Sequels Young X-Men (My Script)

INT. HOTEL – ROOM – NIGHT

Logan is packing a bag, piling in clothes and other essentials into a rucksack. Storm walks into the room, and picks up the phone receiver.

But
Logan grabs her hand before she can dial.

LOGAN

What are you doing?

STORM
Logan, if we’re gonna do this, we need all the help we can get. I’m calling Hank and the others.

LOGAN
No.

STORM
What?

LOGAN
We can’t risk it. If we charge in there, we could endanger thousands of mutants in the process. Is that what you want?

STORM
How do you expect us to take on an army by ourselves? This isn’t like Alcatraz, Logan.

Logan
bows his head at the mention of that regretful event.

STORM (CONT’D)

We’re alone in this,
Logan.

LOGAN
I know. But Hank’s halfway across the world. By the time he got here, Hodge may have already started this war.

STORM
What are you saying?

Logan
takes a deep breath. Then his eyes strain -– he has an idea.

LOGAN
You’re right. We are gonna need help. But not from Hank.

Storm is curious. Logan holds his gaze, calm, collected and calculated.

LOGAN (CONT’D)
We need Forge.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – HALLWAY – NIGHT

ANGEL
Lights out!

Angel sees Kitty walking towards him.

ANGEL (CONT’D)

You too, Kitty.

KITTY
I’m going. I’m going.

She PHASES through her bedroom wall.

Angel continues his march down the hallway, as various children, including ARTIE and JONES, disappear into their dorms.

JONES
Goodnight, Mr Worthington.

ANGEL
Night, Jones.

At the far end of the corridor, Angel encounters Hank.

ANGEL

So, any word from Storm yet?

HANK

Not yet.

ANGEL
Should we be worried?

HANK

Storm’s a smart woman, Warren. And
Logan – he certainly knows how to take care of himself. They’re probably relaxing on a beach as we speak.

Angel smiles.

ANGEL

The children seem to miss them.

HANK
They meant a lot to them. Especially in times like these.

ANGEL

Did you speak to the President?

HANK
I did.

ANGEL

And?

HANK
I’ve arranged a meeting next week. We have a lot of things to talk about. It seems he wants an update on the situation at Genosha.

ANGEL
I’ll see you in the morning.

HANK
Good night.

The two men split up, and disappear in different directions.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – ROGUE’S BEDROOM – SAME TIME

Lying on her bed is ROGUE, a photograph of Bobby in her arms. She stares at the picture, and strokes it.

She sniffels, and puts the photograph face down onto her bedside table. She turns round on her side, and stares out through the window.

Then, she sees FOUR STUDENTS CREEP OUT ACROSS THE GARDENS. She squints, and can make out the four figures: JUBILEE, BERZERKER, SIRYN and SUNSPOT.

ROGUE
(Whispering)
What are they up to..?

I'm afraid that's all I got for now. I've got a little trouble writing the next few scenes. I want it to be exactly right. So it might take some time.

But as soon as I've finished them, I'll post them. :p

^Thanks, as always. I'll try my hardest to have some up by the end of this weekend.

Thank god.
I was hoping for that.
I am finishing my Chapter as we speak/ type here :D
So I will sit down and read the next part of you :D

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – GARAGE – MINUTES LATER

We are in COMPLETE DARKNESS. Then-

Suddenly, the garage door lifts upwards and four figures stand, silhouetted in the moonlight.

SIRYN
Are you sure this is a good idea?

BERZERKER

Don’t tell me you’re whimping out on us now.

JUBILEE
But what about Hank? You heard him. He’ll-

BERZERKER

Never find out. Come on. What’s the worse that could happen?

EXT. ROAD – NIGHT

An X-Van whips past the camera, as it streaks down the road. We hear laughter coming from inside.

INSIDE THE VAN

The kids are having a good time. Berzerker is at the wheel, Jubilee beside him, and Siryn and Sunspot behind them.

SUNSPOT

Hey, Ray, how fast can this thing go?

BERZERKER
Only one way to find out.

He pushes on the accelerator; the van shoots off, hitting 90mph. The kids laugh.

JUBILEE

What does this do?

She presses a red button on the dashboard.

OUTSIDE THE VAN

The back of van turns inside out, to display A ROCKET LAUNCHER. It fires, and the explosion LIGHTS THE NIGHT SKY.

BACK INSIDE

The kids haven’t noticed the explosion.

JUBILEE

Aww, it didn’t even do anything.

BERZERKER
How bout we go off-road, huh?

They smile.

EXT. ROAD – NIGHT

The van turns right, and dives into the woods. It moves through the trees on the bumpy track, vines dangling down like live snakes.

SUNSPOT
(To Jubilee)
Try another button.

She does so. A blue button.

OUTSIDE

Outside, four LARGE SPIKES appear from each wheel, protruding like FIERCE DAGGERS.

As the van moves, the spikes cut through the bush, cutting away at the bark of the trees. Within moments, the TREES STUMBLE AND COLLASPE HEAVILY TO THE GROUND. The sound shakes the entire forest; birds scramble off into the night sky, their sleep suddenly interrupted.

INSIDE IN THE VAN

JUBILEE

This van is useless.

EXT. WOODS – NIGHT

The van turns sharply left, and back-

EXT. ROAD – NIGHT

- onto the road. The van drives on for a bit, not realising that A POLICE VEHICLE IS CREEPING UP BEHIND THEM.

Suddenly, Jubilee notices the car in the front mirror.

JUBILEE
Err… Ray?

BERZERKER
What?

JUBILEE
Maybe you should take a look back.

Ray glances at the mirror, and sees the police car gaining on them.

BERZERKER

Not good.

SIRYN

What are we gonna do?

SUNSPOT
Ray, you have to lose them.

SIRYN
What? No! We are not outrunning a police car. Let’s just turn ourselves in.

SUNSPOT
No way. Hank will kill us!

SIRYN

Ray... We’ve had our fun. Now, please… can we just stop?

SUNSPOT
Don't worry. I know a shortcut. Just keep driving!

Siryn’s eyes widen in anticipation.

SIRYN

Oh boy.

COOL :D
Omg that was great goood job again
I really enjoyed it

That was amazing. I love that they never noticed anything that the buttons did. Very funny.

^Thanks. :) I based that scene around the episode "Joyride" of X-Men Evolution.

Coming soon:

More from the kids and their joyride in the X-Van. And we see that first, major battle: Storm and Logan vs. Hodge and his army. Plus a few surprises along the way... :p

EXT. ROAD – NIGHT

The X-van speeds off, the police car hot on their trail.

INT. POLICE CAR – NIGHT

POLICEMAN (INTO WALKIE-TALKIE)

This is Unit 125, requesting backup.

INT. VAN – NIGHT

JUBILEE
Ray, he’s getting closer.

BERZERKER
I know! I know…

The cars speed on for a little bit, when suddenly a second POLICE CAR ROUNDS THE CORNER; driving directly for THE X-VAN.

BERZERKER
Oh, NO!

SUNSPOT
I know a shortcut. Head right on Olmond Street. It will take us directly behind the Institute.

SIRYN

You sure?

SUNSPOT
You got any other ideas? We can’t pull out now.

BERZERKER
Ok… everyone, hold on.

He turns sharply right, and dashes down a narrow lane. The police car’s SIRENS SCREECH BEHIND THEM, as they close in.

EXT. VILLAGE – NIGHT

Windows light up, as residents are startled awake by the screech of the van. Some pedestrians look out through the window, as the van dashes past.

INT. VAN – NIGHT

SIRYN
Hank is gonna kill us!

BERZERKER
Think positive!

JUBILEE

He’s gonna kill us quickly.

BERZERKER

We can get through this. Alright? We’re X-Men. So let’s think like X-Men.

They nod.

SUNSPOT

Right. So… what exactly do X-Men do?

They all look at him, curiously.

SUNSPOT (CONT’D)

(Shrugging)
Hey, I’m not in the loop.

SIRYN

Ray! Look out!

Ray looks back at the road, just in time to see ROAD WORKS COMING UP FAST! He swerves hard to avoid the exposed manhole, but accidentally plummets into a field!

SIRYN

Great! Just great!

BERZERKER
Are they still on our tail?

SUNSPOT

Would it make you feel better if I said no?

BERZERKER
Yes.

SUNSPOT
Right… they’ll still on our tail.

BERZERKER

Oh no. No, no, no no…

The two police cars dive into the field after them, crashing through the hedge and rolling across the grassy plain.

INT. POLICE CAR – NIGHT

POLICEMAN
They’re heading into the woods.

INT. SECOND POLICE CAR – NIGHT

POLICEMAN
We’ve got units positioned on the other side. There’s no where for them to go.

And some more :):

INT. VAN – NIGHT

JUBILEE
I thought you knew a shortcut, Roberto.

SUNSPOT
See, about that… perhaps we were meant to take a left back there.

JUBILEE

What?!

SUNSPOT
It’s been a long time. Don’t blame me! I didn’t know we were gonna get chased by the police, did I?

JUBILEE

Well it’s got to be someone’s fault.

SUNSPOT

Don’t look at me, I’m not the one driving.

BERZERKER
You think it’s my fault? This wasn’t even my idea in the first place.

SIRYN

Guys...

JUBILEE
It wasn’t mine, either. You said it would be fun.

SUNSPOT
Oh, I’m sorry… I didn’t realise we were having fun… with all this EXCITEMENT!

SIRYN
Guys, please...

BERZERKER
(Sarcastic)
You want me to crash? Then keep up the noise, it’s really helping.

SUNSPOT
You’re the one who is gonna get blamed for this. You’re at the wheel.

BERZERKER
Oh really? Do you want to drive then? I didn’t hear any volunteers when we left the Institute.

SUNSPOT

Well if I was driving, we wouldn’t be caught stuck in the middle of the woods, would we?!

JUBILEE
Oh, please. You were just too scared to drive.

SUNSPOT

Well I’m not the one-

SIRYN

Guys! Please!

EVERYONE ELSE
What?

SIRYN
Look. They’ve stopped following us.

Suddenly, everybody looks out the window. It’s true; the police cars have hung back.

BERZERKER

Would you look at that? So… admit it. Aren’t I a good driver?

JBUILEE
I don’t get it. Why did they just stop?

SUNSPOT
Perhaps they know we’re mutants?

Jubilee gives him a sharp look.

JUBILEE

I’ll ask again: why did they just stop?

BERZERKER
Maybe because they didn't.

SUNSPOT
What?

Again, everyone looks outside the windows to see: A GROUP OF POLICEMAN, THEIR GUNS RAISED, CREEPING TOWARDS THEM.

Off in the distance, through the branches of the trees, we can see their empty police vehicles.

POLICEMAN
Alright, kids! Step out of the vehicle and put your hands on your head! Slowly!

Berzerker sighs to the others.

BERZERKER
I guess we better face Hank.

SUNSPOT
Here goes.

They step outside the car, and place their hands on top of their heads. The policemen move in, handcuffs at the ready.

Last update for today :):

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – HALLWAY – A SHORT WHILE LATER

CLOSE UP ON: THE MAIN DOOR. THE DOORBELL RINGS.

A blue, furry hand reaches out on the brass handles, and swings open to reveal: THE KIDS STANDING OUTSIDE, A POLICEMAN BESIDE THEM.

CLOSE UP ON: HANK’S FACE. It turns from bewildered to angry.

POLICEMAN
Evening, sir. These are students of yours, I believe?

HANK

Unfortunately, yes.

POLICEMAN
We found them hijacking a black van, driving at ridiculous speeds and the driver –- he glares at Berzerker -– didn’t even have a full license.

HANK
Thank you for returning them safely, officer. I most appreciate it. And don’t worry. I’ll make sure they're treated appropriately.

Hank steps aside, as the kids walk solemnly inside. Hank nods respectively to the officer, who tips his hat.

HANK
Good night, officer.

POLCIEMAN

Good night, sir.

Hank closes the door, then turns to the students, his eyes ablaze with fury.

HANK

What were you thinking?

The kids are silent. They look down at the floor.

HANK (CONT’D)

You are very fortunate; what would have happened if one of you was to get hurt? Then what? You are very lucky the police picked you up.

BERZERKER

We’re sorry, Mr. McCoy.

HANK
Sorry? And you think that solves it, do you Ray?

He shakes his head.

HANK
I’m very disappointed in you, students. You are meant to set an example to the younger pupils, and yet you pull a stunt like this—I don’t know what to do with you.

JUBILEE
We really are sorry, Mr McCoy.

SUNSPOT
We never meant for it to go this far.

Hank heaves a sigh.

HANK (CONT’D)
I want you to go to your dorm rooms, and get some sleep. I’ll see you in the morning.

The students turn and creep up the stairs, separating and disappearing into their different bedrooms.

Warren
walks down the stairs, and stops beside Hank.

WARREN

More trouble, eh?

HANK

That would be an understatement.

WARREN
T
hey’re just being kids, Hank. You know what its like-

HANK

But they don’t. They have no idea of the world waiting for them outside these walls. When I was studying at this school, I thought I was ready. Professor Xavier had taught me so much; I knew I was ready to face whatever may be. But I wasn’t. Nothing could prepare me for the world outside, for the fear, the anger, the hostility I received. People don’t understand,
Warren. It’s our job to educate them. But if these kids don’t understand that, how can they ever fit into normal society?

With that, Hank banks left and disappears down a long corridor.
Warren stares after him.

Then he turns and walks back up the stairs towards his own room.

Thanks. I'll update it sometime tommorrow. :)

After the battle at Hodge's base, there'll be some more from Rogue and the others. And the consequences of the X-Kids joyride the previous night. And much much more. :p

I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to update. I'm going through a few re-writes, the fight scene is quite tricky. I want to get everything right, to get the pace moving.

Once I think it's flowing right, I'll post it. :)
