I think Ben has had the benefit of a better coaching staff and he is more athletic then Eli....but they both have rings and both put up great performances in their games leading up to the Super Bowl....

It can't happen any more. In baseball next season, watch how many teams will be "the next Tampa Rays."
which reminds me.....has anybody noticed the fact the the last WS was in tampa....and the SB will be there too!

:whatever:

I called for his release because he is over paid. Best of his draft class or not, he makes Brady and Peyton Manning numbers which is a big part of the team salary but has neither Brady and Manning's win percentage or stats.

I agree. I like Ben, but to put him in the same pay class as those two is a tad ridiculous to me. Manning dominates games, and Brady's resume speaks for itself.

I think its total ******** that this years SB is in Tampa and they are back in Florida at Miami next year....utter ********....

Yes. Big Ben has looked just as bad as the worse of Eli Manning.

No Way!

Well, I did it, i've picked the Cards and Ravens to win tomorrow. *gulp*

Wanna take a bet on who has more INT's this year?

Eli Manning has 10
Big Ben has 15

This is their career stats:

QB: Eli Manning, Record: 42-31
Career Games: 73, QB Rating: 76.1, Pct Compl: 55.9, YDs: 14623, TDs: 98, INTs: 74
QB: Ben Roethlisberger, Record: 51-21
Career Games: 72, QB Rating: 89.4, Pct Compl: 62.4, YDs: 14974, TDs: 101, INTs: 69

I'm not saying Eli is a horrible QB, I just like the way Roethlisberger manages the game.

I don't care about their career stats - what Eli did his second year is completely and utterly irrelevant. We are talking about the QB of today, not the QB of 2004.

Ben Roethlisberger has had a better team around him as well, which is huge.

Roethlisberger is FAR better than Eli Manning is. Tools shmools, Eli has a history of making idiotic decisions with the ball or terrible throws that result in turn overs. He had a great stretch last season and at the beginining of this season, but outside of that hes never been a good qb.

Big Ben, who I am not even that high on, has progressed MUCH further than Eli up this point. If you wanna talk teams, Elis always hade the better running game, and has had Plax for most of his carreer while Ben had him 1 season. If I had to have one on the other, Ill take the guy with better numbers, better arm, whose better in the 4th quarter, and makes less mistakes. That is Roethlisbeger all the way. He did randomly take a big step backwards this season compared to last, but I have little doubt hell be back to last seasons form next year. And, I would say the same for Eli. I forsee another 15 int season for Eli if Plax doesnt return.

That said, Id go with Rivers over both of them.

Who's playing this Sunday and who's sitting at home? Eli threw 2 INT on the way to a loss against Philadelphia.

In the 5 years the two QB's have been in the league Pittsburgh has had a more prolific rushing attack three of the five years.

And while Eli has had Plaxico, Big Ben has had Hines Ward whose production is similar (from 2004-2007 only 237 yards separate the two players).

Ben has also had more talent at WR outside of the number one guy with Randel El/Santonio Holmes being a far greater threat than Amani Toomer could dream of.

Again, you seem to be focused on Eli before his streak in 2007 when that player has no impact on the QB of today. Eli won his Super Bowl, Big Ben simply didn't mess his up.

Eli played better during his streak of 2007 than Roethlisberger ever has in his career and out performed Roethlisberger in 2008. Manning out performed Roethlisberger in 2006 as well throwing 24 TD's to 18 INT to Ben's 18/23.

Who has the better team around him? Manning has no one to throw the damn ball to. Neither Amani Toomer nor Steve Smith are number one wide receivers.

Also Philip Rivers doesn't enter this conversation, IMO, until he wins something. I love Rivers but no team has underperformed more than the San Diego Chargers. Talent wise they are one of if not THE best team in the league and they have nothing to show for it.

If Rivers ever gets a defense like Pittsburgs or New Yorks last year, hell win no problem.

And while Eli has had Plaxico, Big Ben has had Hines Ward whose production is similar (from 2004-2007 only 237 yards separate the two players).

Hines Ward isnt half the wide reciever Plax is. He is nearly as big of a red zone or down field threat. Teams dont gameplan around Hines Ward, but they do Buress. Ward bennefits much more from Ben right now than vice versa.

Ben has also had more talent at WR outside of the number one guy with Randel El/Santonio Holmes being a far greater threat than Amani Toomer could dream of.

Elis #1 was so much better than Bens that its irrelevant. Holmes is their #1 anyway.

Eli won his Super Bowl, Big Ben simply didn't mess his up.

The New York Giants defensive line won that super bowl. Manning just didnt **** up too badly and only threw one interception.

The only thing Manning has on Ben is off the field is a damn idiot.

San Diego had the 8th ranked total defense last year.

Hines Ward isnt half the wide reciever Plax is. He is nearly as big of a red zone or down field threat. Teams dont gameplan around Hines Ward, but they do Buress. Ward bennefits much more from Ben right now than vice versa.

Ward's best year came when Benjamin was playing in Ohio, but thats beside the point. Hines Ward's production is comparable to Plaxico Burress. Burress is a more explosive wide out, but he has also been inconsistent.

Elis #1 was so much better than Bens that its irrelevant. Holmes is their #1 anyway.

I think you overrate Burress. Plaxico Burress has never been a top 5 WR in the league and Ben's receiving corps has ALWAYS been better than Eli's top to bottom.

The New York Giants defensive line won that super bowl. Manning just didnt **** up too badly and only threw one interception.

Wait...so Michael Stahan lead the game winning drive and earned Super Bowl MVP honors? I missed that one.

Big Ben has the lowest QB rating of a winning Super Bowl team ever. And by a significant amount.

The only thing Manning has on Ben is off the field is a damn idiot.

The stats disagree.

Because the NFL is run by a bunch of old Jews who have their summer homes in the area....and coke is cheap...

Excellent

SUPER SUNDY BOI'S
We kick off the last 7 hours of it...:csad:

After this it's 2 weeks of total crud and hearin opinions of folks who don't even know how the two SB teams will have gotten there...least there's College Basketball.

Let's go Eagles

Are you kidding me? Please tell me you're joking...

I would like nothing more than to see fatsos Tra Thomas and John Runyan land flat on their asses as they try to contain those small, agile Cardical DE's... hopefully Mcnabb starts vomitting again as well. This is the only wish I have... I fear if the Eagles win this game they will have an excellent chance the following weekend after next regardless of who they play... it probably won't happen, but all I can do is just praying for the Christmas present I never got this year...
