishes a multiverse on Fox's side of things that will exist concurrently. They'll actively produce separate versions of the X-Men. If relations really do improve between Fox and Marvel (again, these are co-productions) they just showed a willingness to have Mutants exist in multiple live action "universes".

If Inhumans hadn't previously been established in AOS this would actually make a lot of sense for all concerned. One lone naturally powered human in a world in which abilities come about through government experiments, biological accidents and family squabbles among alien races. But the Marvel TV verse is a tad too crowded now with powered individuals for it to work.
