Although his first WHC reign back in like 2008 was a mess.

I remember going to Raw and he wrestled Batista in a non-title dark match after the show. It was basically a squash. I remember at least for that particular show, Punk was booked like he was like #4 man on the Raw totem pole behind Cena, Batista, and JBL (Orton was out with an injury at the time). I remember trying to get CM Punk chants going and it basically just being me and the two guys I was with.

And look how many people became Punk fans after The Pipebomb. Fu**ing bandwagoners!

Well yeah. :funny:

They took the cuffs off Punk and let him control his character. In 2008, Punk was pretty much the typical babyface. Starting in 2009 with his first heel turn, Punk was given control of his character and as a result, his star rose and became what it is now. Once fans saw what Punk could really do, once he stood out from the pack, they flocked to him.

Punk created his success for himself instead of the other way around.

I've been a Punk fan since I saw his Dog Collar Match with Raven at ROH Death Before Dishonor 10 years ago. :o

I hope the crowd takes a massive dump on the main event of WrestleMania if if it just involves just Cena, Orton, and Triple H. I don't mean to pick on Randy but he doesn't deserve the WrestleMania 30 spot. The guy just hasn't done much the past few years and Punk and Bryan have surpassed him. It even looked as though WWE was grooming Sheamus to take his spot as the face of Smackdown for awhile. He was irrelevant for a long time and WWE is booking him terribly in recent weeks. The last great thing Orton has done was his attack on Miz, and he's just not someone Cena should be worried about.

I've been a fan since 2006. I went back and started watching his indy stuff because I was impressed by him in ECW.

Ben Wyatt needs to be the WWE's head writer.

Both WWE and TNA make me want to pull the hairs out of my head, but I gots the alternatives to keep me content. ;)

That's all well and good, but not all of us like Rizzoli & Isles as much as you do.

I'm not buying DVD's all the time. I watch ROH because they have a TV deal and I ry to watch other promotions, but it's hard because I can't follow things as closely as I'd like.

I didn't know about it at first, but you can't go two steps in his website without running across your R&I fan fiction. :(

That's what has ruined the Marvel Cinematic Universe for me. I can't get passed all the Stony fan fiction. :csad:

I became a Punk fan when I was searching for Homicide matche online (I was really into TNA at the time) and found the "You're a ****e!" match.

I THINK when I watched that, Punk was in WWE development (OVW at that point, maybe?), and was brought up to main roster soon after.

Im still holding out hope for Cena vs Punk as the Mania main event. And while it may not be too popular an opinion, I definitely think John Cena should be in the headlining match at Mania XXX.

I have no problem with Cena in the main event, but it should be Punk or Bryan getting the win in the main event.

Absolutely, it would be asinine not to put Cena in the WrestleMania 30 main event. He's earned that spot, but we need someone else across from him for the non-Cena fans to invest in.That's why it should be Punk or Bryan. Who am I suppsed to support in a Cena vs Orton match?

Well, I know I personally became a fan of his in his later days of ECW. I could tell this guy had a spark and the skill and charisma to go far if he was given the chance, and thankfully he was. He's gone on to become one of my top favorites of all time.

Agreed.

I want the top 2 guys facing off.

and the top 2 guys are John Cena and CM Punk.

And isn't Mania the whole reason they have been kept away for each other for this amount of time?

If the WWE goes by that, then Vince McMahon isn't really Vince McMahon.

Nah, it would be like after those awesome Wyatt family promos, you find out Bray is actually just Naked Mideon.
