X-Men - Part 8

Congrats on Rachel and Kitty making the cover.

Seems like a lot of female x-characters are bi now
but Marvel lacks the cojones to have bi males

Finally had a moment to get caught up on my books.

Nice to see Lilandra's resurrection is going to tie directly to Hickman's Imperial. Nice to see Xavier caring about one of his kids. Hickman's Imperial cosmic story has to use Jean, right?

I really do enjoy the Outliers in Uncanny, but it was fun for a little back story for Gambit.

Really am enjoying Magik and Psylocke.

I've mostly been reading digital since I'm running out of space, but it's odd how Raid on Graymalkin / X-Manhunt issues are collected.
If we take UX as an example:
  • Vol 1 collects: FCBD: Blood Hunt / X-Men, 10 pages of X-Men #35, UX #1-6
  • Vol 2 collects: UX #9-10, #12-16
So issues #7, #8 and #11 would be missing if you only grab UX. Similarly, Storm goes #1-5 and then #7-12. That honestly makes me want to stick with digital even more.

Murewa Ayodele dropped two spoilers about the next big crossover event.

1. His issues 14 and 15 coincide with the next big event.
2. The crossover is already 'revealed' in the Timeslide comic.
We already covered:
  • The Eternal Storm
  • Who waits within the last egg?
There's a few options from the list:
  • Age of Revelation
  • Who would trade away [their] immortality?
  • XVX (please no)
  • 3K Gene Bomb
The 3K thing is definitely for Jed MacKay's book. So I guess we're heading towards Age of Revelation. Especially since Relevation gets featured quite prominently in that comic as well.

Catching up on my books, I'm sort of getting uncomfortable with the direction X-men is going with their 5G storyline....

Uncanny is interesting, and I really do enjoy the Outliers.

Psylocke continues to be great, should be finding out soon if it continues.

Looking forward to seeing the family focus on the next arc of Phoenix. Nice of Cable to give Maddie the respect of calling Jean his stepmom.

Its dsrespectful to Jean and the relationship they have and has been established since he was a baby. The writer unfortunately is missing important details regarding the two which has me concerned about how she'll handle their interaction

Considering Maddie is alive and well, and not trying to kill him again, I don't see it as disrespect. Yeah, Jean raised him, but she is still his stepmom.

He has no relationship no has he been shown to want to change the status quo of that. Jean is his mother and its how he's viewed her

Insane difference in quality between Giant-Size X-Men and UX #15 this week.

Im so tired of Kamala being inserted into everything X-Men. I know they've now made her a mutant but...lord having to insert her into their past now to? And having Scott remember her was stupid.

Im expecting a twist that reveals that she's not actually visiting the X-men's past bcc as it stands it makes no sense. She's altering and messing up the future by inserting herself the way she is and no on seems concerned . Xavier's reaction to her seems off

The X-Manhunt stuff wasn't great for the pacing, but Storm issue 9 did a nice job connecting and streamlining things. The scope of this book is still way beyond what I expected a Storm solo could be.

Excited for Thunder War!

Is there a good place to see upcoming solicits? All the websites I used to go to to see them are gone now...

Finally starting to get caught up on my books. Currently kind of tough to get to my store. But so far, the Giant Size issues have been fun. Interesting teases at the end of both issues too.

Only issue is I think would have liked a bit of a hint about Vulcan's rescue team. Also, someone forgot that actually wasn't Jean in Dark Phoenix.

No they didnt. She was in that story

No they didnt. She was in that story

Don't forget the retcon they did to bring her back for X-Factor. The real Jean Grey was still at the bottom of Jamaica Bay, and the Phoenix creates a duplicate that essentially believes itself to be Jean until it kills itself in Dark Phoenix Saga. The point being, the plot of GSX, that the Phoenix somehow separates itself from its own created body to join with Dark Legion is funny.
