Good on Thug Rose cementing her title reign. IMHO, this rematch was sort of premature to make. I hope Joanna moves up or something.

I don't know what Joanna is going to do after this loss. She can't blame a weight cut or a fluke, she just has to try and improve take 1-2 non title fights to get back in. Not like she can pull a Rhonda and just leave unless she has an actual back up plan.

She can go up to flyweight. IMHO, her attitude going into this one was all wrong. What will she say now that she lost after hammering that she only reason she lost the first fight was because she had a bad weight cut?

Joanna needs at least one or two flyweight fights before going after that title, because Shevchenko gets first shot.

Didn't see the Rose/Joanna fight as as unanimous 49-46. Thought Rose took it 3 rounds to 2 & thought it might have been a split. Good contest between them.

Al Iaquinta gave a very good account of himself, stuffed a lot of takedown attempts & showed good heart. He really further exposed the biggest hole in Khabib's game the same way Michael Johnson did. If he fights any sort of competent striker & can't get the fight to the ground hes gonna get slept.

He's just such a savage though in getting hold of guys & when he's got them down he mauls them.

I had Rose winning 1,2, and 5 with head strikes.
Joanna clearly won 3, and 4 with kicks though.

I had it the same, I think Rose won rounds 1 & 5, Joanna 3 & 4. Round 2 I thought was a bit of a coin flip, but I did think Rose just about did enough to take it.

As I said, I think 49-46 unanimously was quite surprising, I don't think Rose won 4 rounds so I'm surprised... well not really, that 3 judges think she did.

I actually read earlier apparently Joanna landed more "significant" strikes in every single round statistically. A lot of people just look at Joanna's face & Rose's & think well Rose must have battered her, not taking the time to consider that Rose's leg was completely ****ed up & bruised because of how many hard kicks she ate.

Joanna definitely could have won that fight. Rose had better head movement and ability to counter strike in 1-2, but by three that was negated by those leg kicks. She should have thrown more head kicks.

I think next time though, if they fight again Rose will be more prepared to block the leg kicks and force Joanna to engage more in the pocket. It was a pretty good fight though.

I hate that Brock is likely getting a title shot. The game has passed him by, his last fight he beat Hunt big deal. Before that he lost 2 fights in a row.

Dana White's in panic mode after Conor snapped! This is a business.

Nick Diaz made a deal with the NSAC. He should be eligible to fight next month.

Poirier vs Gaethje was a war.

Dustin Poirier has really come a long way since his KO loses to McGregor & Michael Johnson, he really isn't far off being a legit contender at LW. He needs a win over someone bigger though, perhaps a rematch with Alvarez would do it.

Justin Gaethje as well deserves credit, dude is tough as nails, his last few fights have been wars. Needs to stop blocking punches & kicks with his face though if he wants to last in the sport.

Anyone see Machida's KO on Vitor?

i'd fire my entire corner if I were Raquel Pennington
as soon as we got to the hospital..I'M FIRING EVERYONE

Yeah I thought that was pretty stupid if I'm being honest. She's since come out & defended her corner saying that she had the option to waive it off herself but chose not to wanting people to cut her corner some slack.

But as I've seen said on some Twitter MMA accounts I follow, your corner is just like the referee, they are there to help save you from yourself. If you say you're done, you've had enough, you quit AND on top of that are more than likely going to lose the fight anyways on the scorecards they should have had the sense to waive it off & save her another round of punishment. There have been a few videos posted that I'd seen of other fighters telling their corners they were done & the corners sensibly stopped it immediately, if a fighter is verbally saying he/she can't or doesn't want to continue it should be stopped there & then IMO.

There's also been a couple of times fighters have come back to the corner & told them that they've hurt themselves bad, 1 of which that I can recall was GSP when he fought I believe it was Thiago Alves at UFC 100 if I'm not mistaken, went back at the end of a round telling his corner that he'd tore something near his groin & his corners response was that they didn't care & to hit him with the groin. :funny:

There is no excuse for that. They knew she was done, and they acted in a completely reckless and selfish manner.

Yoel Romero misses weight for UFC 225 against Robert Whittaker. Second time missing weight in a UFC title main event. Happened in back-to-back fights now.

CM Punk couldn't beat Jackson, he ain't beating anyone.

He will be at Money in the Bank in Chicago. :o

Also, Ronda Rousey deserves her UFC Hall of Fame Induction.

Well of course he wasn't his only chance was a fluky ko.

He is still a novice, Jackson has trained in actual fighting for years. I don't think either will be back though. Jackson played around too much by making it look so easy. If he had a ko he would likely get another UFC match.

That is the thing. Punk has basically been doing this for 4 years.
