X-Men - Part 4

I saw that All New X-Men variant as the cover image of an article and got REAL excited. I was so disappointed to learn it was only a varient. The day we actually get a Generation X mini or ongoing... I'll be dancing naked in the streets.

My wife and I are 30 and 31. We've been dating since we were 18 and 19. I love my wife now, but when I see pictures of her at 18... heck, at 15 before I knew her... I still love her... because it's her. If she died and I somehow came accross a 17 year old her I'd be head over heals just the same. Not because of age but because it's her... and that's what matters.

I'd be shocked and very disappointed if Cyke didn't ooh and aah over her.

See, but if you guys divorced, and you saw a 17 year old her a few years from now, the regular thought train would be something like "Wow, she really was gorgeous, no wonder I was attracted to her!" and you feel a little flutter...

but Cyke was all "Oh my god! There she is, she's so gorgeous!... All I ever wanted, standing right in front of me!"

And that to me is 1.) dickish, because you already dumped her, regardless of your headspace at the time, it's too little too late and 2.) still effin' creepy, it's one thing to recognize the attraction, and a whole nother to get hot and bothered over a teenager.

Again, I think it's mainly on the writing.
Cyclops looks like he should just have a raging ***** through that whole scene...

Nah, I think you're putting too much into it. I think it was written fine.

I take the opposite view. I agree with the intention of the scene and that despite all that has happened between Cyclops and Jean, he would still have strong feelings for her and thrown for a loop at her appearance (she is supposed to dead after all). I just think the writing is so unnatural and awful to read. There was clearly a better way to write that scene.

IA and after reading the issue, the writing especially for Jean was pretty good. Unfortuantely I fear she is heading for a breakdown. She is getting thrown through quite a loop

Another great issue by Bendis, although the confrontation was WAY too short. I was really expecting a Cyclops vs Cyclops throwdown...but I suppose Bendis isn't going to blow his wad just yet, he's saving the good stuff.

I'm really loving this book; to me, this is the best the X-men's been in a while, it feels like it's back to basics and yet it is not in any way ignoring what has been going on with the Xmen the past few years. I love how Bendis is so openly acknowledging how much of a *****ebag he has become. I'm very curious as to what his longterm plan for this book is.

my only issue with that is the fact is the book is double shipping. Theres no need to go too fast when its coming out quicker than we've had before. I feel he and others have more time to write more beats to their stories and shouldnt rush or gloss over important confrontations and other similar stuff

So I just saw a page from today's All New X-Men and there's been a (not so) surprising development with Beast:

He's lost his feline form for an ape like one. Mostly the body is ape-ish....the face.....is something different. I'm not sure how to explain it. It's up at Bleeding Cool if anyone is interested.

Its [BLACKOUT]ugly. I hope thats just how Immomen draws it and everyone else does something draws him how he used to look pre-feline. Probably not though bc he was drawing him like that earlier in the issue.[/BLACKOUT]

I never had a problem with the feline look personally but I think they could have kept the [BLACKOUT]claws and fangs at least. He looks like Ultimate Hulk a little bit with furry sideburns and pointy ears.[/BLACKOUT]

cat beast was starting to look more like classic beast... this new best just looks bizzare to me.

This new look makes Beast look like Abomination.

looks like Panthro from the new Thundercats cartoon

I see what yall are saying
But if you compare new beast to 90's beast, he really just looks a little taller and like he got a hair cut... i guess he's a little more grey-blue too

Man, is that thing hideous. Bendis is settling in.

Not really innovative. There's elements from all the past versions of the Beast with a little new mixed in. I wouldn't mind seeing the pointy Wolverine style hair come back.

I really don't f***ing understand the point of that. What, is he gonna become a shape shifter like Animal Man? That would have potential. This feels like the 90s version with a weird head. Whatever, carry on with the Bendis circus of nonsense.

Well, I read the comic. Can't say as I am too happy with this new incarnation. I rather liked Cat Beast. :(

Eh, I'm indifferent. He kinda reminds me of Mutant X Beast without the ears, and blue. I'll give it a couple issues to get used to.

He's got a teeeny little ole head. :( Can't hardly fit all of his brains.

Actually, one apt comparison I saw states that Beast's new look makes him bear a passing resemblance to this guy:

Or at least the head does.

The head maybe but not the rest. Thank God. :p
