Your top 10 Albums of all time.

I'm not nitpicking here, seriously, but I am curious as to what you heard in Bark at the Moon that was better than Blizzard of Ozz or Black Rain.

My criteria was based on how much of the album I liked, which was most of Bark at the Moon, as opposed to 3 songs from Blizzard of Ozz (Crazy Train, Mr. Crowley and Goodbye to Romance). I haven't picked up Black Rain yet, so I can't comment there.

A couple of these albums switch up every few months, but this is more or less my top ten of all time:

1.) Smashing Pumpkins- Siamese Dream
2.) Spiritualized- Pure Phase
3.) The Cure- Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me
4.) Beach Boys- Pet Sounds
5.) Radiohead- Kid A
6.) Spacemen 3- Perfect Prescription
7.) The Smiths- Queen is Dead
8.) Velvet Underground and Nico
9.) David Bowie- Ziggy Stardust
10.) The Stooges- Raw Power

its really amazing that OK computer has been on a majority of lists here. Just goes to show how awesome Radiohead is.

I was actually heavily debating whether I should put OKC or Kid A on my list because I like them both equally but didn't want two albums from the same band on it. In the end I decided on Kid A because I listen to it more frequently then OKC now, but really either are interchangeable on my list.

OKC never gets old.... EVER!

Oooh, I just discovered this thread. My list is quite ever-changing, but the top 5 or 6 are pretty constant:

Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

Radiohead - OK Computer

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

The Pixies - Doolittle

The Beatles - Revolver

Radiohead - In Rainbows

The Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape

The Pixies - Surfer Rosa

Neutral Milk Hotel - The Aeroplane Over the Sea

And a few recent favorites that I wouldn't put on an "all-time best" list yet, but that I certainly think are some of the best in recent memory and deserve an honorable mention:

Wilco - A Ghost is Born
Wilco - Sky Blue Sky
M. Ward - Post War
M. Ward - Hold Time
Spoon - Gimme Fiction
Arcade Fire - Funeral

And on the Radiohead discussion, I'm a guitar girl, so while I can certainly appreciate the genius and sounds of Kid A and Amnesiac, I don't enjoy listening to them as much as the others. That said, like every other Radiohead album, both of them each contains at least one of my favorite Radiohead songs ever, so I certainly can't "dislike" them - far from it. In fact, this "Optimistic" vid may be my favorite thing on YouTube:

Well, that or maybe this:

Ooohhh M. Ward AND Arcade Fire? Will you marry me?

M. Ward post war is fantastic i have it on Vinyl and it is sweet sweet music.

I never really have liked spoon though. Wilco is fantastic live.

I'd love to Hazmat, but I already have an internet husband who I haven't talked to in a couple years so you might have to track him down and beat him up first. ;)

First of all, so jealous. Wilco and Radiohead are the 2 acts I MUST see live before I die. I'm addicted to their live YouTube videos. And Post-War may be the most perfect-for-vinyl modern album in existence. As for Spoon, yeah, they seem to be pretty love 'em-or-leave 'em. My best friend would call them an "acquired taste" though, b/c she hated them last year, but just recently she asked me to make her a "Best of Spoon" mix, lol.

Have you M. Ward fans listened to Hold Time yet? You can hear it for free (legally) at NPR. I haven't decided if I like it better than Post-War yet, and it sounds to me like his She & Him partner Zooey Deschanel may have influenced his sound a little bit, even though there are definitely some old-school M. Ward tunes on there as well. But whether or not it's better than Post-War (which was probably a bit more cohesive as a whole), it's still a great album in its own right.

Bound to change considering the artists I love are pretty new and hopefully they'll get better as they go (plus I can be quite fickle):

1) HIStory Continues - Michael Jackson
2) Dangerous - Michael Jackson
3) Bad - Michael Jackson
4) Torches - Foster the People
5) Megalithic Symphony - AWOLNATION
6) Light Love Peace - Bamboo
7) Destiny - The Jacksons
8) Ceremonials - Florence + The Machine
9) Nighttiming - Coconut Records
10) Nutcracker Suite - Peter Tchaikovsky

Not really hard to figure out who my #1 musical love is ;) I'd add two more of his albums (Thriller and OTW), but I wanted a little more balance between artists.
