9.02 - Metallo - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Yea it was horrible, they could have at least made him a Shorter annoying kid AT LEAST

Smallville's version of Mxy was an Abomination to the character . That's all I'm going to say on that subject . :cmad:

Once again, I'll be the voice of reason with him and say that Mxy can be and is anything he wants at any given time. This was one time, the next time he shows up it can be as something else.

You can't mess up a character that changes on a regular basis like someone with A.D.D.

Hey trip your review for "Metallo" is now up at Ksite. I just got finished reading it. Like always another wonderful review from you. I do enjoy reading your thoughts and inside details on folks and all that.

Oh, thanks.

:D

Inside details? I have no inside info, I'm just good at guessing...

;)

For everyone else, read it here:

i was just meaning when you talk about the costume folks or the makeup/music, etc..... folks other reviewers dont really talk about that stuff.

I enjoyed it but it just wasn't an accurate adaptation of The Injustice League IMO.

The thing is this is SV, not the comics. The show has provided its own slant on characters and the DC mythology in general for 8 seasons now. Certain things may line up to the mythology of the comics, but the show itself has already shown time and time again, that they have free rein with elements of the DC Universe with DC and Warner Bros' approval, of course.

Not including the fact, that the show does pull from multiple DC Comics sources, which the show's writers pick and choose from as they feel the need.

There's not just one definition of how things have to be and DC and Warner Bros. allow them to do pretty freely, within their defined limitations.

Oh, I gotcha.

Yeah, most reviews are just glorified recaps with some editorializing thrown in.

I don't really do that..

Damn, twitter is down and I've run out of steam working on my Rabid review...

:(

I guess I'll go take a shower and go shopping.

Yeah, nothing big...

I don't know how much I'll be able to write today, though. I woke up early for a day off, like 8:15, and never got anymore sleep.

I've made some good progress on Rabid, though, better than I was at this point last week anyway.

So, it's all good.

I think this episode was completely awesome !
Mostly due to Brian austin Green in Metallo. I sincerely hope he will appear again! I thought that was one of the best villain in the serie. Well done, well acted. I liked how he was slow and almost crippled, that leaves room for improvement later on his cyborg body.
Clark dealing with the consequences of his acts was something excellent too.
I'm a bit deceived to see that he already (almost?) gives up his Kal el side, I think it is useful against Zod.
Weak point: the newb helping Tess. WTF ?
Strong point : wonderful, wonderful Metallo. Both idea and acting.

The lesbian subtext a little too textual maybe? :p

it doesn't matter. Lois/Tess is hot.

Tess could also be trying to get under Lois' skin.

In any case, which awful name combo is being used for them in the slash stories - Less, Loss, TeLo, LoTe, Tloiess?

Brian Austin Green returns as Metallo

Guess who’s rising from the dead on Smallville? Hint: He’s got a ripped bod, a green heart, and his name appears in the headline of this story. And his photo’s to the left. And… oh, enough beating around the bush, it’s Metallo!
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Brian Austin Green will reprise his role as the kryptonite-powered villain in this season’s 18th episode, scheduled to air in the spring.
Green debuted as journo John Corben (a.k.a. Metallo) in Smallville’s season premiere back on Sept. 25. He was killed off the following week when he accidentally ripped his mechanical heart out of his chest. Hey, it happens.
How on Earth will Smallville resurrect the DC Comics baddie? I’m guessing it’ll involve a ticker transplant. Got a better theory? Happy Metallo’s being exhumed so soon after his “death”? Head to the comments!

that was sweet news to hear, we all heard brian wanted to return plus the producers said they did have plans for him. Cant wait to see what his story is about, and i wonder with toyman last working on corben's "heart" if we might see him returning too.

me too i enjoyed his work in terminator show, and i thought he was a great john corben/metallo in savior/metallo.
