Justice League Zack Snyder Directing Justice League - Part 6

I feel a bit sorry for Snyder, I've seen some serious abuse levelled at him recently on social media. One guy even wished him dead. People need to seriously take a look at themselves, films are there for our entertainment only and wishing death on someone just because their live action version of a comic property doesn't fit with your expectations is truly twisted. Joel Schumacher butchered Batman but I don't recall the same level of animosity towards him.

It's funny, this kind of stuff, the way the media and social media works, public opinions, how they can sway so wildly from one direction to another, it absolutely mirrors aspects of BvS.

Schumacher did admit to his mistake and went on this whole long apology tour when all the dust settled and cleared.

Not saying Snyder made any mistakes! because he does what he does best, unfortunately the rest of the material did not line up with the majority of audience at the time.

Shame Snyder will become (or has become) the defacto scapegoat in all this.

A scapegoat is a reference to one whose done nothing wrong, in the case of BVS etc Snyder is in the wrong same as Schumacher was with Batman and Robin. Regarding Justice League it's actually higher rated than BvS was, so I would say the blame for the aspects that weren't liked still lies on him.
Sure on another level the DC execs are all to blame as well of course

At the end of the day the guy was trying something different with these characters, and in this day and age when we're getting 10 comic book movies a year, its nice to have something that goes against the grain and tries something out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, his approach wasn't for mass audiences, plain and simple. A good sect of us fans liked his approach and found it refreshing but it wasnt mainstream and I guess ultimately thats the biggest fault in all of this. Snyder's the guy you get to do your one off Elseworlds story and he'll film the **** out of it but you don't get him to do your mainline.

But, hey, you know what, I love Elseworlds graphic novels, and frankly I often times prefer them to the main monthly comics but thats just me and not how most people prefer their superhero stories.

my sentiments exactly.

i love MoS.
i feel the BvS:UE is a legit good movie.
it's the theatrical cut that i think is crap.

but i also get why many people don't like snyder's films.
he is really has a niche style. it's not really meant for mass audience consumption.

that's not the audience's fault. snyder just wasn't the right fit for directing a mainstream cbm universe.

i liked his take though. i like many movies my friends think are crap though. haha

Batfleck was going to be wearing his bat-goggles for the final fight before it was all reshot.

Damn I am dying to see this shot on film. What scene was this??!?

Likely the scene where the boomtube sucks Steppenwolf away and we get a glimpse of Darkseid on the other side, staring down the league.

I honestly feel like they knew months ago it was gonna be a failure, but they gave up and decided to move ahead, cut the runtime for maximum profits, and take the money and run.

Months ago? They've known since March 2016 that a Snyder JL was going to be a failure.

Why does Zack have to keep reminding us, this pain :csad:

but pls also keep doing this

I want to see this original scene of Ma Kent with Lois. :(

Oh my God I need that freaking scene with Lois and Martha...

Compare the cinematography of that with this :

or compared to a shot from Zack's cut :

I honestly don't even care about the cinematography. It's the content I care about. To squash that amazing potential for drama, pathos and character exploration that Zack set up with a "I didn't need the house anyway lol" is a crime.

I still can't fathom that Clark told his mum that Lois is thirsty. Like how degrading is that?

He told her she's the hungriest not the thirstiest. Did you not pay attention to the intricacies of Whedon's amazing joke?

I need for Zack to stop with this. It's just to depressing and makes me sad. :(

My thoughts also, loved both MOS and BvS:UE.

No love for the theatrical JL we got, unfortunately.

I rescored the Superman resurrection scene. Its not perfect, and I didnt get to color grade it, but here it is. I didnt use the most commonly used themes, so do check it out and tell me if you guys liked it. BvS soundtrack is just bliss :ilv:

I don't blame Snyder ( you know what you are getting with him )
I don't blame whedon either ( see above )
My blame is 100% all on WB.

Nice touch re-inserting Snyder's Batman instead of Whedon's at the beginning

Nice man! Are you gonna keep working on it?? I'd like to see it when it's more polished :cwink:

Also, I just LOVE Barry's demeanor in this one, THAT's how he should've been through the movie, still timid and nervous, but also heroic and "strong" (for lack of a better word); in the reshoots his heroics came to me as him doing what he's told to do, but not really taking initiative; at least in the parts shot by Snyder (that we know of) he's actually one to put himself in the line of fire despite his fear or hesitation...his "heroic nature" I guess it's what I mean. :ilv:
