10.11 - Icarus - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I just saw the episode yesterday and thought the beginning was an alternate universe or dream at first. I think its way too soon for Clark and Lois to be engaged. Things seem to be going pretty fast, but I guess they want to rush it for the finale

How do you figure ? Lois and Clark have known each other for a total of 7 years (Season 4 -10) they've been dating for two years (Season 9 and 10) Clark been wanting to propose to Lois every since he got Sam's blessing in "Ambush" we saw him pull out the ring at the end of "Abandoned".

lol, why is dating 2yrs too fast to get engaged? I dated my wife 3months before we got married and have been happily married going on 14yrs now. Sometimes you figure out pretty quickly that this is the person you want to spend the rest of your life w/.

Yeah, pretty quickly.

Clark circa season 4: Lois? She's bossy... She's stuck up. She's rude! I can't stand her.

:p

Yea I don't see how its to fast. They been friends for like 5yrs and have dated off and on for almost two. It seems a very logical length for today's standards.

they have not been dating 2 years. It hasnt even been 2 years since they first started dating as season 10 isnt even done yet and besides they were not dating consistently as they did break up and were apart for a few months in this time span. 2 years ago we were in season 8 and he was head over heels in love with Lana Lang. He and Lois went on their first date in Echo and its been just a little over a year since that. I think its more accurate to say they've been dating for almost a year when you take into account her breaking up with him last spring. They just got back together earlier this season. They told each other they loved each other not too long ago. They just had sex for the first time a few episodes ago. He just told her the truth abut who he is recently. It just feels as if alot has been happening within the past several episodes with not much room for a breather. A marriage does seem too soon. He hasnt let it quite sink in what its like to have her in his life, completely in his life. I think a more natural progression would be for them to get engage at the end of the season but I understand why they are rushing things bc of the finale

To be fair, one of the producers said the engagement would happen but not necessarily a wedding by the time the show ends.

I remember Al tweeted either before the season started or during last season that Lois and Clark would never get married or engaged on the show. So much for that. :o

I wouldnt be surprised if the final episode ends with a wedding

Could happen or it happens after the events of the finale.

I'm kinda hoping for that, just as long as they don't make it like Promise or Bride where the whole episode revolves around the wedding. I'd rather it be something small but sweet. But the finale better be two hours. :argh:

oh god the episode better not revolve around a wedding and I dont think it would. Final 5-10 minutes tops. It should serve as an epilogue to the series and take a backseat to the Darkseid showdon the season is building up to

when Clark jumped into the future in Homecoming, neither future Clark nor future Lois was wearing a wedding ring..... make of that what you wish

Didn't Al tweet that maybe Lois just forgot to wear it that day, somewhat hinting that she has a ring and for whatever reason, possibly wardrobe or prop department forgot to include it. I mean, in Salvation, dream or glimpse or whatever it was, they made an emphasis to show that she had a ring on.

Yeah, that's what I mean. Let it be something quick at the end. I don't want it to be like the wedding from Fantastic Four 2, or even the from the Spider-Man series from the 90's, where the wedding was a big deal, just to get crashed by some sort of villain or danger. We've already seen that in Bride. We don't need it again.

In case anyone was wondering what the name of the song played during Hawkman's funeral was, it's "City Lights" by Paul Taneja.

PJboy
If Clark sent Slade to the Phantom Zone, and Darkseid is controling him - I could see Ds blowing that whole place up and unleashing Zod.
Darkseid more than likely lost control over him when he entered, besides, he's not possessed by Darkseid, he's controlled, manipulated. Darkseid's powers are vastly limited when he's controlling someone, and not straight out possessing them.

Otherwise DarkSlade, :) , would have killed Lois, and Hawkman with as much ease as you or I slicing a knife through butter.

Seriously, Darkseid is the God of Evil.

Oh yes you can, don't be afraid brotha!
Well, it starts with a B and it's 7 letters long, and ends with a b. :) And has a J in it as the fifth letter, and a w in the fourth. I'm certain that's all I can say about it.

You said I could. So, If I get in trouble, I'll going to have to kill you. :)

For some reason I think it was the Suicide Squad that was behind attack, since they were tracking down Carter, since we only saw Clark and Oliver have their tattoos discovered and removed. Since we saw Flag and Deadshot in the preview, I can only assume that they are involved in some way and it would make more sense if they were in Collateral as opposed to Beacon since that looks like it'll be a Luthor heavy episode.

I also think Chloe is working with them, which would explain why Clark is powerless and Ollie is "crazy". It's her way of protecting them. Plus, how would the SS know about what could take Clark's powers away, unless they had someone with powers like Parasite take them away.

These next 7 weeks can't pass by soon enough.
Look, it's simple, I was right in the beginning of the season about Oliver not being kidnapped by Parademons, I knew that would be way too silly, convoluted, and stupid.

I was right about Chloe not becoming Dr. Fate. I was right about Clark having Sex with Lois only after she knew about his powers, because I know Smallville wouldn't make Clark Kent a jerk like that.

So, if I can be right about those things, when several other people said, "no, they're going to make her Doctor Fate," or "Oliver was tortured by Parademons." and if they can be wrong, why can I not be right about this, that Chloe is the one responsible, without external help from Parasite, or Blue K, or anything like that?

Chloe should be revealed as the bad guy here, and with the significant power backing of someone who has bided their time, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Also, as I've said, it would be really stupid to have the Suicide Squad kidnap and do these things to Clark and the gang, because all they would have to do is talk to Clark, and Clark would ally with them until things got better.

Clark is not stupid. Neither is Rick.

Now, maybe, maybe, some crazy Darkseid storyline will reveal itself. I don't know.
All I know, is I am tired of having my valid viewpoints completely and utterly ignored.
That's why I rarely post anymore, people rarely seem to see my words....honestly, I could be Tom Welling, and people would still ignore my words. :(

Trust me, if that happened to you as often as it happened to me, you'd be a little irritated too.
I know I can be grating, and annoying, but I'm not a troll.

I always get a kick out of reading David's posts.

I just hope you don't call me ******ed. :)
Unless you want to consider me as a friend. Which I doubt it.

And yeah, sometimes I can be a bit psychotic.
I'm going to edit that though, a lot.

That is a good question. I wished they did give us a few details on that.

I think we can assume his rebirth will have something to do with the end of the last episode. Just got a feeling.
