X-Men - Part 6

The art on the Xbooks is terrible. Ramos is just as bad as Land in a different way IMO. I hated his last stint. Im not a fan of Bagley's art at all but he's better than those two.

Looks like the X-books are taking a big step backward in terms of art.

Why would they get rid of the ANXM costumes? They were working and these new ones seem odd.

Is teen Jean off of ANXM and on Extraordinary? I don't mind, I like that line-up and Jean needs to play with the big guns. It makes ANXM less interesting though.

The Uncanny cover is intriguing but Land :(

Edit: I just noticed Cyclops, Emma, Magik, and Kitty are no where to be found! :(

Magik is in Extraordinary, I believe

Kitty appears to be the new Star-Lord

Cyclops was on some Uncanny Inhumans art released before Secret Wars started, so he's got some role there

Emma is uncertain though

That was Beast. And the Extraordinary X-Men announcement stated that Cyclops has gone missing in the 8 month gap, and that is part of the story in that book.

Kitty appearing only in her boyfriend's book? My favourite X-man not in an X-book? I'm not a fan of this...

I was worried the X-Men would be removed from the Marvel universe in its entirety, so I consider anything to beat expectations. X-Men lineups change all the time, so I suspect these will change again too.

Good point. I just like Kitty so much that I'd read her book, with Starlord as a supporting character. But I guess Starlord is so hot right now Kitty being associated with him will raise her profile.

The X-books have regressed. In the last two years the X-books have had Immonen, Anka, Pichelli, Mann, Dauterman and other great artists. Now we're back to Land and Ramos?

Anka.

Too bad he isn't the artist.

Greg Land? Ugh. I couldn't stand his tracing in the Ultimate books he did and everything else just annoys the **** out of me the more I see it.

Not a fan of Land or Ramos (though I suppose Ramos has his moments). I've always had a soft spot for Bagely though. He was drawing Amazing Spider-Man when I started comics.

What are the chances that Extraordinary Colossus is the ultimate version? Lol

Yeah, I'd much rather have Land than Bachalo on a book.

Agreed. Bachalo is the reason I'll likely not be getting the new Dr. Strange book. With his powers, Bachalo will probably make a complete mess of damn near every page.

I don't mind Spoilers, but I haven't been following as lately (year or so), so what was the point of bring back the O5 to the present?

So Marvel could write for Jean Grey without having the actual real one resurrected and back in the books

Also to apparently make it seem like it was a massive deal for them to **** around in the present by past Cyclops nearly dying and wiping out present Cyclops but then ignore it totally afterwards.

Thanks for the info!

Guys, don't forget Iceman's gay. And outed in the most invasive way possible. But don't worry, Bendis says it's part of a larger plot...

Not much has been said about Uncanny X-men outside of the terrible art, but I HATE the lineup. It seems like a rehash of Carey's X-men which featured several villians joining the group. Magneto is the only former villian that works as a hero for me. Mystique? Sadistic Sabretooth? WTH? They both failed big time and I dont see why ANYONE would ever trust Mystique. Not sure what the premise is but it almost looks like it will be X-force in spirit with X-men as the name. If thats the case, they should have just made this Uncanny X-force, especially with Psylocke and Fantomex there

I think it may be a bit early to say that Sabretooth's inversion didn't stick.

Though, granted, Mystique on an X-team has never worked out well.

I don't get why Sabretooth would ever be on the same team as Psylocke. He did try to disembowel her the first time they met.

and he succeeded later on. I guess she has a soft spot for him now after CC had her fall for the Exiles version of the character. Puke

Bunn said that fans should be skeptical about the cast of this team, but that there is an explanation for why this crazy team is formed.

I like the idea of Psylock and Mystique on the same team. I don't know if I can handle Land drawing Psylock again, especially if she's back in the swimsuit.

Uncanny X-Men is actually the only one of the three X-Men books I plan on checking out. Extraordinary looks like it might be pretty good, but I have no desire to even check out the other one.

Wasn't Sabertooth one of the villains turned "good" in Axis and kinda stayed that way? Has he shown up in any stories since then?

So this was pointed out recently but the names of the Phoenix Five from AvX spells out *****. You have Peter, Emma, Namor, Illyana and Scott. Nothing part of the current books but it made me giggle.

He's on the Uncanny Avengers cast last I saw.
