FINALLY, an explaination as to why Jor-El has been being a *****e. I can accept that A.I. Jor-El is just a computer program with no emotion, I loved how the last message from his parents explained that.

Got to see at least most of it!,I missed most of Hatcher's parts:(But still got a nice little sample and I really liked how her&her character was used.

Most of the episode seemed very rushed to me,But still enjoyed it all!,Lot's of great parts and Tess as a Luthor is a damn good twist that I kinda hoped for before.....The ring of course is a pretty cool moment and I really can't wait for Clark's proposal.

Very nice Jor-El/Lara-El/Lois and Clark scene!,Even better than I expected.

Indeed!,I fully forgive him now lol.

yea its great they finally had a reason why ai jorel been such a tough ass through the yrs. Also cool they played back to pamela, i was thinking rachel when i made my review so now i know it was the other lady. PRetty cool there.

I am pretty surprised and happy that they made a reference to a character from season 1 in such an obscure episode as "Crush". If it wasn't for Smallville Wiki, I wouldn't have remembered who was Tess' mother. I am impressed.

Same here. I must say, it's better than having Tess be a clone of Lex or his mother. Though I was fully prepared to accept it had that been the case.

The ring is exactly the same that appeared in "Salvation"

Good

- Jor-El and Lara scene. I guess this officially means Terrence Stamp won't appear in physical form as Jor-El. It's funny considering Julian Sands was cast as a younger looking version of him. Though I am perplexed how treating Clark like he's been a failure for ten years serves as a measure to shield him from bearing the burden of Jor-El's failures?

- Teri Hatcher cameo was neat. It felt slightly hammed up in the dialogue but I'm glad they scored that actress as an easter egg.

Lame

- Granny. I was expecting a better performance and perhaps a much creepier actress, I didn't find her scary or threatening at all. We've had more disturbing freak of the weeks.

- Desaad.... horrible, Furies; I understand the constraints of Smallville's weak budget on CW but they could have done better than that.

- Pacing, it felt like this episode was rushed (mainly Lois' storyline).

- Lutessa Luthor.. :whatever: I find Tess unintentionally amusing because it's clear (like many characters of SV's past) the writers have no idea what to do with her. She's a Luthor and didn't know it, a biologist, a Checkmate operative, Lex's protege, watchtower 2.0, the child of an abusive family, and now part of Granny Goodness' family. Reminds me of Power Girl in the 90s, when DC had no idea what to do with her so they pulled stuff out of their collective asses like TPTB are during with this 'Lutessa Luthor' thing.

7/10. I didn't review the last three episodes as I didn't find them particularly good. This one was decent though.

Sidenote: I didn't award or detract any points for Lois' involvement in this episode. I understand this show is obviously Elseworlds now but it's still incredibly bizarre having her be a strong driving force (at this stage) that is pushing Clark towards being Superman. It seems more of a Lana-type role while he's still in Smallville during his pre-Superman days.

While it may be a fun playoff for the shipper fans of the show to see them getting engaged and married this early on (and having her as his new sidekick in Smallville), I just find it incredibly weird characterization for Lois Lane at this stage. Though I will concede it is something very different from the norm.

Loved the episode tonight...I could honestly go for another several seasons with Clark and Lois (and Superman of course). TW and Erica are just so good together in those roles and the writers really handle them together so well.

Really digging the message from Jor-EL and Lara (and how it mirrored Lois's mommy -- played awesomely by Hatcher).

The only thing bugging me was that Lara was talking about Earth as if she had no personal knowledge of the place....strange since she was hanging out on the Kent farm for a brief time snooping around (season 7). Who knows maybe she really didn't get to visit too much. I think they did mention that the portals were limited (?).

All in all though Smallville is really going out with a bang and this episode was tops. I can't wait to see what they have in store for the Finale.

I seen a few people mention that on Granny Goodness Wall of Fame there is a picture of Dawn Orstroff

i am glad she wasnt a clone, didnt want her to be a luthor but the story worked great an it was cool that it was nod way back. Now here is the question who is older tess or lex?

LOL Really? I need to watch the episode again and see each picture closely.

Pretty sure Lex is older.

So no one is complaining about the fact that Clark is actually gonna ask Lois to marry him even before he becomes Superman, are you kidding me right now? Okay bs stuff all you want in any other season but the FINAL season, i dont mind the Clois moments at all but seriously this is a pretty big mistake, made save the proposing for the finale but it doesnt look like they'll be doing that. This just adds to the Lois to the reason Clark becomes Superman which isnt true at all. Im fine with the Jimmy crap, the Doomsday bs, and even the Tess being a Luthor but enough is enough. Season 10 all except for Homecoming has been a pretty damn big disappointment.

well we known about how there relationship is going. And really big deal if its before he is dubbed superman. He has pretty much been superman just not in name since season 8. i dont really see the dam problem there.

Clark is the Blur, and he has a ways to go before he earns and becomes Superman. He is no where near Superman status, i'd be fine for him to get engaged in the finale but before then would just be ridiculous and pretty much state Lois is the reason he's Superman, which is wrong on all accounts.

Lois may help Clark along the way but she isn't the reason he becomes Superman. He'll be Superman all on his own.

Elseworlds.

It's funny how TPTB always said the show would align with the mythos perfectly by the end, but it seems like now they've been given the freedom to go their own route.

Lois living in Smallville and driving Clark towards Superman is different. Them being married in the beginning of his Superman career with Lois protecting his secret at that stage is different.

Regardless, the show has other demographics to satisfy than just the Superman fans. The 'Clois' focus of the last three seasons and how they've specifically handled the relationship and it's evolution is more geared to shippers.

The marriage is a payoff for them.

I don't have a problem with them getting married before he is superman. It's smallville this isn't the typical superman mythology obviously. This is it's own unique arch.

Go away troll

It's debatable. "Pandora" showed us otherwise.

The interesting thing is, Clark's destiny almost seems like a self-fulfilling prophesy now that he's seen his own possible future as Superman and fixed his life accordingly to live up to that future.

Makes me wonder what would have happened if Brainiac 5 didn't step in.

i dont have a screen cap of this. but i was just reading over at ksite, some fan noticed in the hallway of granny's minions around the world. They used an image of CW president Dawn O. How funny is that.

Indeed. I see it the same way,

The way Movieblog describes the direction and intent of the show sums it up for me:

It's not Superman, but it's own thing, which is why I can't really take any points off for them going that route.

I agree. It is a self-fulfilling prophesy. If the series was younger then maybe I would have a problem with it, but right now I'm just waiting for him to put on that suit and fly off.

Yeah, SV Fan mentioned that earlier. I kind of want to see all the pictures now. Maybe they're the producers and writers.

Actually Lois is the key to Superman in every incarnation of the story so it makes sense that she'd be the reason.

Superman's public debut to the public has always been him saving Lois Lane whether he had the super suit or not . And Lois then names him Superman.

With the death of Jonathan and the departure of Martha to Washington DC who better to help Clark fulfill his destiny other than his Soul mate.
