Who here is a fan of this movie

The best Billy the kid movie in my opinion

I am definitely in the minority because I've always felt the second film was better than the first. Even though the second film wasn't exactly historically accurate.

However, I still feel like the second film was far superior to the first. I think Young Guns II contained much more mature performances by the actors. Along with the first film, it contained an awesome cast including Emilio Estevez, William Peterson, Christian Slater, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips, James Coburn and Viggo Mortensen.

Both Young Guns movies were very enjoyable for their time. I got the Bon Jovi inspired soundtrack to the second movie also.

Damn, I didn't know Viggo was in that.

Ya, he plays a small role as one of the county's hired guns to ride with Pat Garrett and exterminate Billy The Kid

Yeah, those two movies are pretty good. They are really a good 'gateway drug' into westerns and being able to appreciate them more.

Actually, the best gateway drug into westerns is High Plains Drifter. It has the supernatual involved, a midget, and they literally paint an entire town red. All things that could attract a novice western fan.

As for Young Guns, they're okay but I've grown to think less of them. Emilio's Billy the Kid is too pretty and the films are too 'rock & roll' with far too many bad attempts at humor. Both are know better than two stars.

I loved both movies.
Here's a little trivia. In the first movie, Pat Garret was played by Patrick Wayne (John Waynes son). Apparently, he was offered the role in Donners Superman, but turned it down because his father was sick.

Kiefer Sutherland's in them. How can they not be awesome? :woot:

I can't watch the part where he dies in the second one. Charlie Sheen's death in the first one got to me, too.

Wasn't there a Colin Ferrel movie that basically copied Young Guns...I think it was American Outlaws or something

I see this thread was bumped because of a tweet that has now been deleted. Please don’t tell me they are remaking these movies. The originals were perfect.

I’ll fight anyone who say Emilio didn’t deliver an Oscar-worthy performance as Billy the Kid.

Ahhhh interesting. Since the second film is based on speculation that Billy in fact didn’t die at the hands of Pat Garrett, I guess you could do a third one featuring an older version. Though I think they might need to change the title to “Old Guns” or “Middle-Aged Guns” lol.

Massive part of my childhood these flicks. Did you see the size of that chicken? :D

Wow would be something getting a third movie in this franchise, but after how good Bad Boys 3 and Bill & Ted 3 turned out I certainly wouldn’t dismiss it.

He posted a poster as well that got deleted, but here it is with what I assume is a working title. Notice the Young being all shot up lol

Didn't all of them except possibly Billy die in 2 though? Hope they dont mess with that in any way.
