I just can't get into it so far.
The trailers are a lot of "people looking vaguely troubled". There's not been much of substance so far.
And their "look, everyone! A robot that has no one controlling it" marketing campaign seems a little tired and generic to me. The only thing that really intrigues me so far is the idea of the team facing serious public backlash/conflict.
What substance do you want, I think the trailers have played it well, they basically show there is a lot of conflict without actually showing the action.
I agree with this. I am not a comic book reader, but more of the casual film fan, and I am trying to scratch my head around why is this mere robot such a threat? And it doesn't help that I came back from the theaters where they showed two trailers dealing with robots that can think for themselves
Wait a minute you're not a comic book reader, weren't you saying Cap should get more light because he is an 'A' character, I presumed you were going off the comics and the concept of the big 3. What were you going off?
Also the thing with the robots is, I'm guessing are you talking about Chappie and Ex Machina? Those two are more similar in concept to each other than AoU and as we get more and more robots in real life and closer to AI we will probably get more and more films involving them, they are a classic sci-fi trope which is getting closer to science fact.
I get what you mean that the GA they might say why is this Ultron a threat, but then isn't that the intriguing part, do people really need to be spoon fed in the trailer do they need a line like 'oh my god this ultron is really tough and is encased in vibranium which is unbreakable'
Or can people realise he is a threat by all the destruction and fear in the eyes of the Avengers.
