the latter. I have no problem with people who order actual coffee from Starbucks. People just rarely do.

Oh. I got the impression you were talking about coffee when you said Starbucks doesn't sell coffee.

We don't have Starbucks here, so what would people do in a coffee shop if they don't order coffee?

I hate coffee
I don't necessarily hate it, but I certainly don't drink it. I do hate it when people look at me weird when I say I don't drink coffee, or any kind of caffeine in the mornings. I just stick to water, and I'm good to go.

I can't go a single morning without coffee. I'm not even sure it really helps me that much. I think it's more a psychological placebo effect; I can't really work until I've had coffee.

I get the weird look too. I just give it right back.

I'm not the one addicted to a drug. :p

I treat coffee like a drug, in that I'll only drink it if I have to. I travel for my job, so sometimes if I have to be in a city the next day, and I have to stay up driving, then I'll drink it to stay awake and not die driving. And even then, it's rare that I have to drink.

I probably have about 4-6 cups a year: that's it.

I seriously hate all people who misuse the word "lay" when it's supposed to be "lie"; it's become epidemic in everyday speech and oohh I just have to grit my teeth:cmad:!

Africa is a continent, world. Start referring to places in Africa by their names!! If something happens in Portugal, people say Portugal, not "Europe". If something happens in Cambodia, people say Cambodia, not "Asia" why is Africa not afforded that same basic courtesy?

To be fair, I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that the countries in Africa have been very influx over its history.

For instance, Portugal was founded in 868.

Conversely, the country that is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo didn't have that name until 1997, Zimbabwe was known as Southern Rhodesia until 1980, and several other countries go by multiple names depending on the language and colloquialism. And that's not even mentioning the various territorial and governmental changes that have occurred throughout the previous few centuries.

In short, Africa has been a land of pretty consistent change and upheaval the past 500 years or so, and people's unfamiliarity with its various countries is bred from that. Whereas England, Spain, etc. have been in business for literally thousands of years now.

QFT...

There's a West Sudan now which didn't exist until last year... So much of that continent is just in a constant state of flux as you said and the sole remaining characteristic can quite often be the turmoil which those ever changing areas seem to remain in.

Other parts of the world which see recent change receive similar treatment... such as former yugoslav nations, the nations formed by the split of the USSR which aren't named Russia... parts of Asia (Cambodia/Kampuchea, closer to when the changes happened people WERE saying that).

There's always a transition period when people use more general terms just to avoid miscommunication.

It's the same with Eastern Europe. Some of those countries have changed names at least twice in the last 100 years between the falls of the empires they were part of, merging with the Soviet Union, and independence since the USSR's fall.

It's South Sudan dude.

I hate that my brother is a big fan of Tucker Max. My brother is a really good, sweet guy so I just don't understand it.

My boyfriend has gotten me to start ordering Tall Green Tea (no sugar) from Starbucks. It's actually really refreshing, and good for the metabolism.

I can understand constantly buying coffee from Starbucks if buying and learning to use a coffee maker seems like too much trouble, but regularly buying tea? That stuff is like a dollar for a giant box full of bags, and all you need to do is boil water.

even coffee makers are super easy to use. The only time I ever go to Starbucks is for social reasons.

We don't go out of our way to get it. It's right across from the theater we work at.. haha. He has his own badass tea pot, but

This. It's just something to do. And unlike the coffee selections - it's actually pretty cheap. :)

I hate that I forgot my phone at home because I was in a bit of hurry going to work today.

I also HATE people who I've known at work for the past 6 years who are 2 faced effin individuals. They're pleasant in front of you, but are all the contrary when they're not. :down

I'm just glad to know that I'm not the only one that doesnt drink coffee.

By the time I add enough sugar and cream to make it drinkable, it might as well be candy. I did drink mochas for a while but it got to be too expensive and fattening.
