Watching 47 Ronin...

Pretty meh so far. The set and costume design is top notch tho. Reminds me of Kurosawa.

Out of nostalgic hype for the new film, I watched a video showcasing all the morph sequences for Power Rangers from MMPR to Megaforce. They're pretty terrible, especially the Saban seasons. I give Saban some leeway due to it being a kid's show in the nineties, but Samurai and Megaforce still had pretty bad sequences. They were getting better during the Disney seasons, but still kid's show special effects. I think my favorites would have to be Ninja Storm and RPM and worst will go to In Space and Wild Force.

Also as I was watching it occurred to me: will they ever have a female leader for the PR?

Special effects, mostly. They were still pretty cringe-inducing, though. After thinking a bit, I'll add the wizard rangers to the worst list followed by the DOG ranger.

God those things got more and more convoluted as the franchise continued. I really don't know how they expect this movie to appeal to a wide range. It's a pretty lame franchise to most people over the age of 5.

It's probably something of a cashgrab after the success of The Avengers. They can use a similar setup, subbing the Marvel stuff from character in the various Power Ranger franchises.
