If that's the case, then X-Factor is the second worst written ongoing in Marvel's main line of comics.

Honestly though, I think Uncanny is written way worse and Avengers potentially. To me, X-Factor is about on par with Generation Hope and Secret Avengers. And as far as what I read those may be the bottom five, so I still think it sells about right.

X-Factor's been consistently fantastic since the renumbering, as far as I'm concerned. It's one of the best comics on the stands (and I'm only saying that partly because it pissed Rob Liefeld off).

Okay,that was stupid. Gischler seems to know how to make these characters talk and banter properly, but he misses the mark on emotional responses and motivations. He's had Cyclops betray Blade to allow an army of vampires to walk the Earth, Wolverine be proud of being used by his commanding officer, and Emma volunteer for a mission in a sewer.

While I like Shatterstar being gay, I don't like that Ricter is now gay - and maybe that's part of why I'm not as into the title as I used to be. I can't stand when they take well established characters and then alter them dramatically. The "I've always been gay, I just didn't KNOW I was always gay" mentality doesn't work for me. He's always been straight... keep him straight. I at least clung to the idea of him being bisexual because that's understandable but David kinda through that argument out the window as well with his recent conversation with Rahne.

Also, while his Shatterstar is cool, his personality isn't anything like it's always been either. That's taken some getting used to.

But that's all minor to me. Mostly for me it's just the plot's been lacking.

Pete Wisdom managed to fight off Dracula's massive army of vampires without betraying the members of his team or using them as pawns. And now thanks to Gischler, I have to say Pete Wisdom is a better leader than Cyclops.

Hey, Scott ran circles around Norman Osborn during the Dark Avengers/X-Men crossover. He was pretty much the first person to get a straight win against Norman during the Dark Reign days. That story is one of the reasons I cannot completely hate Matt Fraction.

That final issue is the one shining Gem of Fraction's run. It really was.

I'll agree with you guys, the crossover with Dark Avengers was the last time I enjoyed something by Fraction (at least X-Men wise). Second Coming was good at first but we got 0 concrete answers about Hope after years and years of build-up. Major let down.....

How will the Messiah save the mutant race? By somehow creating and stabilizing new mutant manifestations.

What are Hope's powers? Mimicking other's powers, creating new mutants, and stabilizing new mutants.

Is the baby really Jean? No.

Why did Bishop think she was dangerous? Still unanswered.

What exactly is her connection to the Phoenix Force? Still unanswered.

Who are her parents? Her mom was a firefighter named Louise Spalding, but her father is still unknown.



I can't think of any other questions I had about Hope.

Stryfe met Hope during Messiah War, and he had no clue who she was at first. When he found out, she was a historical figure to him, just like she was to Cable and Bishop. So he's definitely not the father.

Sinister might be, though. She was born in Alaska, and didn't he work out of there? Plus her DNA somehow contains information for every mutant on Earth, so there's every chance she's a lab experiment.

i think i could go for that. could explain the Marauders involvement in Messiah Complex, him wanting to take back whats his, and he could finally have created his perfect mutant. of course i do prefer it that shes just another mutant and not linked to more X-Men history.
