I think this poll hasn't been done, so let's see what superherohype users want...

Who would you preffer for the director of X-men 4?

Ridley Scott, or maybe a director who's good enough on handling ensemble stories. And who's a fan of X-men.

When I watched The Italian Job, I thought the director Gary Gray really managed an ensemble cast greatly, giving everyone time to shine. And he also nailed the action wonderfully, giving a great tone to the remake.

Another one I can think of is Paul Haggis, director of Crash. He also did great with the ensemble cast. I don't know if he can do good action, but since he wrote Casino Royale, maybe he can.

The dream situation would be having Singer back, but hey, it's Impossible.

Tim Burton for god's sake!!! Or Paul Dini.

:p

Why is Singer impossible? Because of the Superman franchise?

yeah^ but i still voted for him

i wanna see emma dammit!!

what if matt vaughn came back and actually directed a movie lol

Thank god no-one voted for Ratner. :cmad:

I voted Bryan Singer, :oldrazz:

I think they should definetly get Singer back, he created the tone for the movies one that Ratner or maybe no other director can re-create

I'd like to see Bryan come back. I love all three movies, but I think the best directing was probably Bryan's.

Brett an we get an X4:word:
each film has been better than the last:cwink:

 please....no
unless if you arent a fan of the comic i could understand but otherwise,if you are a fan of the comics, than no
i dont want to have to go into detail of why not to bring him or the writers back, its pretty self explanitory

i wouldn't mind having brett do an x-4, but i would like to see new writers. he did a very good job with the time he had. and after seeing superman returns i wouldn't like to see singer nowhere near x-men. he just isn't good at making big movies.

I'm not sure at all what I'd want. Bryan Singer films were good, but had some flaws, like Scott, no mutants in the cities, interaction with humans, action in the city... But I think I would like to see a new sequel mady by him, to see what he can do with the new characters as Angel, Kitty and with Rogue too. So I voted for him. But a director really fan of the comic wouldn't be a bad choice.

every movie has flaws, you will never never EVER find a perfect movie

Raimi, Jackson, a director who is truly a fan of the X-men. Anything short of that and the X-men will once again get half-assed on the big screen.

For the love of god, no Bryan Singer. Yes, X2 was fun, but it wasn't X-men. Jesus, you'd think Singer's film were definitive X-men films, when in reality they fell way short for whatever reason or excuse.

X-men deserved such a better big screen representation......

Marvel has got to make things right with a total restart. Give us a real X-men movie.

Tim Burton for god's sake!!! Or Paul Dini.

that would actually be kinda cool, especially if they did a darker story like the REAL phoenix saga or AOA

Guillermo del Toro is a monster/mythology fanatic so X-Men isn't for him.

Raimi is likely burned out from Spider-Man and probably doesn't want to do more superheroes!

Zack Snyder likes edgier stuff, so X-Men isn't for him. And he would be tonally VERY different from the previous X-movies.

Ratner needs more patience, a more serious and perfectionist approach (no cheesy dialogue, enough takes to get scenes perfect) and more input from the franchise's custodians (Winter, Arad, Shuler-Donner). He didn't do as badly as many seem to think. X3 could have been much, much worse.

Singer needs to read more comics, correct a few things, bring a little warmth and light at times, and he'd be okay.
