Sequels Young X-Men (My Script)

Coming soon:

The first major fight, involving Storm and Logan. And more about Rogue's dilemma. Will she be able to bring herself to tell Bobby that her powers are returning? All that and more, very soon... :cwink:

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – HALLWAY – AFTERNOON

Rogue is walking through the hallway, her face a mixture of emotions: confusion, hurt, insecurity…

She knocks on a door, walks in and finds… no-one.

ROGUE
Bobby?

She looks back, and sees KITTY AND PETER walking through the hallway. She calls out to them.

ROGUE
Kitty! Pete!

They look back as she rushes up to them.

KITTY
Hey, Rogue.

ROGUE
Have you guys seen Bobby?

PETE
He’s outside.

EXT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – GARDENS – MINUTES LATER

BOBBY is playing Frisbee with BERZERKER, JULIAN and JONES. They spend a few moments, passing it to each other. Bobby… then Ray… to Julian… then back to Bobby…

But their game is interrupted when ROGUE calls out.

ROGUE (O.S.)
Bobby!

Bobby turns to face Rogue, who is climbing down the stairs on her way towards him.

JONES (O.S.)
Look out!

Again, Bobby turns, just in time to see THE FRISBEE LAUNCHING RIGHT FOR HIM. Bobby raises his hand, and releases a JET OF ICE. The Frisbee is frozen in mid-air, and falls to the ground with a THUD!

Bobby smirks at the others. He shrugs.

BOBBY
Rematch?

The boys grumble, as if to say “Yeah, whatever” and they wander off, as Rogue catches up with Bobby.

They peck each other on the cheek.

BOBBY
Hey. What’s up?

ROGUE
Bobby… there’s something I need to tell you.

Bobby tilts his head. This sounds serious.

ROGUE (CONT’D)
I… this is hard to explain.

BOBBY
Whatever it is, I’ll understand. It’s okay.

Rogue takes a deep breath, and announces:

ROGUE
My powers are coming back.

Bobby is speechless; he is almost bowled over.

BOBBY
I… can’t believe it.

ROGUE
Neither could I. But it’s true. Mr McCoy said there wasn’t any other explanation for the way I’ve been feeling.

She looks deeply at Bobby, her gaze determined and STEELY.

ROGUE (CONT’D)
I’m gonna be a mutant, again.

Then suddenly she breaks into tears, and collapses into Bobby’s arms, who is utterly stunned.

BOBBY
Rogue, I…

ROGUE
But – you’re okay with it, right?

BOBBY
Rogue… I never wanted you to take the cure in the first place. But now… I don’t know what to say. I can’t deal with this, Rogue, not now. I… I’m sorry.

With that, Bobby wanders off, disappearing in the lush gardens, his head hung solemnly. Rogue stares after him, hurt and alone. She sniffles.

ROGUE
(Whispering)
Yeah… I’m sorry too.

She disappears too, back up the stairs and into the mansion.

Oooh poor Rogue and Bobby :(
Well written...
I really liked it.
Great job.

Cool, cool. Thanks for the nice comments. It makes me feel happy knowing people like reading it as much as I did writing it. :woot:

Okay, next few posts should be sometime tommorrow. It's late here, so I won't be able to post anymore now.

Keep your eyes peeled for:

That first major fight with Storm and Logan. And Marrow, one of the captive mutants, explains all about Hodge's sinister plans. :cwink:

I know how you feel :)
It is a great feeling
To bad I can not write this week....
Study Study and study this week :(

Cheers for all the nice comments! :) I'm really pleased you all like it. More will be up soon. :cwink:

INT. GENOSHA – CAFÉ – DAY

It is a pleasant day; the sun floods through the open windows. As we pan through the café, past laughing seniors and joyful children, to a COUPLE IN THE CORNER.

It’s STORM AND LOGAN, two cups of coffee on their table. They are smiling about something.

STORM
You don’t get coffee like this back at the Institute.

LOGAN
No.

STORM
I wonder what they’re up to now.

LOGAN
I have my fair share of ideas… but I wouldn’t like to jinx anything.

Storm giggles. Logan takes a sip from his drink.

STORM
Who would have thought it? Back home, we can’t even step out of the Institute gates without being discriminated against. But here, a few thousand miles away, is a place where “prejudice” doesn’t even come into the equation.

LOGAN
Well, people are brought up differently. We just have to teach people, that we’re here to stay.

STORM
If only it was that simple. Living in Cairo, some days… I didn’t know how I was going to cope. But then, I met the Professor, and he just… made everything go away. No sorrow… no grief… just peace. I wish I could do the same.

LOGAN
No one’s expecting you to. We all just have to do our bit, that’s all. Let’s just take it one day at a time…

STORM
I never knew there was this side of you, Logan.

Logan looks at her, cautious.

STORM (CONT’D)
You’re just a great big softy, aren’t you?

LOGAN
Yeah… well, don’t go telling anybody… especially not Beast. With him running the Institute, his ego doesn’t need anymore filling.

Storm giggles again. But the quietness of the shop is suddenly broken, as a YOUNG WOMAN rushes up to the café door.

We recognise her as MARROW, the mutant who escaped Hodge’s holding facility.

She is PANTING HEAVILY. She looks across at the tourists, who are all quite shocked. Then she notices Storm and Logan, and rushes over to them.

STORM
(Confused)
Can we help you?

MARROW
I certainly hope so.

She looks at them intently. They stare back in confusion.

MARROW (CONT’D)
Everybody needs your help.

INT. ABANDONED FLAT – ROOM – SOME TIME LATER

Storm and Logan are sitting on chairs, facing MARROW, who looks out at the window.

The room is quite bare; it only has a single light, drifting from the ceiling, and a few scatterings of worn, old furniture.

Storm and Logan wear confused and baffled expressions.

STORM
.... so how many of you are there?

MARROW
I don’t know. Hundreds… maybe thousands… we don’t see much.

Marrow heaves a sigh, thinking back to those stressful times in the camps…

MARROW (CONT’D)
They make us work all day, then we’re put back in our cells… like animals. They treat us like dirt.

LOGAN
And nobody’s done a thing to stop them?

MARROW
How could they? Nobody knows about it.

LOGAN
Who’s running this joint?

MARROW
Senator Cameron Hodge, and his chief executive, Henry Gyrich. It’s clear Gyrich does all the heavy lifting, but Hodge is the true mastermind behind all this. It was he who started all this. Ever since Hodge has been in the Senate, things have changed. The government are confused; Hodge pays to keep them quiet, and no one is any the wiser.

STORM
What about the other prisoners? Can’t they do something?

MARROW
Without our powers? I don’t think so. These bands-

Marrow shows them the METAL BAND, strapped around her neck.

MARROW (CONT’D)
… strip mutants of their powers.

LOGAN
Hold up, if this Hodge guy is getting mutants to work for him, without using their powers, why not take any normal human being? Why us?

MARROW
Well… no-one would miss a mutant, would they?

This is all too much. Storm thinks hard.

STORM
And the advertisement? The whole paradise thing… was a-?

MARROW
- set up. Yes. Mutants flocked to their shores; right into their trap… they were foolish. I was foolish. To ever think society would accept us.

LOGAN
These bands. Who invented them?

MARROW
A mutant… named Forge.

INT. HODGE’S BASE – INTERROGATION ROOM - DAY

A flashback. We see a soldier, standing menacingly over a desk.

Sitting opposite him, is a DARK-SKINNED MAN, named FORGE. He looks depressed, hurt.

MARROW (V.O.)
They forced him to do their dirty work. You see, Forge has an amazing gift. He can create any technology he thinks of.

LOGAN (V.O.)
Any?

BACK AT THE FLAT

Marrow’s gaze is penetrating.

MARROW
Any.

INT. HODGE’S BASE - FACTORY

FORGE pours over a metal band, a screwdriver in hand, fiddling with the machine.

MARROW (V.O.)
He had no choice. They kidnapped his family. Blackmailed him into doing what they wanted. They had it all figured out…

INT. ABANDONED FLAT – PRESENT

LOGAN
One question: how did you escape?

MARROW
One day, there was a blackout. Security had been tightened over the weeks. A lot of hush-hush… most of them were deployed elsewhere on the estate.

EXT. HODGE’S BASE – COMPLEX

MARROW creeps along the edge of the wall. She peers round the corner, when a SOLDIER scours the surrounding forest.

She creeps behind him, grabs a knife from his belt and plunges it in his back. She pushes him off the balcony, and he drops to the ground below, dead.

She looks over her shoulder. No-one is around. She moves on, and leaps from the balcony, towards the exit-

INT. ABANDONED FLAT – PRESENT

MARROW
I was first out. The other mutants… were too slow to follow. I managed to get away as far as I could.

STORM
To us. How did you know about us?

MARROW
I heard a couple of Hodge’s security talking. About the X-Men. They know you’ve arrived here.

Storm gives Logan a worried look.

MARROW (CONT’D)
Your faces are known across the world to us. I just asked around, found out where you were staying.

LOGAN
You said security had been tightened?

MARROW
(Nodding)
Yeah. When we were working outside, I could see… they were guarding something. A complex. Something they don’t want anybody else to know about.

STORM
You think they’re building something? Like what?

MARROW
A machine of some kind. I don’t know. But whatever it is, it can’t be good for any of us. And they’ve kept Forge locked up tight. Nobody sees him anymore. They’ve got him building something, I know that for sure.

LOGAN
And what do you want us to do about it? Why come to us?

MARROW
(Sarcastically)
You are the mighty X-Men. I figured if anybody could help us, you can.

STORM
I don’t know. We didn’t come here to start a fight.

MARROW
Well, sorry lady, but it’s much more than a fight. These mutants… their lives are at stake. Everyday, more and more mutants fall into Hodge’s traps. How can you just stand by and watch them all suffer? Can you live with that on your conscious?

Storm is unsure. Logan pipes up.

LOGAN
What makes you think we even can help you? Seems like Hodge has got everything figured out.

MARROW
Because I believe in you. I thought you could help us. I thought you cared.
(Pause)
I guess I was wrong.

Storm looks hurt by this. She looks to Logan.

MARROW (CONT’D)
Sorry for wasting your time. I’m sure you’ve got plenty of places to be. I think it’s best if you leave.

They do so, quietly. Marrow heaves a sigh, and stares out at the window.

Thanks for all your encouragement, guys. More will be up a bit later. Not long now. I can't wait to show you what I have in mind about the first X-Men battle with the Genoshian military. :woot:

INT. ABANDONED FLAT – HALLWAY

Storm is still a little reluctant. She starts towards the door, when Logan grabs her by the hand.

STORM
But-

LOGAN
We don’t need to get involved. This ain’t our battle.

STORM
But these mutants are dying! We have to try, Logan.

LOGAN
Says who?

Storm glares at him, intently.

STORM
What the Professor want us to do?

LOGAN
You know what, Storm? The Professor’s not here. He’s dead. And we will be too if we get involved.

STORM
I guess it’s true. Animals really are heartless.

Storm whips round and stomps off, furious. Logan bangs a fist against the wall, disappointed at himself, and follows.

INT. ABANDONED FLAT – ROOM

Marrow leans down on the table, about to pick up a set of keys when-

THE WINDOWS BURST INWARDS. She covers her eyes with her hand, as glass showers down on her.

THREE BLACK-CLAD SOLDIERS SWOOP IN, ARMED TO THE TEETH. Their goggles glow fiercely green.

Marrow strikes one in the chest, then follows with a kick of her right foot. The soldier falls to the ground. She ducks a punch from another, and then pushes him into the wall.

The third soldier punches out; but she is too quick. Marrow grabs his hand in mid-air, twists his wrist (he squeals in pain), then she throws him into another of the soldiers.

But as they collapse onto the floor, the remaining soldier sneaks up behind her, and grabs her by the neck.

She struggles to break free of his grasp when-

EXT. ABANDONED FLAT – STREET

The doors open, and STORM AND LOGAN walk down the steps. The street is quite busy, with cars flashing past and the path dotted with silent pedestrians.

LOGAN
Look, Storm, back there-

STORM
I think you made your thoughts perfectly clear, Logan. I just hope you can live with that.

LOGAN
You think I don’t care?

STORM
What else am I meant to think? You act like nobody else matters except yourself. If we’re supposed to be working for peace between us and mankind, how are we going to do it by turning our backs on those that need us most?

LOGAN
I know… but we gotta think straight. If we go-

Suddenly, we hear a SCREAM. Immediately, we recognise it as MARROW’S. Storm looks at Logan.

Then she darts off back up the stairs and disappears into the flat, Logan right behind her.

INT. ABANDONED FLAT – ROOM – MOMENTS LATER

The door bursts open, and Storm and Logan rush in. they scan the room: nothing. MARROW IS GONE. And no sign of the soldiers either.

STORM
They’ve taken her.

Logan is quiet. She looks back at him.

STORM (CONT’D)
How long, Logan, before this thing is stopped? They’re going to just keep on capturing mutants for as long as they like. And this machine? Who knows what it can do? How long until this Hodge person establishes a camp like this back home? Then what? We just sit around and wait for us to be picked off, one by one. If we don’t do something now, Logan, every mutant in this world could be in danger.

But Logan is still unsure.

STORM (CONT’D)
If not for me, Logan, do it for Jean.

He looks at her. Then concedes. She’s right, after all. They have to do something. He nods.

LOGAN
When do we leave?

EXT. HODGE’S BASE – NIGHT

A reminiscent, eerie picture. Fierce dogs patrol the grounds, as soldiers watch from the look out towers, shining their spotlights on the wet ground below.

INT. HODGE’S BASE – OFFICE

MARROW is standing in front of Senator HODGE. MR GYRICH is standing quietly in the corner, two guards positioned at the door.

HODGE

My dear, how good of you to come home.

Marrow spits at him.

MARROW
I have nothing to say to you… monster.

Hodge smiles, then slaps her with the back of her hand. She falls, and hits her head on the floor. She glares back at him from the ground, her lip bleeding.

MARROW
I hope you rot in hell!

Hodge leans down, so that his face is two feet away from her’s.

HODGE

My dear, I think you’re mistaken. It is you, and your snivelling species, that is going to hell. And I will gladly be there, to watch every single one of you, burn from existence.

He smiles, then straightens up. The guards lift Marrow to her feet.

HODGE (CONT’D)

Who did you contact?

But Marrow is silent.

HODGE
Who?!

But she remains inoperable. He pounces to her side, lifts his hand under her chin.

HODGE
My dear, for your own sake… do not test my patience.

MARROW
I… I didn’t speak to anyone.

HODGE
Oh really? Then why were you seen by a dozen witnesses leaving the café with two tourists? Who were those people? Speak!... or I’ll have your tongue removed.

MARROW

Then you’ll never get a word out of me.

Suddenly, there is a knock on the door and a SECRETARY walks in.

SECRETARY

Sir, we’ve pulled the footage from the CCTV at the café. You better come take a look.

Hodge smiles at Marrow.

HODGE

Excuse me… but I have business to deal with, people to kill… you know how these things work. Mr Gyrich?

Hodge leaves, followed closely by Gyrich. Marrow stares after them, her eyes throbbing with anger.

INT. HODGE’S BASE – OTHER OFFICE

ON TV: MARROW appears at the café doorway. She rushes over to two people in the corner, who looked equally surprised as the others.

HODGE (O.S.)
Stop.

PULL BACK WIDER

Hodge is staring at the television. Gyrich is beside him, and some smartly-dressed workers are there too.

HODGE
Run a trace through our entire database.

One of the workers does as he is told. After a few moments, he lifts up a laptop, displaying full size images of both of those tourists: STORM AND LOGAN.

GYRICH
Sir, could it be?

Hodge’s eyes spark alive. He smiles a grim, sadistic smile.

HODGE

We finally have them. After all this planning… it finally comes down to this. Mr Gyrich, ready your men. I believe we have a fight on our hands.

GYRICH

Yes, sir.

He nods to the workers behind him. They bow, and leave the room. Hodge is still smiling to himself.

GYRICH

How do we proceed?

HODGE

We wait, Mr Gyrich. After all this work, I’m not going to let impatience get in the way now. They’ll be a fitting trophy, don’t you think?

GYRICH

Of course, sir.

HODGE

And with the prototype up and running, I believe it’s about time to have a trial run. Finally, we can end this war.

HODGE (CONT’D)
Finally, we have… the X-Men.

Thanks. :)

Actually the next scenes are about Rogue, and some of the other X-Kids. :p They'll be up some time later today. I just have to write them first.
