Zelda

I don't have a single legitimate complaint about TP. I died a few times, not too many and not too few. I never minded the howling stones, in fact, I actually enjoyed how most were the same from OoT. I thought the ending was near perfect for the game.

I agree with Spidey-Bat. I absolutely love the game, and alot of the new stuff was put in brilliantly. Brings me back to the old LoZ days.

I just completed the Desert Temple, and so far I think all of the dungeons have been great lengths. It's taken me a min. of about 1 hour completing each dungeon so far, which I think is a good length. Only problem I have is overlooking pieces of heart earlier in the game. I think the bosses are easy enough that you don't throw your controller down in frustration, but hard enough so that you don't lose interest. Similar to OoT.

Also, does anyone know what to do with those Owl looking statues? They seem to always be next to the pieces of heart I want to get. There's one to the south of Castle Town, one in Kakariko Gorge, and one in Faron Woods.. I can't figure out what to do to get the heart pieces.. can someone help me out here?

You need the Dominion Rod (you get it in the Temple of Time). But you have to go on a sidequest because it loses its power when it comes to the present.

Ah, thanks. I was wondering why the hell I couldn't get anything to happen no matter what I did to it.

The only temple I found incredibly easy was the Temple of Time. The rest had a good level of difficulty. The Water Temple is never a fun ride but it was nothing like the one in Ocarina. I really liked that boss as well.

Really? You didn't do Hyrule Castle in like 5 seconds flat like I did? Or the Twylight Palace.

Why is the Sky City the worst temple ever? Was it too hard? Annoying? What? I personally enjoyed it and thought the boss was very good.

It lacked villains to fight and every room just consisted of using the clawshot, though the ending boss was awesome.

What do you mean "move on more"? BTW, there were new items. The Dominion Rod, Gale Boomerang (it actually didnt work like the usual boomerang), Clawshot (similar to the Hookshot but did 100 more things and far more useful in combat. Plus you got two), Water Bombs, Spinner, Ball & Chain. Plus you could combine the Hawkeye and Bombs with the Arrows. And the Lantern was completely new to 3D Zelda games. So yeah, there were new items.

The dominion rod was just the statue moving from Wind Waker, Gale boomerang I could give you clawshot wasn't anything amazingly new, water bombs were cool, spinner had little use but was a good idea, should have moved at a faster rate without the track though, Ball and chain were awesome, but again very little use, latern again was just deku sticks on the go really. Bomb arrows were cool though.

The Wolf was part of the story. The hunting down bugs was a way for you to explore the new area.

That doesn't make it fun and exciting though does it? It was part of a story I already said was too complicated to rival Orcarina's imo.

I didn't mind it since you only had to do it 6 times. What was wrong with the sound?

It sounded god awful, I almost had to shield my ears.

The ending also included the battle with Ganondorf. Plus there was more after the credits. The ending of Zelda games have never been like 10 min long.

Bit after the credits was nothing brilliant either. I'm talking about the ending movie anyway, WW and OoT felt like there was a lesson to be learned in there, this was just simply a happy ending.

That is because Wind Waker was a massive ocean. It's easier to have a huge world like that in a game than it is to have a world the size of Hyrule field with all the detail.

That's true and I considered that, but there were generally more places to go and more things to do in WW, still not the better of the two, but definately the larger in terms of side quests etc.

I thought the bosses were a fine difficulty.

Some could have been if it didn't take about 3 ties to bash em with your sword to finish them off.

This complaint is that he wasn't the character you wanted him to be.

Yeah that's true, I'll let that one go I guess.

I guess my dissapointment seaps from this game not being anywhere near OoT and the fact that alot of WW was better than this. But hey, it was good and all.

Yes but the purpose of the temple is to get to Ganon. He takes nearly an hour to beat.

I thought it had a good amount of enemies. The rooms were puzzles and I liked that.

The thing in Wind Waker was a song and you could only use it on Medli and Makar. The Lantern was more than just ignited Deck Sticks. Whether or not you used them a lot, there were still new

I enjoyed it and the story was easy enough to follow.

How did it sound awful?

I thought it was moving
It is Midna saying good bye forever.
. I didn't think WW or OoT had a moral and neither did this.

That's true and I considered that, but there were generally more places to go and more things to do in WW, still not the better of the two, but definately the larger in terms of side quests etc.

The only places to go were the 4 or 5 main islands and only Windfall had a lot to do. There were other islands you could explore but there really isn't much to them. I would have liked more sidequests in this as well. Especially a trading sequence for the Biggoron Sword or Mirror Shield.

Considering how much WW has been brought-up recently, what do you guys think of Phantom Hourglass? I want to hear more about the controls (which are supposed to be all touchscreen) before I declare it a "must-have". I am interested in the storyline, however.

Well in one week I've played 25 hours and I cannot put it down yet. I am what I hypothesize as a little over 1/3 through it (just got to the Gueredo desert). And besides collecting heart containers (have collected 11 now) and the fun addictive fishing minigame, I have not done much in sidequesting.

What are some really good sidequests and minigames (besides the obvious fishing) that I haven't found? The only ones I've seen is the goron who wants spring water but when I give it to him, it just spills on the ground; I've also given two golden bugs to the bratty girl but that one (albeit I know I'll probably get a bigger wallet) doesn't interest me.

Thanks.

Hahaha. He will buy my preorder for the Wii when it comes and will keep it for himself. He sold me his because he already had finished Twilight Princess anyway.

Lovely game. Certainly my pick for Game Of The Year 2006.

I still demand you kick his ass. :cmad:

so the cave of ordeals is alot of fun.. but damn near impossible... i can get all the way to the 3 darknuts/ironknuckles whatever they are. and just get dominated because of lack of hearts/fairies/rupees for armor. any pointers? what happens if u finish it?

really hope someone is here, I'm on the Forest Temple and I ran out of lantern fuel to get the last monkey. I used the ******ed chicken thing to get me out of the temple an went to the shop with the bird.. But I don't know how to get into the shop because it attacks me. I can't go back to the guy because of the purple swamp fog.. I'm stumped.

NM, I just jacked the fuel. I felt kind of bad doing that, but the bird was a bastard anyhow.

Just completed the fifth dungeon. This game breaks Ocarina's spine over it's knee.

Ouch.

Okay, I'm in the fifth dungeon, the Snowpeak Temple thing (ruins) and it has been great...but for the last half hour or more I've been stuck on that damn puzzle. You know the one where there are three bvoxes in an oddly peculiar room and flat where you have to push them over ice and onto the middle switch. DOES ANYONE HAVE A LOGICAL ORDER because I usually hate getting help but I am ****ing sick of these blocks and this ****ing ice.

Any help I would be very thankful for.

Sounds like you already did earlier anyway. The bird only attacks when you don't pay. The box where you pay is to the left of the cauldrens, under the bird. Just in case you do want to pay :oldrazz:

I did wanna pay but everytime I went near his pen he attacked me. I felt bad though. "I'M LINK THE HERO OF TIME, BUT I STILL LIKE TO STEAL SNICKER'S BARS FROM 7-11." :o

You're not the Hero of Time, this is probably the Hero of Light or something :o

Who actually pays? The first time I accidently didn't pay and I was like "**** that bird" and steal from it all the time and wish I could cut its freaking head off.

Anyway, I guess thanks...for not helping....heh. I figured out the puzzle and it was rather obvious but at 2 am, not so much. Well I'm off to the Temple of Time soon.

P.S. The Yeti's wife is a beat (no pun intended, well mostly not) at racing in snowboarding. Anyone beat her yet?

I think you mean beast.

Anyway, I beat her. It took a lot of tries. You gotta use the short cut. Also, slice her with your sword. You don't get penalized for it.
