2009 MLB Thread, part 2

Have you not paid attention to the umpiring at all this year? Or even just this post-season?

Im talking about Pettite...This does not have anything with the umpires...Pettite is the best in the game at getting runners out on base without getting a balk.

Umpires are the ones who call balks. It has everything to do with the umpires.

Amazing how all of the Phillies and Angels fans are quiet now.

Don't get cocky. It's a long series, bub.

You mean like you were quiet until you were sure the Yankees had won?

In fact, how you were quiet all season until you were sure the Yankees had won? Yeah, you're not a gloat-happy, fair-weather whiner at all...

Tough loss... what a putrid effort offensively. I think they can beat C.C but its a long shot. Phillies need the next two games.

Haha you're a joke! You disappeared for a few days when The Angels won a game.

You're the perfect example of why people hate Yankee fans.

Nice bounce back from the Yankees last night. Hamles looked like he was going to pitch well, then he hit that snag in the 5th. Swisher and A-Rod finally came around and hit something. Although, he'll probably go 0-4 with 2k's tonight. I'm surprised the Phillies aren't going to use Cliff Lee on 3-days rest. They NEED this game tonight.

this series is long from over.....we have so many things that can happen

funny thing is i think the yankees need to win tonight, with cc pitching this game, and Lee pitching the next one. I see the phillies getting a huge boost if they win tonight and we can't have that.

With Lee pitching next, this game pretty much decides the series. Yanks win and it's over, Phillies win and they're (in all likelihood) going back to New York up 3-2 with an excellent chance of taking it.

Can't believe he isn't throwing Lee 3 times though. Might as well take advantage of the ridiculous scheduling.

Since 1997, only the 2002 Angels have lost game 1 of the World Series and gone on to win the WS.

Hamels was pitching great then that walk against Tex began his downfall. He blew after that....basically what he's done all year.

Cant believe Hamels said he cant wait till next season.

Ouch.

Big game for the Yankees...We are favored tonight and we have to capitalize and win this...Lee is tomorrow!

Has there ever been a World Series brawl before? Looks like there's inklings of one already.

And I was right about the Yankees not being stupid enough to start Gaudin.

Unfortunately, the Phillies were stupid enough to start Blanton.

Jeez, the Phillies are looking like a bunch of cowards with the HBP to A-Rod.

Three in two games is two too many.
