It shocks me that the mother won't press charges and that the police haven't taken matters into their own hands.

If three young boys had done this to an 11 year old girl, and posted it on youtube they'd be registered sex offenders by now and living under a bridge.

Eh... it's different the other way around.

Is there any way to edit the thread title?
I crapped up my grammar.

Anyways these girls were all 14 years old, so now I'm positive that if it had been three 14 year old boys they'd of been tried as adults.

This society is deliriously messed up and ass backwards, there is such double standards when females commit sex crimes.

Just think back to Mary Kay Letourneau, sure she did 7 years in jail, but if it had been a male teacher he'd still be rotting away and for good.

14 year olds are children but this **** is really inexcusable and disgusting, I can't imagine how humiliated that boy is and how scarred his life will be.

Eh... it's different the other way around.

Why is it different, why is this any more acceptable? Looks like one of the girls even pulled on his penis from what I can gather in that video. That is sexual assault.

the top comment sums up my thoughts

Well, at least the kid didn't touch any of the girls' ****, otherwise he would've been charged for rape.

lmao

Poor kid. Unless he goes through years of therapy, I wouldn't be surprised if he grows up to be gay or a wifebeater. As they say though, karma is a B, and if I were them I'd be looking towards repentance and penance before it catches up with them.

since this is being handled laughably by the law I'd be surprised if Anonymous doesn't ruin these chick's lives hahah.

The jury is out on whether or not people can turn gay, but this kid will probably have problems with sexuality. He is so young and kids are so cruel at this age, it won't stop with this incident, all the other boys are probably beating on him for having been dominated by girls, he'll have to be very strong to get through this.

It isn't like they are playfully wrestling each other, sure when I was twelve I wouldn't of minded getting naked with three naked fourteen year old girls and having some mutual fun, but this is the furthest thing from that that I can think of. This kid is terrified and helpless, one of the girls is pinning him down with her knee in his throat.

Yo JAK, you might want to edit that last post, while I agree with you it still might be used against you by a mod.

Actually, if those 14yos were boys, I'm pretty sure they'd be charged with aggravated sexual assault and possession and distribution of child pornography. Which could get them 10 years in federal prison.

The double standard is laughable. Not that 10 years in prison would be fitting either. Kids are kids, and if they break the law, they should be prosecuted... in juvenile court.

I wouldn't be surprised if they'd be charged as adults though.
A lot of kids are charged as adults nowadays for the graver offences.

Not only that but they'd probably be listed sex offenders and their lives would be ruined.

What would those girls or their parents have done if the 11yr old boy had held one of them down and stripped them naked in public, and then put it on youtube?

There should be NO double standard, and that should be made very clear in how this case is handled.

I'm a woman, IMO it makes us look like disgusting hypocrites.

This is ****ing insane. Seriously. It's actually hard to fathom how this **** happens in a so called "civilised" country.

And what is the mother doing the idiot? She refuses to press charges? WTF? They should get charged as rapists. It's that simple.

People have to be questioning the mothers parenting if she does not give a ****

Even the cop in that interview says that had it been boys doing this to a girl they'd probably be facing felony charges. As others have asked, why is this any different? It is still a person being violated by other people. I am truly disgusted.

I would imagine that the mother is doing nothing because her son has begged her not too. He is embarressed enough and does not want to have to live with anything any bigger.

I'm sure if he wanted to press charges himself, she wouldn't be advising him not too.

Why should they have to press charges? These girls sexually assaulted him... on camera. Just arrest the scumbags.

Did the cop say that or was it the reporter? The cop said that they weren't quite dealing with the same situation. Didn't the cop also say that maybe those complaining about a double standard might have a double standard themselves?

How could people complaining about the double standard have a double standard themselves? A double standard of what?

So the kid is cool with that video on Youtube ? They should press charges & see if they can sue their parents & get any computers taken away from all three *****es & send them to juvie

But some have suggested, if the genders had been reversed - if three boys assaulted an 11-year-old girl - that they would be in jail.
"I completely agree," said Brown. "There's no doubt in my mind that if that had been three boys, three 13 year old boys and an 11-year-old girl I shudder to think about it."
Brown believes the boys not only would have been arrested but would be facing felony charges.

Its not a direct quote, but it is attributed to him. But he is quoted as agreeing that boys in this matter would be sitting in jail. Meanwhile, the girls for some reason are "not seen as a threat."

He was just writing off that claim because it's a hypothetical situtation, but that assumption is based off cases in the past. It not like there is no precedant for girls being attacked and the way their attackers have been prosecuted. We expect anyone guilty of this behavior to be prosecuted and yet that is not what is currently happening.

How could people complaining about the double standard have a double standard themselves? A double standard of what?

I guess because we assume that boys would be more heavily prosecuted, but as I said, that is only because we have seen this kind of thing before and have seen how they have been handled.

Now we expect similar treatment for these girls and yet that is not the case.

I understand the mom deeply sympathizes for her son and wants to respect his wishes, but really he is just an 11 year old boy who has just had his world devastated and she needs to step in as a parent and do what is right.

Raising awareness isn't enough, this situation is being brushed off as a prank and the girls might not learn a damned thing from it while the boy will continue to suffer.

Equality between the sexes isn't all about getting the good end of the bargain like the right to vote and equal wages, it should also concern equal legal treatment, our society shouldn't have deferential treatment of women just because we have this conception that they are more naturally innocent.
