10.17 -Kent- Episode Discussion (Spoilers)

Seems to be the case for any device from Krypton. :hehe:

So much word, man.

I guess I'm just genuinely curious as to when Clark realized Jor-El could transport beings to other universes. They really didn't give a clear answer as to whether he was just winging it in the moment, or if he knew. If he knew it just trashes the entire episode (including Luthor).

You think Al Septien is still willing to clarify SV episodes on Twitter? :) A shame he should have to, but it seems like the only way the writers can ever make sense of things some times.

I'm just going to assume that he ran to the FOS and consulted with Jor-El after he came back from the AU. It seemed like some time had passed between him returning and meeting Clark Luthor/saving Tess.

Which...he never thought to do before?

Sweet Hey-Zeus, Clark really is a f****n moron on this show

Probably something learned on Offscreenville. Or just something the writer's pulled out of their asses. It's not like it's never happened before.

Al will likely just say, "That's a great idea" or more infamously, "Stay tuned" and leave it at that.

So here's another question that I have. Since there was a FOS in the AU, wouldn't CL had to have been "called" by the crystal and taken it to the Arctic for it to be built? If that's the case, seems like Jor-El would have made contact with CL. They just made it look like he had never been contacted by Jor-El in his world.

I gotta say, Clark isn't nearly as stupid as some fans out there...

Great episode. Really enjoyed the acting, especially by Welling and Schneider.

I think it was explained in Luthor how Lionel "silenced" Jor-El and kept Clark away from the FOS.

Yeah Lionel basically hacked into the Fortress. In Luthor the ALT Fortress looked more like a Ultra-Cave than a FOS to be honest. Just a bunch of computers set up in crystals.

Good themes in this episode but it felt too much like a filler and with so many plot-holes. Hopefully things will get back in track next week.

C+

If you put together this with Luthor, you'd have a Smallville movie about Ultraman Clark Luthor and the parallel universe. :super:

I don't think its a stretch for Jor-EL to be able to send CL to the AU. I mean the mirror box was kryptonian technology, and all kryptonian wisdom, technology and science are stored in the fortress, why wouldn't he be able to transport CL back home.

We have known for yrs that the fos is able to do pretty much any thing. Freeze people, give/take super powers, time travel, block out the sun,etc.... so if it can open/close portals to the pz which is essentially another dimension. I don't see how its much of issue sending alt clark back to his world.

As for alt lionel case. As we where told in past episodes. Clark didn't want to attack him right on. Cause he knows who/what clark is and he could kill clark/expose clark. Plus clark was hoping maybe alt lionel would redeem like real lionel did. But that isn't likely to happen. Alt linel will probably be killed by real lex/tess/darkseid. Or ultimately clark sends him back to alt world.

As for mirror box deal. We know alt world box wasn't destroyed at end of luthor. And was still on alt world. Which is how alt clark got to real clark world. But real clark destroyed his. Which was the. Remains emil used to repair and bring real clark back. Its not that complicated when you look at everything.

Well he destroyed the mirror box so he probably thought it was over.
Really? Even though there's an AU Lionel still running around that everyone is trying to figure out how to get rid of?

Clark's a dumb*ass.

So.. ever since "Luthor", Clark's had a way to get AU Lionel back to his own world and a way to get himself out of the AU without a mirror-box, but conveniently enough didn't think to do so until after he'd been "stuck" in the AU (oh noes! Da dramas!) which has its own Fortress, not to mention letting an evil Lionel run loose in his world?

Clark's a dumb*ss.

Well, erm, knowing that Jor-El can transport someone to a hidden/pocket dimension within our own universe is far different from finding out just a mere few episodes ago that Kryptonians can also transport people between separate universes. It's also different than finding out after you've created all this drama around a magical plot device that you don't even need said magical device to do so.

As for alt lionel case. As we where told in past episodes. Clark didn't want to attack him right on. Cause he knows who/what clark is and he could kill clark/expose clark.

*ahembull*****ahem*

Clark had the guy in his hands after the mansion burned down and could've just super-sped his *ss back to the Fortress and asked Jor-El to send him to the AU, or had him imprisoned there the way he had Lois in his magical beam of light. Instead, he tossed him onto the pavement.

Also, he's Clark. He could just super-speed in and grab Lionel whenever he felt like it. It's not like dude's been hard to find.

As for mirror box deal. We know alt world box wasn't destroyed at end of luthor. And was still on alt world. Which is how alt clark got to real clark world. But real clark destroyed his. Yeah, we know. But it doesn't appear that Clark had the humpty-dumptied mirror-box when he and CL were at the Fortress. It appears that Jor-El did this w/o needing the box, which pretty much negates every bit of drama in this episode and makes the entire AU Lionel arc ******ed, since Clark's always had a means of sending him back.

In summation: Clark is a dumb*ass.

I have a feeling that trying to rehab Dark Clark is going to backfire.. and what about making him pay for the crimes he's already committed?
I guess he'll end up being Ultraman?

Someone came up with a interesting thought in that our Jor-El is painted as a bad guy, the AU Jor-El is a good guy.

I doubt the rehab on Clark Luthor is going to work. If this is to align with the mythos, I can see Clark Luthor going by the idea of ruling the humans with strength, continue to be Ultraman, and form the Crime Syndicate. If all these things were to happen, in a way our Clark is responsible for it. :super:

This was a weak episode.

The whole Clark Luthor story arch is comical.

Okay... you clearly dont like the show very much, why even come here?

Mirror Box allowed Clark (from either Universe) to travel to Alternate Universe (AU) whenever he wanted to, the Fortress Jor El can send anyone to AU but for that Clark has to convince Jor El (A.I.) to do so, in other words that is not as easy thing to do.

Which is why Evil Clark Ultra man cannot come back to regular reality, now that his mirror box is destroyed.

Maybe in earlier episode CK was not aware that Jor El can send anyone through the portal to AU, but he realized that later (It is not shown, but implied.)
