1-2 Spurs - deflected effort from Kudus goes in to restore their lead in the heavy rain.

3 minutes stoppage time added, 3 or 4 minute VAR check for a penalty decision in that stoppage time that should have been cleared inside 30 seconds without the referee having to go to the screen, the whistle then goes for half time almost immediately after the subsequent corner that's awarded rather than the penalty.

Yet in other games we see them play 6, 7 or 8 minutes in their full.. but today is different obviously because it's Manchester United.

Nevermind the fact a corner, that they nearly scored from shouldn't have even been given, a yellow card & a free kick in our favour should have been awarded for feigning injury & diving.

Solid 2-0 win for United in the end at home against Sunderland, not spectacular but a much needed win for Amorim with Liverpool up next.

Chelsea got a big 2-1 at home against Liverpool to make things interesting at the top, Arsenal now with a small lead. Liverpool on a bit of a dodgy run at the moment.

Couldn't see the game yesterday but saw Lammens started and got his first clean sheet! How was he? how was the team?

Oh my god, the whining, even when you win.

It was only half time when I wrote that so the game wasn't over.

Wrong decisions are wrong decisions whether you're winning or losing. Don't want to listen to people complaining? Just get the decisions correct.

Looked very confident & composed. Only had to make I think 2 saves & a few high claims, but overall did well.

The little I saw from him he looks like a proper goalkeeper. I don't know how to justify that but there's an "aura" that I didn't feel with Onana (who felt way too relaxed/comical) or Bayindir who just looks timid.

Sure, but making it sound like Man Utd have a target on their back from the refs is absolutely ridiculous.

2-2 against Paraguay in our latest senior international match

Upcoming international friendly match against the mighty Brazil this afternoon.

Lets go, Samurai Blue!

Down 0-2 at first half...we turn it back at the second half to score 3 goals (from Minamino Takumi, Nakamura Keito, and Ueda Ayase) to win 3-2 against Brazil!!!!

It is the first time in our history that we are able to defeat Brazil!!

City go top with a 2-0 win at home for the moment before the others play.

Another solid win for Sunderland and crazy game as Palace draw 3-3 with Bournemouth.

Ange getting the sack is no surprise, what a disaster of an appointment that was, should never have got rid of Nuno, baffling decision in the first place.

Arsenal beat Fulham to take back top spot. 1-0 but got the job done.

A draw probably would have been a fair result given the chances both teams missed, but I'll absolutely take it getting a long overdue away result in Liverpool.

Fernandes looked like he was either tired or carrying an injury, I'm surprised he wasn't taken off sooner.. but I'm glad he wasn't because that first time cross/looped pass onto Maguire's head was absolutely world class.

Maguire as well, I was dreading seeing him & de Ligt in the back 3 given the mobility of Liverpool's forwards, but he, de Ligt & Shaw all did well. Lammens also, no funny business, no drama, just a normal goalkeeper, hopefully he can continue the solid start he's made because after suffering with Onana & Bayinder's errors & mistakes over the past few seasons, it's honestly fantastic to have even a sliver of confidence in your goalkeeper.

Fantastic win, hopefully can use it to generate some further positive results.

Maguire has become a bit of a cult hero to me and I've really gone through all the emotions with him. Was really excited when we signed him and initially I did think he was great for us. Then he had some rough years and his lack of pace really made him look slow, clumsy and a liability at the back. And at that point I just wanted him shipped off to West Ham or whatever else bottom half team that would take him.

But he's kinda won me back over again with his spirit and mentality. We've seen a bunch of players like Rashford, Sancho, Antony (and others) basically just throw in the towel when the atmosphere got bad and they all went "Yeah i'm not gonna put in the effort, I'll go somewhere else". Maguire on the other hand has suffered more abuse than any of them (the Slabhead/fridge memes) but he has kept fighting and kept doing his best and seeing him score the winning goal today just feels better than if someone else did it. Like he's obviously not on the level of some of our best defenders we've had, but I can't fault his mentality or personality through all of this. He feels a bit oldschool when some players made up for lack of ability with determination and fighting spirit.

It's strange because a few years ago I wanted him out and now I wouldn't mind if we extended his contract. Not saying he should be a starter in every game but he definitely has a squad role to fill.

Massive win yesterday for us, couldnt watch it but seemed liked we had a gameplan, stuck to it and in the end with a bit of luck we made it through. At least we seem to playing more as a team at least even if we arent world beaters yet the players dont seem to be giving up on Amorim and beating Liverpool away is not easy for any United side so thats a massive boost for him.

The more points and results we can get now will make a big difference to our season as it all seems very tight behind Arsenal and City now so to be amongst that is decent at this stage. Need to pick up points in the next game and make sure this wasnt just a one off. Some signs of hope at least.

As for Liverpool their rough patch is going on a little longer than expected but not terminal yet. Perhaps they just a few too many pieces and its hard to know what their best XI is at the moment and about getting the balance right with all their options available.

I'm happy for Maguire, listen we all know what he is & what he isn't, but he's got a good enough personality, character & mentality as a person to be able to have taken all the criticism he has, accepted it & soldiered on.

His biggest sort of problems he's faced in a United shirt have mainly been out of his control, the club overpaying for him & also being awarded the captaincy. Both of those put you firmly in the crosshairs of criticism when the team doesn't do well.

I would be flabbergasted if the club even considered renewing his contract without him taking a significant pay cut. He's on £190,000 a week, which is just shy of £10m a year, that's not just starter money, that's one of your best players money. He would need to take near a 50% paycut in order to bring his wage more in line with the sort of role he's likely to play ie rotation.

I'm quite content overall with where we currently sit & how we've done overall so far this season.

We've had a tough opening 8 games, we've had Arsenal, City, Liverpool & Chelsea. There's no easy games in the PL but those are 4 of the heavier hitters quite early.

The games come thick & fast in November/December but we should get a better picture of where we actually are by the end of December before the return fixtures begin.

Yeah its been a bumpy ride, probably to be expected, but its not been too bad a start overall. The Grimsby loss could have been one to avoid but its the league cup and not the end of the world. Just hope we can start to beat the sides we are meant to be beating a bit more often and that will put us in really good stead for a European spot, not sure which one yet. Too often in the past we get the odd good result against a Liverpool or City to then just flop in the next 4 games. We need to keep up the intensity and focus and get a really good run going now.
