Yeah but you keep harping back to it, like he's missing something because of that.
As I stated before, for action shows it's icing on the cake. And I like my cakes with icing.
On a broader point, typically I expect certain power feats to occur with those with those specific powers. You expect a feat of strength to come from the one with super-strength; a psychic willpower feat from the team psychic, the bad ass action sequences from the powerless action person, and so on. While "COLDHEARTED" and other episodes and shows do showcase speed fine enough when all someone is doing is running, it usually isn't regarded much of a factor in combat. So it can become a peeve when the only time you see anyone utilizing super-speed in battle competently, it is a character where super-speed is one of MANY powers like Superboy or Superman.
Except Sportsmasters "shot" against Wally wasn't definitive. By your same token, Sportsmaster is tougher than Vandal Savage; since SM was shown to be able to anticipate better than Savage was. Hell by that same token Kid Flash is better in combat against Chesire than the others because he's knocked her off her feet the most times in the series thus far. You seem to rarely take context or circumstance in to consideration when making judgements like these.
A debate on whether Sportsmaster is a better fighter than Vandal Savage is an interesting one. Just because Savage is immortal and a brilliant strategist doesn't mean he has to be the greatest fighter on earth. If anything, Savage here is a better fighter here than the Savage who showed up in Bruce Timm productions.
I am aware of mitigating circumstances. In "COLDHEARTED" Vandal Savage wasn't trying to kill Kid-Flash, merely delay him. Allowing him to land some hits played into that, one could argue. Kid-Flash was more liable to stay longer if he seemed he was defeating a notable villain after all.
I wouldn't disagree that Kid-Flash has done better against Cheshire than most other characters. He's usually the only one who's actively fought her besides Red Arrow and Artemis. Still, Sportsmaster took Wally out in "USUAL SUSPECTS".
Bereft and a couple of scenes in Infiltrator (when Artemis is struggling against her sister) say hi.
"BEREFT" is a mixed bag in that regards. Saves Artemis from tank shots, does the obligatory "trip on a rock" scene later on.
Steamroll? Terrors aside, most of his victories over someone required effort on his part or something/someone to assist him. Hell even when he had the patch in Performance, he got defeated by Parasite.
He beats Match in "AGENDAS". I don't mind that Superboy's battles have been challenging. Maybe steamroll wasn't the best word, but it's beyond debate that at least physically, Superboy's the most powerful member of the team; Miss Martian is if one regards psychic powers as physical.
His name in the credits was Scarface, not the puppet though. Personally I thought that was a middle of the road episode. Hell there was also some stuff in that episode that was cut for time. Like Bullock in his high school football days and his Dad chastising him for being a team player.
I liked that episode. Shame about the edits, though, that'd have made it better.
But what was the detriment to his character just because he didn't get it right away? You didn't get to see it sooner? That's not a character flaw, that's a viewer flaw in having a lack of patience.
I think it was a detriment because for almost the entire season Kid-Flash comes off a certain way because the audience hasn't seen that other side of him at all. For most of the season until "COLDHEARTED" Kid-Flash does more talking the talk than walking the walk. Plus, most shows typically cover the basic development of their core cast early on. The "oh, super speed is actually useful" episode shouldn't be in the third leg of the season.
I'll be honest, only she and Beast Boy have really done anything for me, as far as the new characters go. At least so far.
Tim Drake/Robin II is pretty much a cipher as far as character goes.
Lagoon Boy only has being attached to Ms. Martian as far as interesting characterization goes. Though that and him being taken prisoner could go somewhere interesting.
Bumblebee, had a decent buildup last season but her and her boyfriend Mal Duncan haven't left an impression on me. Though Weisman did confirm that he would be taking over the Vox persona from the comics this season.
Batgirl is basically the same as Bumblebee for me. Though I enjoyed her teasing Dick in Beneath, and there might be something interesting between them this season.
The only two I don't really care for are Blue Beetle and Impulse.
Eric Lopez's accent is something I'm finding hard to overcome. As it comes off as pretty grating for me. Considering he did pretty good as Mark Allen in Spectacular Spider-Man makes it even more disappointing.
Impulse is probably my least favorite character in the entire series to date so far; for reasons I've gone over many times. Sorry, the teddy bear "hug me" characterization does nothing for me. Though I'm glad that entire character is an act, and maybe he'll ditch it eventually, but I'm not holding my breath on that.
I don't altogether disagree with you. It seems our haggling is on which characters we'd have edited out. I wasn't overly eager to see Blue Beetle here even though I do like him in the comics, and Impulse I can't stand even if it is an act. I do agree that Robin (Drake) and Lagoon Boy are ciphers. Hence why dumping in so many new characters in a shortened season is rarely ideal.
Who? I saw you bring it up a couple times last season, but I don't remember anyone else bringing it up much, if at all.
You're going to make me dig through a year's worth of posts? It's come up once or twice since last season. Some people (or maybe 1-2) thought "COLDHEARTED" would bring up the legacy aspect.
