I wonder what her role will be?
my guess is she's still gonna bit messed up in seeing magneto as her dad. she hasn't interacted with the younger time displaced x-men as much as the others so her reaction to young iceman will be interesting too. Seeing that the older version had thing for her at his age and she was the weird start of chain of the many women that weirdly got weird on that one or did to him what happened to peter parker where where the wouldn't have the best of luck keeping dates, when they were younger heroes or those women acted flaky . would just jump to the next guy fast or didn'tknow what they wanted them selves in their dates.

yeah her reaction to this version of young iceman will be interesting. Seeing that this one won't be into her at all if the writers are still having her be cray cray

March 2017 sales
Prime: 83,689

Extraordinary 20: 30,765

I like Xorn too. So many interesting characters in Blue. What is Gold doing?? lol

Glad Prime outsold IvX, even though Prime wasn't so great.

The o5 isn't even a big seller in order to get a new book for themselves. I mean, I would assemble another mutant team for a third team x book. I wonder if it wouldn't outsell Astonishing and Gold by August of 2017.

I am a bit shook that Uncanny outsold Extraordinary. I wonder if it has anything to do with the title? I feel like Uncanny X-Men is the one title that they should keep using. It's weird for me that they aren't using it anymore.

Uncanny has always sold better than Extraordinary bc its the better book.

Really? But anyone could argue that it has the more families faces like Logan, Storm, Jean, Iceman, Colossus. I feel like those mutants would sell more copies than a X book featuring M and Sabretooth. I think Uncanny X-Men just sounds more appealing and commercial.

Anyway, I wish they didn't go back to #1 again. I know that is Marvel's tactic nowadays to do #1s every year because it gives them bigger sales for a month or two. But I just miss the old numbering and I feel like its much better to see the X-Men evolve issue per issue. Instead of "oh we are gonna do another relaunch again, time for a new status quo and rosters" even if the timing isn't right yet.

Yes really. Extraordinary X-men was awful. It had a great cast but Lemire did absolutely nothing interesting with any of the characters and wrote some of the worst versions of them in recent history. It didnt help that the artwork sucked as well. I was skeptical about Uncanny going in but Bunn is a much talented writer. The plotting was much better and he had interesting dynamics between the team. This was Land's best art work and Lashley made for a great secondary artist. Uncanny was clearly the star of the line

Well, I know the alt-right is just going to LOOOOOOVE X-men Gold. Definitely a step up over last issue. Though I am curious at how the Brotherhood will play out. Confirmation on new Pyro and Avalanche, and a surprise 6th member, though it hints that there is another one still to come.

I do appreciate Molina making the Blue team look younger than others have.

I really enjoyed Beast in Blue this week. I also enjoyed the dynamic with Magneto and I thought the Sentinels were cool. That is also the third time they've used "The more things change, the more things stay the same". It sums up the current story lines pretty well, but it does feel weird having three different characters say that same line. The conversation between Kitty and Erik at the beginning felt a bit sloppy. Warren also deserves some love.

As far as Gold goes, the New Brotherhood was enjoyable and they looked good visually. I also really liked the escape scene with Old Man Logan. Lydia Nance is a new face for the age old problem, but I do like what they are doing with her so far. The low point of this week goes to the line 'what the flaming #@$%'. No. Just no. :woot:

X-men Blue 2: Nice character moments and dialogue that are setting up a really interesting, long burning story. Jean and Magneto, and the ending reveal were standouts. The art was gorgeous.

X-men Gold 2: Really fast-paced and exciting story. It's telling a political story, and I read X-men comics for this exact kind of commentary so I'm happy with it.

It's nice to see Magma after a long time! Gold though is quite been there done that. And personally, X-Men shouldn't be in this state. They are so much more interesting than they are in these recent comics. Not really into the 2017 edition of the Brotherhood, Pyro, Avalanche, the Sentinels and the X-Cutioner... Its like they ran out of new ideas for the villains. Also, the artwork looks dated.

Blue is written better, love the new costumes but I really hope whatever Ferris is working will finally send the o5 into where they came from.

They're never going away, are they?
We're gunna be stuck with em forever, no good fighting it...

They wont. If and when they end them, they'll likely be merged with their older counterparts. Scott and Jean especially serve as convenient plot points that could be used to resurrect the dead versions. Im fine with that, although I really would want Hank to survive bc he is 200% better than the old blue Beast. Those two have had the biggest deviation to the point that they are completely different characters. Young Beast doesnt feel like counterpart to the older version. Wasnt a fan of Hopeless' ANX, but he is the one character that benefited the most from that run

Jean is set up for some great character development.

As much as I hate the O5 being here, i think I'm going to have to check out the Jean Grey solo. It looks pretty great. And I saw in the preview for next week's Gold that Rockslide and Armor are getting in on the action, but still considered students. Indra, Anole, Shark-Girl, Genesis and some others popped up but got left behind.

That makes absoluitely no sense as they graduated back in WATX v1. I feel like every time these kids pop up, the next writer just hits the reset button on them and makes them students again

Just be glad they haven't created the "next generation" of students yet...

I feel like they kinda did multiple times since the New X-men. Generation Hope, WATX weirdos, Scott's trainees adn now Generation X which be a mix of several of these groups

Agreed, I really like how they've handled Hank as well. :)
