Yes but how many times in the last while have they killed him?

He died in Astonishing when he got booted out an airlock, he died at the start of Secret Wars, he died in X3, he died in the Ultimate X-Men books, and I'm pretty sure he died more than that.

I get we have a spare but knock it off already! :argh:

he "died" at the end of Apocalypse: The Twelve

lol...and people talk about Jean

He also died in Uncanny X-Men vol. 3, then Tempus went back into the past to change the future.

I really can't wait for Death of X. Like ugh! finally some answers. And Civil War II: X-Men is quite tamed at this point. I did like that [blackout]Gambit and Fantomex[/blackout] were there in the 2ndissue but still no action/comfrontation with the Inhumans. and isn't just me or are comics today are so short, like I can read the whole thing in less than 15 minutes. Anyway, really looking forward to Death of X, I hope its a good one!

So guys what do you think of Marrow? Like reading some old comics from the 90s I'm still baffled why they dropped the ball on Marrow and she wasn't in the line-up anymore after the Revolution issues. Like out of all the b-lister/c-listers that joined the X-Men, she was one of those few mutants that could have been as popular as Emma right now if only they showcased her more. Like she had these interesting relationships with Storm, Gambit and Cannonball and even if the line-up that she was in (when the Excalibur 3 returned to the X-Men) were all A-listers, she was still noticeable. Then she was in Marvel Vs Capcom 2 videogame, then X-Men Legends in 2004, she almost appeared in X2 and if only Evolution just replaced spyke with Marrow, that would have been a big boost to her popularity. Then Decimation came and she lost her power and then just suddenly appeared in X-Force (which I didn't even pick up) after years of absence.

Other than Marrow, Northstar has potential, he's already popular as the first gay superhero of Marvel but still Marvel isn't utilizing him very well. Dazzler/Longshot are quite popular for a Comic-book character and they got their own series but after the 80s, they weren't in the main X-books anymore as regulars. Like Dazzler got her biggest role in the main X-Men title since the 80s when she became a shield agent but still not enough and now she's on A-Force (which i'm attempted to read). Sunfire too, like I get frustrated that he kept having these guest roles and they couldn't even put him in the team for like 1 whole year and had her sister appeared in the 2000 cross-over instead of him.

Davis ruined her; thats what happened. Anything remotely interesting about Marrow was thrown out the window the minute he made her "pretty." There really wasnt a point to the character anymore as there was nothing there worth picking up on. Claremont made the right decision not placing her on either team during Revolution.

DeciMation was probably the best thing to happen to her as it brought her back to he roots in terms of charcterization

I picked up Generation M but was that her last issue before she appeared in X-Force? Well actually I'm not sure, I think I'm mixing her up with Stacy X who also lost her powers and then appeared in Generation M.

I kind of liked her as the 'rip out bones' version since it helped show just how weird/wrong powers can go but after they made her all pretty she lost most of the interesting things about her.

I'm pretty sure that he died as a Horseman of Apocalypse, also, either before or during, since he was blabbing about it later with Wolverine. (Ah, comics, where friends can get together and talk about all the times they died.)

It's funny that Jean Grey has such a reputation for dying and coming back when she's only 'come back' once, and only died twice, which is weak tea compared to some of her teammates. Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Xavier, who *hasn't* died and come back?

Sadly true. I love me some Alan Davis, but prettying her up ruined her. It's already an uphill slog for a super-heroine who isn't a pinup doll. Look at those Inhumans. Big bulgy head. Goat legs. Scaly fish-dude. Hot supermodel. Hot supermodel with long hair. Somewhere Sharon Ventura, the 'She-Thing' is all, 'What the heck, people! Why am I not She-Hulk levels of popular?'

He's never been a Horsemen. He did merge with Apocalypse in the The Twelve storyline and he was treated as dead after that story

Only one X-book...

Would they really end Uncanny, Extraordinary and All-New in September?

Based on everything I've heard (writers planning new arcs, etc), plus the lack of mention of Old Man Logan and All-New Wolverine, I'm expecting a gap for Death of X and then a relaunch.

Ugh. Couldn't they keep these titles until its 30th issue before doing another relaunch? I just hope its a 1 or 2 months break because of the Death of X series.

why? That would be a year and a half from now

They just started the relaunch of Uncanny this year while all-New/Extraordinary are just turning 1 year old this year. The sales aren't even poor. Its too early for a relaunch. Then story-wise, not much has happened so far for those three to get a relaunch.

Welcome to Marvel in 2016. This is their strategy and has been for the past few years. They did the same thing to Uncanny X-men vol 2 a few years back

Marvel never gave Extraordinary a chance. The books need a relaunch that doesn't focus on extinction. It's all been done before, with much more gravity and build up.

Since I'm doubtful the mist story will end just yet, I do think it would make more sense to relaunch after that story is done.

But we'll see. I'm arguing from a position of no information right now.

Well, they keep on announcing books. No need to panic.

That one lasted for 20 issues and they didn't relaunch ALL X-titles at that time. Even Astonishing X-Men made it to its 68th issue.

I plan on going to the comicbook shop thursday...i was disappointed in myself that I didnt have any cb featuring Psylocke on my shelve...:( so while it has been a while since I read any X-men related stuff...anyone got any good recommendations that are worth picking up?

I wish they would restore faith that X-men are a priority for them. It honestly seems like they are flushing a popular and viable property down the toilet.

it still lasted only a year. It only got to 20 issues bc they double shipped it for several months when it launched

Astonishing X-men debuted 10 years ago. Different time, different Marvel

Well, they can try. Fans and media outlets are keeping a close eye on Marvel's handling of the X-properties. They are on to them. Marvel has given people a lot of reasons to be suspicious.

I dont think Marvel cares. They screwed over the X-men and X-men fans a long time ago. Sales are down and the franchise doesnt resonate anymore like it used to. They are fully aware of this and dont seem invested in the X-line as a whole. It almost seems like it exists as an obligation
