i concur. it seemed more like a cape. i like the colors of the new suit though. it's red without being too bright and the blue is a nice shade. but i thought the coat made him look more like superman.

Agreed. The cape-like trench coat was awesome .

i too prefer the black trench coat outfit....especially since he actually used it more.

At the end, I like the idea that Clark has reservations about "disguising" his true self behind a pair of glasses and a hair cut...

Since Henderson and Whitehead wrote this episode, they tweeted that they'll be writing a fourth episode as they thought this would be their last. :super:

Well I am sure now with the heroes in public favor again we will see clark in action a bit more. Plus I am sure for episode like booster any maybe 19/20 will have some good action stuff. Don and holly are probably doing 19 or 20 then.

I can see Henderson and Whitehead writing Prophecy at the most. Dominion would probably be written by Septien and Meyer since they like doing the dark aspect of the mythos. :super:

MOS as an origin story, hasn't been topped since it was released.
The argument could be made that John Bryne has made so many mistakes that it doesn't matter what he was done.
That said, just because people liked it doesn't mean it was a smart move on his part.
He also replaced Superman's invulnerability with a force field. I never knew Superman was a Borg Drone. :)

He also had implied rape against Big Barda, and made her look like a "loose" person.
And forced her into making porn. And almost made Superman into a porn star.
Need I go on?
He's like a Bizarro version of Frank Miller.
Except Frank Miller hasn't really done as many bad things to Superman.
This is however not the let's get mad at John Bryne thread. Even if he basically insulted Jack Kirby's wife. Because that's who Big Barda was based on.

Beacon was a great episode.
I look forward to the upcoming episodes.
As long they don't do something really stupid like try and make it so Lex wasn't killed by Oliver.
Oliver is one of the few people in the comics who would more than likely kill Lex Luthor.

did you even read the dark knight falls?

Well, I wondered if anyone was going to ask about that.

Let's see. What has Frank Miller done to Superman...
He made him kind of loopy in the head, he made him rape Wonder Woman, and she developed stockholm's syndrome, or something.
He mostly makes him a giant jerk among other things and words I can't say. :)

He's done his fair share of bad things.

But John Bryne takes the cake.
Destroyed Superman's invulnerability, replacing it with a lazy force field.
Destroyed Suspension of Disbelief, by explaining how he manages to vibrate to prevent photos from being taken. Superman totally uses the ability of Dean Cain's Superman to walk through that force field in that one episode. :)
The Porn star reference from above.
Made Superman the disguise, causing untold damage to the concept of the character. Not to mentioning somehow getting people to think that idea was good. Apparently, he made a deal with the Devil.
Weakened his power more than just getting rid of his Planet Juggling powers.
And you know, just mainly not a good guy on other sides. Like the Big Barda incident. and others throughout the years.

And did you ever see my response in the Collateral thread? I still like to know why you thought I was 8 years old. Maybe you had a bad day? :) I can accept that.

Really loved this episode. For some reason, I thought the shots at Martha were going to be more serious considering the slow-mo camera and music. It gave that dynamic that had me worried.

The best part for me, was when Clark had taken Martha to safety, and realized Lionel was still inside. She gave him that motherly look that said it all "You're still a good person, you can't let him die."

The video messages to me, were pretty great because not only were they to the character, but also to the show in general. It kinda got me choked up seeing all the sincere thank you's. That was a nice touch, and an added bonus for fans to participate.

For some reason, I feel like that part was edited weirdly, almost as if there was meant to be a commercial break in between the time that Clark heard the shots and then went to the hospital. I mean, why would Clark superspeed to the hospital first instead of to the scene of the crime (which is what they made it seem like)? It makes me wonder if they originally planned to show the shooting or the aftermath and had to edit it differently after recent events.

I didn't even think about it that way, but now that you mention it, it makes sense. Now I'm starting to get a little choked up just thinking about how the end is near. :csad:

I thought that look was more of a "I want you to rescue him." look.
Because Clark would have totally left him there if his mother didn't look at him like that.

Sometimes I think Smallville wants to borrow Golden Age Superman's indiscriminate killing character trait/flaw for their Clark.

Whatever, he's already killed anyway. Season 4 Episode 2. If Wes didn't count.
What exactly was he anyway? A Zombie Cyborg? :)

I thought the video messages were a bit much. After the second or third one I couldn't wait for them to stop.

LOL. See what I mean. I went back and watched them a second time, and that's when it really hit me. I tell ya, it would've been a super sad moment if it was just a bunch of flashes of people saying 'Thank you" or Thanks Blur, for everything" and having Febre's score in the background....(shudders):csad:

Well, If I can be honest, I liked the majority of them, but yeah, they did use a lot.
It almost became overkill.
"There is no kill like overkill."

I noticed one of the users that appeared on the messages for a brief second in the beginning, was wearing a blue Superman shirt with the classic red and yellow shield.:woot:

You mean the guy on the left of the screen on the computer on the right?

Untitled-1-2.jpg

I'm not sure I'll watch it again later. I thought I was seeing things.

I saw a red, blue and yellow blur too, but I couldn't find anyone in any of the frames wearing colors as bright as this guy.

Anyone know if anyone from here or K-site were any of those entries?
