She's a very solid choice. A fairly versatile actress, tends to be understated, but isn't bad by any stretch. Not at all surprised she's the one, aside from the LEGO thing, which is kind of cool, actually.

Reeves seems to be aiming at making a really good film, but not a living comic book.

Let's talk about the fact that she's 31 or so, but could convincingly play the role older if she needed to.

It was reported Matt Reeves was looking for someone resembling Zoe Kravitz while looking to cast somebody as schedule wise she was doing other projects so something must have worked out then.

Alot more actresse's than below looked into for the role but I remember reading that Matt Reeves wrote the role with Zoe Kravitz in mind... She must've been able to clear her schedule somehow after seeing how rigorously Matt Reeve's was looking for someone.

Considering the character's race is apparently not pinned down to the point where she can argued to be mixed race by some as far as I think has been said by some, and some versions of the character as adapted has been non white, I don't see this being too much of a shift. Not my preference, but not a huge shift to me.

I always thought the Dark Knight Rises was a bit heavy handed and stodgy with the narrative. Cops in sewers amidst the Tale of 2 Cities inspiration and lack of story logic to move the plot along.
