XAVIER: The Official Character Discussion Thread

I remember that parky interview. They showed the scene with Mystique and Wolverine in the tent, and when she morphed into Stryker the audience thought it was supposed to be some kind of gay reference and laughed their little heads off.
:D:D lol

Can anyone sum up what Patrick talked about...important stuff only PLEASE!

Well seen as though before hand they said "Patrick Stewart is here with us to talk about the upcoming X-Men 3". Then when the program started and Richard and Judy were announcing what was on in the show, we had footage from X-Men 3 and once again, we were told Patrick Stewart was on to talk about it. Finally, they played the trailer before even speaking to him about anything.

I'm sorry but that is pretty big indications that it was his main priority so I would have preferred a more indepth look at it. Yes, he can talk about other projects but in my opinion we should have had more talk on X3. That's all. :o

You don't need to put a little red face at the end of your post. I didn't even see it all. Mainstream media tend to go into lots of different things for their guest rather than just a superhero movie.

Hm. I wonder how Xavier'll die (if he does get killed). Will he just...vanish? Or explode into bacon pieces? I wonder. :p

this may possibly be when we see that quick clip of Magneto screaming as debris and wind is flying around. maybe he sees right as Phoenix takes out the Professor and she holds him back making him helpless. this would undoubtedly lead to the end of the movie... the funeral. it's gotta be for Prof. X. who else would it be for? Cykes?

it's obvious Cyclops who's gotten no credit to his true comic character in the trilogy will get wasted early or at best midway through the film. we don't see him in the final fight which I think is ****ing lame, and how funny is it that we see Logan, Storm, and Xavier in the med lab scene after Phoenix's escape but not Cyclops once again. you'd think he of all people would be there wondering what happened. in fact all we see of Cyclops is at the Lake. Phoenix probably ****s him up good and early. Cyclops was never a favorite of mine, but he is a great X-Men and was the leader aside Xavier which they ripped out of the films. Marsden should've *****ed about his character being disrespected and gotten a bigger part like Halle did for Storm who we clearly see has gotten more and better screen time. I mean Storm finally really flies in this movie, ya can't even really count the last time, in the first movie! when she comes up the elevator shaft. it's too brief for justice.

Marsden was a horrible cast for Cykes anyway imo. good riddance to a bad apple with no stem.

he's prob lifted off his chair & disintegrated... though i'm in the camp of people who hope he survives. i have a feeling the funeral scene is in honor of the professor.

*sighs*

Don't assume. We haven't seen the movie yet, only the trailers and footage.

I can't believe that Professor Xavier would be killed by Jean. That never happened in the comics and I don't think they'd stray from the content of the comics THAT much. The only reason she's going to possibly kill Scott is because James Marsden was too busy with Superman. I think Xavier is the only one who can stop Phoenix, maybe he dies at the end due to fighting her but I don't think Phoenix would just demoleculorize him. There is some part of Jean in there - there has to be. Otherwise the only way of stopping her I suppose is if she gets the cure?

I think the trailer is a little misleading on purpose. She probably lifts him out of his chair and takes him somewhere and Wolverine and Storm come along and find his empty chair and assume he's been destroyed?

Then again, maybe I'm just being hopeful...!

Damn! I missed it. I saw BB's summary but what exactly did Stewart say about the young Xavier and Magneto scene?

sounds good, i like that better, gives a good cliffhanger:up:

he just said that they were made to look significantly younger. Judy then asked about digital effects to do that and such but Patrick kept tight lipped and Judy said something like 'oh I understand if you cant talk about it'. Thats basically it

I'm convinced "The last Stand" is like when people say "this is the last straw!"(maybe draw, but internet doesn't agree :P)

It's not really the last one, but your just fed up and not holding anything back, like magneto shows.

Maybe?

At the sametime, I don't like the title of the "Last Stand". SUre, it doesn't mean that it's the last one, but it's very misleading, and FOX could of avoided it.

I think this scene is crucial and should be done right. I want to be a pyshic battle, where the fight takes place in the astral realm like it was done in the animated series. The proff grew into a huge giant, wrapped his hands around the phoenix and binded her. I dont want to be in the physical realm because it be too much, and scott already gets democulized. It would be cool if Jean just kills Xavier in his mind.

I'd rather Xavier get killed off than Cyclops. :o
