What brought you here?

I got very interested in finding out as much as I could about the sequel to Batman Begins, starting at Batman-on-film.com, where I noticed everyone talking about this "SHH!" forum, so I came here to see what it was about.

What made you stay?

I found I liked it better here than BOF as a source of information and discussion about The Dark Knight, and then I branched out into the community and political forums, where I spend most of my time now.

Who is your Hype Nemesis?

I don't know that I have a "nemesis", per say, although I tend to butt heads a bit with StorminNorman and Kurosawa in the Politics forum.

I've had various situations with my parents, friends, ex, extended family, and educational career that I could have handled better, but if I had to pick one regret, it would probably be pretending to be a hardcore homophobe in high school to "fit in". I look back at some of the stuff I said then and cringe.

I'm the first member of my immediate family to attend college.

Star Wars. Travel to a multitude of alien worlds any time you want, it's a sci-fi nerd's wet dream.

Some seminal historical event, like the the assassination of JFK or VE or VJ Day, just to feel connected to events I've only seen in footage.

I don't regularly watch any TV show, although I used to watch Seinfeld and Friends. I watch The Situation Room on CNN, and what little I've seen of Law & Order and House, I liked.

An embarrassing moment?

In high school, the gym floor was being repainted in one section, and we all walked around the wet area.....except me. I turned to see I had just blithely tracked footprints all over the place. No one found out it was me.

1. In elementary school I had a dream I was walking around the playground at recess and came to a tree stump where a huge squirrel was sitting. It proceeded to clamp its mouth all the way around my neck. I wandered around the playground screaming for someone to help and tugging at the squirrel, but everyone ignored me, and then suddenly I was in the cafeteria, and everyone was still ignoring me! Then I woke up and my neck was sore .

Overall I prefer Star Wars, but I like the 2009 Star Trek better than the Star Wars prequels.

do you like the prequels?

I don't think they're as terrible as they're made out, but I think they had tons of problems, including the walking hunk of wood that is Hayden Christensen, and the fact that George Lucas CANNOT write romantic scenes to save his life. Suffice to say I prefer the original trilogy. I did think Episode III had a lot of good scenes (Padme's death/Vader's birth) and was overall the strongest prequel.

Favorite type of music?

I can listen to most anything except rap or country. Some music I like includes U2's older stuff, Muse, Dido, R.E.M., Pink Floyd, and some David Bowie and Coldplay.

what type of music do you hate?

Not a fan of rap and country makes my head hurt.

Do you read harry potter?

Yes, own every book and every movie released so far.

Probably Half-Blood Prince.

Half-Blood Prince. Runners-up are Order of the Phoenix and Prisoner of Azkaban.

how do you feel about the spider-man reboot?

I think it's dumb to reboot something we saw less than ten years ago, especially redoing the whole high school origin story. I have a hard time seeing how this is going to avoid feeling completely pointless and redundant.

1. Unfortunately I wasn't very involved in activities in high school. In college I'm part of an improv acting group, and had a supporting role in my college's production of A Streetcar Named Desire.

Really random fleeting moment....me and Dad going for a drive and Dad jokingly asking if Mom would be ok while we were gone. That was before we even moved to Ohio from South Carolina, when I was five.

I don't really know. Basically because I was afraid of people finding out I was gay or maybe even of being gay? I don't know that I can pinpoint the exact time that I realized I was gay. All I know is I was drawing guys in their underwear when I was 10 or younger, and around 10th grade I told a very select few I was "bi", and a lot of my classmates were catching onto the real score by the time we graduated, which considering my high school, might have meant I got out of there at the right time.

if you could go on any game show, which would it be?

Jeopardy, you're pretty much guaranteed to go away with at least something. I also think I could do pretty well on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, considering my friends consider me a wealth of useless random information.

what about it do you hate?

To me, it sounds like it's based in celebrating being a redneck, which I don't find remotely desirable, and most country songs sound mopey and whining about their problems. IMHO.

Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing

I liked where Ross and Rachel originally got together, or where Monica and Chandler got engaged. Or any involving Courteney Cox in a fat suit.

Superficially I suppose their face, but I tend to a very quick "once-over" of their face, the way they walk, their voice, etc. Kind of a flash impression, almost like a photograph.

Oh, probably. I'm the kind of person who just has to check my messages/e-mails/forums after being away for 15 minutes in the shower or whatever, and is too lazy/impatient to put clothes on first.

what's an obstacle you've overcome or a significant event in your life that has impacted you greatly?

I don't know about an obstacle, but my first and thus far only relationship had a major influence on me. It brought me significantly, if not completely, out of my shell, brought me into a circle of friends, gave me a social life, and got me over my fears. My ex is the only person who could get me on an escalator (stems from a childhood incident where I almost fell off one) or standing outside watching a thunderstorm (used to terrify me).

I live with my parents. I've always felt closer to my mom than my dad. I am not close with any of my extended family and never have been.

I've never really wanted children, I never have the slightest idea how to interact with them and I usually find them annoying.
