Post here.
i think the worst graphic novel ever written is Batman: Fortunate Son

Hush Returns
Blind Justice (Can't stand the artwork)
Batman confidential first story arc.

I was going to name some, but there are way too many unsensational Batman stories from 50s through to 70s (whose names I've forgotten now, conveniently) that more than qualify.

- All of No Man's Land
- Contagion
- That whole Bruce Wayne, Murderer? business

The only one I can think of right now is The Long Halloween. I thought the mystery was garbage. Awful storytelling.

You are right. I wouldn't call it one of the worst "graphic novels" but it's definitely far away from the top list.

Y'know what the problem is? Most people don't have a clue what good work is.

it does kind of ramble and then the mystery doesn't seem to matter by the end. its a wierd one.

City of Crime
Hush Returns
Under the Hood

War Crimes and War Games too. DC was in a mess the last couple of years. I mean, it still is now, but at least Detective and All-Star are good.

Batman: Secrets
Hush Returns
The Dark Knight Strikes Again

Hush & Hush Returns
The Dark Knight Returns & The Dark Knight Strikes Again

the first time i read the killing joke i didn't like it, just because of the ending
but then afterwards i read it again and loved it

Hush Returns
City Of Crime
The Scottish Connection

Hush Returns - Horrible story. Hated the way they tied Riddler into Joker's origin. Joker having a heart to heart with the Penguin. Bleh!
City Of Crime - Quite possibly the worst Batman story ever. Does anyone even know what it was about? Did the story have a point?
Leslie Thompkins the murderer - This needs no explanation

THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN

WORST batman story ever, i can't even say its a story about batman

shoul've been called Superman: I Had Sex With Wonder Woman

I was at Chapters today and almost bought City of Crime as a blind buy. Very glad I decided against it.

Lets see, so much crap - where to start?:

Batman & Son Damian. Barf. :csad:
The Black Glove Guest-starring Bat-Mite and a green wacky creature from "Space B at the Fivefold Expansion of Zrfff". Urgh. That's about as unappealing as things come.:whatever:
The absurd Cataclysm earthquake Aftershock No Man's Land and the Bruce Wayne, Murderer Fugitive fiasco. :cmad:

cmon all of no mans land, that was a great story.

Yes, thank you. Greg Rucka produced some hardcore **** in there. It established Two-Face's infatuation with Montoya, classic moment with Joker shooting Essen and countless other little stories by other writers and artists. To me, NML was a DC event done right.

Not a fan of character work, I see.

That Neal Adams story where Batman sings the whole christmas night with cops.

Hell yes it was. I loved how all of the characters HAD to survive and did what it took to do that. Not to mention their mental downspiral some of them took. Then they blew out the ending with the Essen/Joker moment. LOVED IT!

NML was for the most part, well written. You're obviously going to have ups and downs (especially with dozens of different writers and artists), but the good far outweighs the negatives (which were there, but few).

I felt that "the little moments" gave NML so much character. The entire event as a whole was well-executed but the one shots and 2 issue stories, as well as the small moments between characters really made the story. Azrael giving Cassandra the Christmas ornament, Vincent playing the violin for a group of thugs in NML Secret Files, Dent falling in love with Montoya, etc.

Everyone has the right to their own opinion, but I just find it hard to believe how NML can be one of the worst Batman TPBs of all time.
