X-Men - Part 8

Where are Iceman and Colossus, have they said?

Iceman is going to show up in Extraordinary soonish. Colossus has only been shown to be playing chess online with Illyana.

Ah thanks
that's a worthwhile use of Colossus :whatever:

So yeah, I love Psylocke as written by Alyssa Wong. Really feeling the need for X-men waning.

Terrible article.
So confidently wrong too.

(...) returning to the uncertainty and excitement of a world where mutants were on the verge of extinction would do the X-Men series some good.
That's like a Tuesday for Mutants at this point.

Really feeling the need for X-men waning.
I feel like we just keep ending up in a situation where the main flagship title is pretty weak.

The crossover has reduced my excitement for Uncanny a little bit, but I'm sure things will be back to form next issue. That cover looks great! NYX continues to be a standout. Really liked issue 7. If the rest of the era was closer to that, I think I'd be a bit more enthusiastic. The recent reveals regarding Xavier and the Avians don't have me super excited.

There are quite a few books in the current lineup that it could do without, but of course, it has to be NYX that's ending at #10. Three more issues and one of them is an X-Manhunt tie-in. Really trying to kill my excitement, I guess. :skull:

And NYX#8 was perfection too.

Especially for a NXM fan like myself.

Yeah, I'm incredibly annoyed that it's ending so soon.

At least the latest Storm issue has more forward momentum, but odds are the crossover kills some of that too.

It appears that NYX, X-Force, and X-Factor are the first casualties. I find it fascinating that Phoenix made the cut. Gives me hope for Psylocke and Magik. Both are books that I really enjoy at the moment.

Yeah both Psylocke and Magik have been solid. Im surprised with how much their doubling down on Solo series/minis these days. Emma's heavily rumored to be getting the next solo...which is good. Emma is always fun...especially under the right writer.

I dropped X-Force when they killed off Surge for no real apparent reason, and X-Factor while giving me some senible chuckles here and there just didn't feel genuine at times.

I'll miss NYX a lot. Though it was not without its own pacing issues. Trying to cram what should have been a 25 issue story into 10 issues hurt it a lot.

Lot of stale X-Men vs X-Men stuff in the crossover so far. Still hate that NYX is ending, but at least Storm was renewed up to (at least) #15 apparently.

Yeah, Manhunt is very X v X when the premise seems to be Xavier trying to save his daughter. Which Deathbirds appearance reminds me we have a lingering Summers out there.

I am curious if Hickman's new cosmic reboot is going to use Phoenix. While the book is under the X editor, it very much is a cosmic book.

So the /xmen reddit forum is making this top 20 X-Men stories fan vote. Thought this was cool since this is mostly how I read X-books, through story arcs.

And saw some surprises there, like the original Magik miniseries.

X-Men: Mutant Genesis by Claremont & Lee remains one of my favorite X-Men stories. For me, it just epitomizes classic X-Men.

Back when Jean was dead for a long stretch too, I really enjoyed Phoenix: Endsong just because I was sick of the Scott / Emma romance.

While not technically X-men, one of my favorites is still Uncanny X-Force
Great comedy, great action thanks to some beautiful art by Jerome Opena, wonderful use of continuity/canon, hard hitting emotional beats for all the characters, and the best ever depiction of Deadpool imo.

I agree. Remender was able to write Deadpool by still keeping him funny/crazy at times but without being obnoxious. Which made it better, when you had the serious moments with him, like with Ethan's death messing him up and bothered no one else seems to care.

Yay, Maddie is coming to Magik's book in June.

As tuned out of the Doom event as I am, I am kind of curious how Onslaught is on his Avengers team.
